http://www.superliminal.com/cube/cube.htm four dimensional

http://www.gravitation3d.com/magiccube5d/ five dimensional

good luck

Blood-Pigggy 09-06-2006 04:56 PM

Holy Jesus, I didn't even know there were so many dimensions.

This 5d one is screwed up.

Kosta 09-06-2006 05:10 PM

I can't believe 4 people actually managed to solve the 3^5 version  I wonder how many days it took to solve that. Considering the fact I never even tried to tackle the regular 3d one, I think I'll skip these :P

Mighty Midget 09-06-2006 05:45 PM

Sweet Mary! I can tell just by the images that I would be as successful as an armless caber tosser.

Abi79 09-06-2006 06:53 PM

I've only played the 4D one, but even that one was... :tai:

Danny252 09-06-2006 06:58 PM

Just trying to understand 4/5d hurts my head...

win98 09-06-2006 07:22 PM

I dont get the 4d one how are you supossed to change it.

Mighty Midget 09-06-2006 07:42 PM

Rclick or Lclick on one of the small cubes. Trial and error is a way to find out. Notice that it matters which cube you click. Also, read the help note at the lower left.

Stroggy 09-06-2006 09:26 PM

I have no time for easily mastered games like these.

Quintopotere 10-06-2006 08:04 AM

That guys are just insane!

I feel so depressed all the times I try to solve the classic Rubick cube... Definitely I'm not gonig to try those ones!

Someone I know studies theoretical physics, and is graduating on string theory. He says most of the things he does only work in TEN dimensions... Way too abstract for me... :wallbash:

And as for those puzzles...

Mighty Midget 10-06-2006 08:53 AM

I guess it's safe to say those cubes are really only in 3D. Add time, and you get the 4th. Not that this makes them any easier to solve... :whistling:

About 4 or more dimensions in space: I propose a world wide ban on more than 3 dimensions.
We don't need them.
They only mess things up.
Things worked fine until they showed up :sos:
Let's face it, they are nothing but trouble

Join the "3D Liberation Army" TODAY! :titan:

Oh, and I never solved the ol' Cube either... :tomato:

As far as I know, the dimensions added beyond the third (apart form time) aren't real dimensions! Those are just "mathematical fiction" used in matrix calculations (like the use of "tensors" to solve relativity... )
It's almost like in those 4/5-D cubes, which are however tridimensional! ;)

#BlakhOle# 10-06-2006 11:30 AM

I took one look at the 4D one and gave up :bleh:

U-Boat Commander David 10-06-2006 12:30 PM

I'm even way to Stupid to Solve the 3d one...

Who managed it to Solve the 5d one must have either Jedi Powers or been more intelligent than Steven Hawking... :tai:

Someone actually managed to solve it? :w00t: Wow...

U-Boat Commander David 10-06-2006 12:45 PM

I dunno... :tomato:

It's even worse then I thought... I just read on wikipedia:

In bosonic string theories, the 26 dimensions come from the Polyakov equation (see technical details in the preprint "Quantum Geometry of Bosonic Strings - Revisited"). We'll have to wait a while before someone makes a 26D-Rubiks cube I guess :D

I didnt even understand the wikiquote, how'my sposed to do the puzzle?

Ignore that hooey, and see it as an ordinary, old fashioned 3D puzzle. It is confusing, but there are only 3 dimensions here, really.

I'd say those scientists had too much coffee with too much sugar in it. Beside being barking mad, of course...

TheGiantMidgit 11-06-2006 11:56 AM

Yea, it's totally 3d. The 4d and 5d labels just make it seem more intimidating I guess.

Well, I dunno, I'm not exactly a quantum physicist.

_r.u.s.s. 11-06-2006 12:44 PM

actually there are 2 dimmensions on your screen=P

Playbahnosh 11-06-2006 02:30 PM

augh... that 5D cube makes me dizzy just looking at it. There is no question why we live in a 3D world now ;)
