Kon-Tiki 25-10-2004 02:24 PM

Artsy fartsy :w00t:

FreeFreddy 25-10-2004 02:39 PM

LOL

Sean 25-10-2004 04:53 PM

Lmao...

Indie 25-10-2004 06:45 PM

LOL.. well.. that one's special.. ^-^

Kon-Tiki 25-10-2004 07:10 PM

That one's my favourite. Will be drawing couple of faces later today for a friend. Will show them here too.

Sean 25-10-2004 07:13 PM

Do you mean ones from that game thingy you was talking about?

Kon-Tiki 25-10-2004 08:07 PM

Nope, others. These I'm working on at the moment're just recolorings. Can't claim them my own art. Just giving them a certain colorcode for a program.

Sean 26-10-2004 01:52 PM

Ok
When you going to upload them?

Kon-Tiki 26-10-2004 03:52 PM

Soon. No need to rush me or it'd become a chore.

FreeFreddy 26-10-2004 04:03 PM

Yeah, take your time. Art needs it's time (from the words of TheVoid). ;)

TheVoid 26-10-2004 05:14 PM

Actually it's from the words of Iron Scarecrow. ;)

LOL LOL SCORE!

Sorry :ot:

Kon-Tiki 27-11-2004 10:04 PM

New pic! Drew this today.

Puffin 27-11-2004 10:08 PM

Me likey a lot!! :D

More! More! More!! :w00t:

FreeFreddy 27-11-2004 10:18 PM

Hey, that pic is cool! :D

Kon-Tiki 28-12-2004 04:12 PM

I suck at drawing freehand on the comp >_> Anyways, Pizzaman.

FreeFreddy 28-12-2004 04:16 PM

Lo-l, that hat... He looks like he's out on safari in Afrika. LOL

Yamcha 28-12-2004 04:27 PM

He looks like a pizza general to me LOL

I think that he comes out Italy!

LeperMessiah 21-01-2005 08:09 PM

LOL great works, loved the idea "Pizzaman"

Didn't know that you did your avatar yourself  it's my favorite :ok:

taikara 21-01-2005 08:51 PM

Thanks for your comments in my fledgling portfolio.

Your stuff is creative! You should scan in some of your hand-drawn stuff. Keep up the good work :ok:

I'm going to recreate one of my favorites from the old Microsoft Paint days and post it in your honor :D

Kon-Tiki 21-01-2005 09:17 PM

Hmmm... there's an idea. I'll doodle up birdman and that snailgnome once more, along with some of my eeniemeenie triangle stuff and see if I can get them through the scanner. Can't draw those on the comp or they'd be worse than these things.

Kon-Tiki 31-01-2005 04:51 PM

As the scanner's being a donkey, I can't scan Snailgnome or any of those eetsiepeetsie triangle thingies in, but I did make Rafbo and Mum-Raf...
First Mum-Raf, second post Rafbo (dunno how to attach two files and am too lazy to load them up)

Kon-Tiki 31-01-2005 04:52 PM

And... RAFBO (First Blood, Part II)

Strobe 31-01-2005 06:41 PM

hehehe...funny pics, those last ones... :D

but i'd like to see more of your other ones, like those you posted at the
beginning of this thread!! they are really special, i like them alot! :ok:

Kon-Tiki 31-01-2005 07:00 PM

Will try again to fix the scanner tonight and let's hope I can get some stuff scanned in then. Can't draw Snailgnome on the comp, even if my life depended on it... or it'd look crappy.

wendymaree 02-02-2005 06:20 AM

It's taken way too long to get here, but I finally left the snail boat and here I am, looking around. The first thing I see running about the place is a cheeky animated monitor called Hanky Man and then I'm accosted by a Pizza Man...and just in time - I'm starving.

Is the boy's face yours, Kon-Tiki? OMG

I never realised you did your own avatar, either. I like. :ok:

Kon-Tiki 02-02-2005 02:45 PM

It is, from back when I was 17. And Hankyman's not a monitor, but a hanky that hasn't been washed for months (which explains its colour ;) )

taikara 02-02-2005 03:15 PM

These are fun =)

Stupid scanners, I hope you can get yours fixed so we can see what you've been working on :ok:

Kon-Tiki 02-02-2005 03:19 PM

Some stuff I did while being bored yesterday. Not exactly art, but meh to that.
http://www.abandonia.com/~kon-tiki/Pics/beast.png
And an avatar I made for a friend:
http://www.abandonia.com/~kon-tiki/Pics/kitty.png
Edit: the second one doesn't seem to be uploaded completely, so I took it down and attached it.

taikara 02-02-2005 03:55 PM

My favorite is the smerf!

