Full Throttle [LucasArts]

That is the game that I most want to see. It is hard to find it. Please find it for me I love this game!!!!

Kosta 15-03-2004 07:22 PM

Gladly, but its still being sold by LucasArts unfortunately :(

xndr2181 05-08-2004 10:08 PM

Full throttle rocks!

This is another game I'd love to see posted on this site, but as was afore mentioned it isn't abondonware...but that doesn't always stop people,

I understand, I don't ever want you guys getting in trouble cause then I wouldn't know where to go to get my abondonware!! :D . Does anyone know why lucasarts are so anoying about their abondonware? And further more, which lucasart games are abondonware?

Havell 06-08-2004 07:10 PM

As far as I know, the only abandoned Lucusarts game is Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, I have stopped liking lucasarts ever since thay cancelled Sam and Max 2 :pissed: :wall: Me---> :AR:  <---George Lucas

xndr2181 06-08-2004 07:13 PM

Great animations by the way!! Yeah, I think I have a few of them on my computer, monkey island 1 and 2, loom, indian jones fate of atlantis and last crusade. Speaking of which, for all the people who are big indian jones fate of atlantis fans, you didn't hear this from me, but you can get fate of atlantis off the internet. I'm not sure where I got it, but it was really hard to find. It runs great though!!

Tom Henrik 06-08-2004 07:16 PM

Bah.

Personally I have dicovered that LucasArts games are some of the easiest to find on the net. 8)

Just too bad we can't place them on this site.

I agree, it will be hard enough to keep the site up now, without risking putting games for download, we know aren't abondonware...

Well I don't want you guys getting in trouble, and yea, I hate it when I finally find a game I've been searching for, and then I find out it's in another language!! :wall: Side note, why is lucasarts so anoying when it comes to releasing abondonware? They know they can't make money on the games anymore, but they keep em. When will they realize that by making the old games abondonware it helps get them customers who are then interested in their stuff? Oh well, I guess some people will never learn when it comes to free downloading...

Tip noted

Daryl 01-02-2005 04:12 PM

Thanks for the tip, I'll edit it now!!!

Sebatianos 01-02-2005 05:29 PM

Now that's a great game to have!
I'd love to buy it... again!
It's not the best LucasArt's adventure, but it's the one with their roughest main character!

Black angel 01-02-2005 06:08 PM

I remember I played this game 6 years ago. I really liked it. :)

Daryl 01-02-2005 07:30 PM

Ah I remember grabbing that barman by the nose ring and slamming him straight onto the table. And kicking the piano... LOL. Ah well... pssst if you want to buy it I see Ebay sells em cheap.

wormpaul 01-02-2005 08:06 PM

You mean the bit on the bikes? I loved that bit, mind you it's been ages since I played but it was great fun once you got the hang of it. It's definitely a novel idea in a 2d adventure game to have an arcadey bit in the middle.

Not really. They used stuff like that back in the old days - even before the 2D adventures. Anyone rember Wanda for C64  .

And there was off course Indian Jones - and all his boxing,...

Kon-Tiki 02-02-2005 07:19 PM

Astro Chicken and the skimmer racing in Space Quest, the shooting range in Police Quest, Manhunter in its whole (adventure game existing out of nothing but arcade games :D )

JJXB 02-02-2005 07:31 PM

just beause you don't know about the c64, it doesn't mean other younger people (like me) don't know about it (i played the c64 a lot when i was younger :P)

Anubis is one of the few people here (I'm another) that are problably real hard-core C64 gamers (although Anubis is a greater Amiga fan). Oh, and we musn't forget marko_river...

So trust me, he was just joking with that post. I know he know the game The Fabulous Wanda - I'm sure he does!

JoeMataius 17-02-2005 01:48 AM

Hi just so you know I'm new here, but I have one requests. Just one. Sorry about the mix up. I am stupid.

Full Throttle

I am pretty sure that they are not supported anymore. The only thing on LucasArts on Full Throttle is LucasArts Full Throttle.

You could see it in the rules..

Full Throttle is still being sold everywhere.....and will not be abandonned for a long time :not_ok:

leppertj 08-12-2005 10:43 PM

Help! While laid up after having four wisdom teeth removed I was
looking to play some nostalgia-inspiring games and went looking for my
old Full Throttle CD (the biker gang game). Lucky for me, I found it but it has a crack in one side making it unplayable...