TheVoid 02-02-2005 03:59 PM

I like the yellow-confusing thing. It's quite hypnotic after couple seconds

Kon-Tiki 02-02-2005 04:17 PM

Really is, isn't it. Spent 15 minutes watching it yesterday before I realized I had to snap out of that... then realized it was already 15 minutes

bohor 02-02-2005 05:05 PM

yellow stuff is the fabest!! :ok:

Kon-Tiki 02-02-2005 11:26 PM

Bored as hell. Another drawing. Should ignore the crap quality, as I suck when I can't use a pen to draw... and even if I can, it's just moderate. Anyways, thingamajingy... dunno what it is. Just doodled around. If anybody wants to name it, be my guest.

wendymaree 03-02-2005 02:51 AM

I really enjoy looking at your work, Kon-Tiki. It's so original, colourful and fun. I always get a buzz from it. I especially like your last one. Sets my imagination going in all directions. This wonderful creature is definitely a 'he'. And boy is he mean, green and lacking dental hygiene. But he's got real personality - he's not plastic - and no prizes for guessing what side of the force he's on. A name? How about Almo? That kind of diffuses the aggressive stance and hints there's another side to this guy. (I reckon he likes to eat jaffas and peanuts - he cracks them open with his pincers.) I suspect he might be a real sucker for a sob story. He might appear nasty, but when someone tells him about that job they just lost and that appartment they'll get thrown out of, he'll slip them a couple of zorkmids - but swear them to secrecy.

You know, Kon-Tiki, with a few more wonderful characters like Almo, you could have a really original and and fun internet comic happening. I want to know more about him. If you're feeling inspired, could you create more of Almo's world? Doesn't matter if your vision is completely different to my interpretation. I'm just curious about this guy you've created.

Kon-Tiki 03-02-2005 04:12 AM

More of those... tried making the complete opposite of that one, which turned out like this:

Kon-Tiki 03-02-2005 04:42 AM

And a third one. I call these my three maniacs :D

taikara 03-02-2005 04:52 AM

I don't have much more to add after wendymaree's wonderfully put reply, but I really enjoy your creative creatures, too. You should definitely put them in context!

Kon-Tiki 03-02-2005 04:58 AM

Time to design a victim then. I think I'll have the first one constantly go bully on it, the second one constantly making psychological stabs, pulling the victim's self-confidence down and giving it a crapload of complexes, the third one just go physical at it all the time with sharp objects.

taikara 03-02-2005 05:08 AM

Go for it! :ok:

Have you ever seen Aqua Teen Hunger Force?

Very creative characters that get into crazy situations. It's very entertaining to watch. I bet that if you created a story to go along with your characters, you could bring your brilliant creativity into a whole new level.

Kon-Tiki 03-02-2005 05:33 AM

And Bleitzor (file has to have a name), the victim.

*Checks the link*

Puffin 03-02-2005 06:00 AM

Aaaaw the victim is so cute!!!!
Poor Bleitzor :(

wendymaree 03-02-2005 07:03 AM

I'm with Puffin there. Bleitzor is gorgeous. You want to pick her up and hug her. They're all great looking characters, but I wish the first three weren't such bullies. However, it's your vision and you've got to be true to that. Doesn't matter what the idea is so much as what you do with it. Staying tuned for next installment. Don't mean to pressure you... :sneaky:

Fawfulhasfury 03-02-2005 02:59 PM

OMG It's too cute!!

troop18546 17-03-2005 05:03 PM

Very nice face expressions you got there, I sallute you. :kosta:

taikara 17-03-2005 05:08 PM

As I said, Tiki, these show great understanding of composition. You have a wonderful technique. It's amazing that you can draw emotional expressions so well. :ok:

I also add my praises, I hope you keep practicing! :kosta: :D

Sean 17-03-2005 10:49 PM

Kon-Tiki's still alive?

I havent seen you in .... months...

Great work i really like the drawings from your geography lesson..

Kon-Tiki 31-03-2005 01:59 AM

Monkey (and no spanking jokes or you'll get smacked)

taikara 31-03-2005 02:11 AM

Great job, Tiki! Your style is definitely improving with practice, the detailing and color choices are nicely done, and the background roXx0rz. :ok:

He kind of reminds me of the main character from this book (which is a great read, btw). :D

But can't forget this guy, either... :bleh:

*ducks and runs for cover* ;)

Kon-Tiki 31-03-2005 02:28 AM

*Smacks softly for the second link*
The Monkey King... got to love that story :D

Kon-Tiki 31-03-2005 03:39 AM

King Squea (don't ask)

Strobe 31-03-2005 08:37 AM

hey kon-tiki, nice to see some new stuff presented here!

you show a nice style, it has a special touch to it, imo!

the page with those different facial expressions is very interesting, but most
of all i like the colored pictures (the monkey rules :D)

give us more of this, please :ok:

Tom Henrik 31-03-2005 01:14 PM

Your drawings rock :D :kosta:

I really liked the monkey, but I could not help it.... sorry....

TaloN 31-03-2005 01:24 PM

MONK3H!!!!!

MONK3H!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111!!!!!!

hehe very nice pieces mate

bohor 31-03-2005 02:13 PM

the fabest! :ok:

Kon-Tiki 31-03-2005 02:14 PM

*smacks Tom* No spank the monkey jokes!

It's weird that nobody mentioned the monkey's undies yet. Anyways, will make some more today, cause I'm rather bored

oh, yeah the undies! Check out the monkey's tools!! :ok:

Kon-Tiki 31-03-2005 02:31 PM

Uhmm... that's the exact reason for those undies... so you wouldn't be able check out the monkey's machinery. Nobody wants to see that, not to mention that I don't want to draw it. Still thought it'd be odd, a monkey in undies.

bohor 31-03-2005 02:33 PM

oh, yea... well I ment the size... it's quite wide, isn't it...?

Luchsen 31-03-2005 03:22 PM

Not house-trained?

Kon-Tiki 31-03-2005 04:22 PM

SNAKE! A SNAKE! OOOOOH, IT'S A SNA-AAAAKE!

taikara 31-03-2005 04:28 PM

Me likey snakes.

This piece is my favorite so far! You're showing a lot more flexibility in your style with each piece, which is really awesome. Not to mention, it is really difficult to "paint" this kind of work on the computer only, and have it turn out nicely. Very well done, Tiki. It's spiftacular. :ok:

More, more, MORE!!! :D

Strobe 31-03-2005 07:30 PM

the snake is simply great!! the look in its eyes and the somewhat relaxed
pose result in a very nice view! i agree with tai, this is the best one so far
and there's a distinct progress sensable throughout your works.

big upz for this, kon-tiki!

Kon-Tiki 31-03-2005 08:20 PM

Walmart fatso.

taikara 31-03-2005 08:22 PM

can't... properly... respond...

laughing too hard! :D

*dies*

Dreadlord 31-03-2005 08:27 PM

That's my favorite next to King Squea, pure genius man.

Strobe 31-03-2005 10:44 PM

kon-tiki, this is getting better and better...*chokes while laughing to hard* :Brain:
this is AWESOME!!!

DeathDude 01-04-2005 01:15 PM

Sean 01-04-2005 02:14 PM

WOW

Your work has really improved =D

Good Job!

Reup 01-04-2005 03:24 PM

I know that guy, he lives across the street from me! You captured his essence there Kon-Tiki :) :ok:

:ot:
Oh, I found you something to ask for your next birthday:
Big Tiki USB drive!

wendymaree 01-04-2005 03:33 PM

The Walmart man was awesome. You know, Kon-Tiki, I think everyone's encouragement has really spurred you on to great things. :ok:

Kon-Tiki 01-04-2005 03:36 PM

Thanks all :) Been working on some more stuff, but really lack experience on how to properly draw limbs. Their proportions seem fine, I guess, but there's something with them that makes them crappy, and can't put my finger on what it is exactly. Anybody got any idea? I'll attach the work in progress...

@ReupWoah! Just.... woah! I wish my comp looked like that instead of like a nightstand :w00t: Too bad I'm not good enough in woodswork to make a case like that.

Edit:Woops, forgot the attachment

TheVoid 01-04-2005 05:02 PM

Great stuff Raf! You rock! :ok:

Love the Walmart fatso....and know where you took inspiration from (s=s=s ;) )

About the work-in-progress....I think the arms should be a bit longer.

Something like this:

http://www.wetcanvas.com/ArtSchool/D...esson2/mp5.jpg

Kon-Tiki 18-08-2005 11:43 PM

't Took ages, but got some new stuff: Sig & avvie combo, this time. Too bad the transparencies don't come out right, but just appear as white fields.
Avvie:

Sig:

BeefontheBone 19-08-2005 12:35 AM

rather nice, but don't they qualify as swearing (albeit mildly)?