Anyone care to zip the contents of their CD and send it to me via a
file sending service -- streamload.com or similar -- I really want to play this game for some reason!!

A paypal reward would be included for the kind soul, I would purchase
off ebay but I am rather inpatient!!

Thanks,

Jon

BeefontheBone 08-12-2005 10:47 PM

So, what you're asking for is that someone pirates the game for you? We don't take kindly to that sort of thing around here, mister.

I don't really consider it pirating because I already own a copy of the game legally, bought and paid for, albeit damaged.

The game itself is over 15 years old.

Sheesh!!!

moogle 08-12-2005 10:51 PM

ya beef "sheesh!"
LOL, I wouldn't ask for that kind of stuff around here man, just buy a new copy, it should only be like 10 dollars, maybe 16 dollars for a compilation of Lucasarts oldies, well worth the cost.

The point of my asking here is that the game is no longer locally available, and I am laid up after surgery. The game itself is pratically abandonware. I am already bidding on a new copy on ebay ($5), but that's going to take at least a week (probably a few weeks) to get here.

I figured there would be a kind soul on one of these boards, even for a small paypal donation by myself for his/her time and effort. I didn't mean to unearth the wrath of the anti-pirating right wing when I've never pirated a game myself ever, period.

Oh well, sorry for offending anyone and if anyone still wants to help me out, please let me know.

I'll paypal someone $20 -- twice the cost for a new copy -- just to show I am not a "video game pirate"!!

Eva02Soul 09-12-2005 10:05 AM

There is no such thing as Practically abandonware. Being abandoned is not really an official status for software, being practically abandoned is just bizarre.

I have the talkie version on CD which i got from the Lucasarts collection. However, unless you can provide some evidence that you do actually own a copy of this, I won't help you. Sorry.

The Fifth Horseman 09-12-2005 11:00 AM

Sorry, but it's Lucasarts and thus ESA-protected. No-go.

If you have a good internet connection, you might want to try some P2P network to locate a copy.

leppertj 10-12-2005 12:49 AM

I finally was able to find someone online through another forum that was kind enough to send me a copy of the CD, and because of that, they are now $20 richer.

Thanks for all the stuffed shirts here who stood up for poor Lucas Arts' 15 year old out of print copyright. Heaven forbid one of your guy's CDs gets a crack in it. You'd think this was a forum for RIAA supporters, the way I was attacked for fair use.

Besides that, IMO, if a game has been out of print for some time, is not publically available, and the company has no future plans for the game, it should enter the public domain.

JimmyJ 10-12-2005 12:54 AM

Don't be mad at me, but its not legal, although I hate lucasart's abandonware stance :P

Eva02Soul 10-12-2005 06:50 AM

Oh, bravo. You sign on to an abandonware site to get somebody to break the law for you, you show no evidence to back up any of your claims, and then you get angry at us because we rightfully told you where to shove it. That's good thinking there, slim.

I really hope you enjoy Full Throttle, because you have just reported in your last post that while having full knowledge of a game's legal status, you paid money to somebody to get an illegal copy of it anyway.

It's not illegal, it's called fair use. I already paid for copyrighted work and the associated license, it's the physical media onto which that work was written that was destroyed, that does not destroy the original license of my rights to use the copyright. It's called fair use, so, before you post in with your two cents, maybe you should have at least a somewhat informed or at least half-way sensical opinion.

Fair use also allows you to a backup copy of the original media, which I should have made in this case.

As for the proof part, I would be glad to e-mail someone a picture of my original Full Throttle CD, broken and all.

As I say again, Sheesh!!

Eva02Soul 11-12-2005 08:02 AM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use

You're right. I knew nothing about the laws of a country not mine, but now I do. After reading through the whole article. I still don't see just how you can justify taking 100% of a product that is still being legitimately sold online. (for half what you paid for your zip files, i might add) and making it yours. Also, it's funny that the article never even seemed to mention owning a previous copy of said work making it okay. In fact, it seems that free use law pertain to taking an old work and using a certain percentage of it in a new work. Interesting.

And that's it, I push any harder i'm liable to get warned or something, which I don't want right now, so I request that this thing be closed because the original topic has already been resolved.