Fawfulhasfury 19-08-2005 12:50 AM

Yes they do, afraid you can't use them so you'll have to change it unfortunately, though I do like it but its not really calvin so I can't like it as a calvin and hobbes fan. :P

taikara 19-08-2005 03:32 AM

great job, Tiki, did you pixel them from scratch? :ok:

They are kind of vulgar though :P

But I took the liberty of fixing the transparency for you:

avvie:

taikara 19-08-2005 03:34 AM

sorry for the double post, but can't post more than one attachment :P

Here's the sig... I hope you don't mind that I did this :)

Himmler 19-08-2005 03:39 AM

hehe i love that sig and that avvie.gj! :ok:

I've pixeled the borders and bolts from scratch, but used a source pic for Calvin, of which I removed some parts (he's originally peeing on something) and spruced it up a bit (white speckles 'round the border). 't Was quite hard to find a decent peeing guy, actually, and although that's not the real Calvin, it's the best one I could find

As for minding you fixing the transparencies... I appreciate it. Thanks for that  Dunno how I should take care of them, though, as I did put them as transparant in the pic.

Tom Henrik 19-08-2005 09:34 AM

HAHAHAHA! LOL

Gotta love that sig and avvie :D

As for the arms of yours. As Void said, you should try to make them a bit longer, and also a bit thicker. However, I really enjoy the drawings the way they are now (with tiny arms). They look awesome :D :D

Kon-Tiki 19-08-2005 10:03 AM

After that mention of pixel-painting, I've looked for some old stuff I did 'bout a year and a half ago. Here're my two favourites: a Rock-Paper-Scissors monster (his throw appeared on his belly) and a guy.

http://www.abandonia.com/~kon-tiki/Friendsstuff/RPS.png

http://www.abandonia.com/~kon-tiki/Friendsstuff/Guy.png

't Is all done pixel per pixel, so no gradient tool or anything used for it. Flood-tool with solid colour's the only thing used other than the pen-tool.

Tom Henrik 19-08-2005 11:38 AM

They seem to be twins. At least their expressions. :D

That kid you made is amazing, really. Was he used in a game?

Kon-Tiki 19-08-2005 11:41 AM

Map for an online game. That guy was used on floor 3, a version in a purple suit on floor 6 and a version in a red suit on floor 9, each of them asking a riddle. They're the Riddler Bros.

Kon-Tiki 22-08-2005 09:19 PM

Made a new sig and avatar set. If anybody finds these inapproriate as well, they can bloody well piss off. Anyways, here they are:
Avatar:

Sig:

Urbanraven 22-08-2005 09:30 PM

your art is very colourfull and bright... I like the 3 maniacs (if that was theyr name) . good job :ok: :kosta:

Sean 23-08-2005 10:22 AM

You was told to remove your sig?

Pathetic!

That sig.. was humourous :)

Ah well, can't say im as fond of this one.

Why not just replace 'Piss Off' with 'Kon-Tiki'?

TheVoid 23-08-2005 11:27 AM

I personally like the actual one a bit more...taken from a great game, as well :ok:

Doc Adrian 23-08-2005 12:10 PM

I like the new siggy :ok:

blastradius14 24-08-2005 01:02 AM

Yeah, the new sig is like the sig before last, yet better and more forward. The more descriptive in quality the better.

Kon-Tiki 25-08-2005 01:59 AM

Something I made for Puffin. I'm not too happy 'bout the result... doesn't seem right. I tried giving it all a futuristic, metalic look, but the background... bleh. It should be darker, but I can't get it darker, and gray with a blue shine.
http://www.abandonia.com/~kon-tiki/F...stuff/Puff.png

Another version's a bit better, but still not what it should be.
http://www.abandonia.com/~kon-tiki/F...tuff/Puff2.png

Sean 25-08-2005 02:22 AM

Tiki Man!

Good sigs. Can you not do a metalic 'texture' and then create a new layer with a blue omni.. and fade them?

Also, try adding some nuts bults.. scratches etc .. always makes it look more metal.

I will try and create a metal sig later to show what I mean.

Puffin 25-08-2005 06:28 AM

Oy man, thank you :D that sig kicks a**!!! :w00t:

Doc Adrian 25-08-2005 11:32 AM

Love Puffins new Signature! Good work Tiki!

Kon-Tiki 03-09-2005 12:35 AM

It's a screenshot of something I've been working on lately. Redid all the graphics today, and it now looks like that.

blastradius14 03-09-2005 02:27 AM

Ha! No, it was a chocolate eclair in his pocket LOL

It's great :ok:

Data 03-09-2005 01:42 PM

looks pretty!
maybe the frog will turn into a handsome knight :)

Kon-Tiki 03-09-2005 02:31 PM

I need to practice my pixel-skills more if that's a frog. 't Was supposed to be a dragon :D

Kon-Tiki 04-09-2005 01:45 AM

On a sidenote... this game's engine's written. Some minor code cleanup, adding some things that would be cool, but aren't necessary and making the levels and some more tilesets, but the game itself works fine as it is now.
