Isn't this somekind of remake. I'm sure I have played an older game, that was exactly similar, except for the graphics. I can't find anything about it in the review or the official webpage.? :(

Actualy some years ago i bought a BG PC magazine with milenium edition - 100 full games. Nost of them were crap but there I found Dink and I loved it :D

I think it was an inside joke. When I played that game there was a file with quotes from the developers. Sounds like they got a strong sense of humor.

Too bad that little 'inside joke' pulled down the quality of the ending for me

So, in terms of gameplay, is this game more like Fallout, Morrowind or Baldur's Gate? Just curious. I like the open-ended stuff like Morrowind and Fallout where you actually define your character from the start and the overall quest is somewhat customizable or secondary.

I just found a frustrating BUG in the game..

On the moment that i`m in the camp of the trolls and defeat those 4 bastards ill get enough xp to go to level 6 (if i`m right...coulds also be higher)

At that moment the game crashes and it's all gone...really frustrfating...happends already twice to me :not_ok:

Yeh I remember being stuck there aswell twice.

Once it crashed and the other time the Big Chief or whatever didn't come out of his tent as he should.

Don't remember how i solved it I'm afraid to say :(

I really like this game... :) it's well worth the download... You can make a mod of it with the tools and there's enough of tutorials and other people that can help you. There are a lot of dmod's (dink mods) out there so this game actually never ends... :D

I once downloaded the Mili Vanili Mod and saw nothing new :blink: Maybe I should try something other

For some reason I always hated this game.

I never really liked this game, because this is really crappy action/adventure rpg. But it was really fun to do that duck quest and kill the duck in front of that old woman.

I remember this game. 'Twas authored by the same guy who created the BBS door Legend of the Red Dragon. One game made using the Dink Smallwood engine was an Arkanoid clone called Dinkanoid, that was my favorite. Its gameplay was irritating, but just the fact that someone had the knack to turn an action RPG into a ball-and-paddle game just made me :D.

The author, Seth Able, was such a dink himself, that he included CD-audio of music from Final Fantasy VII on the initial run of Dink Smallwood commercial cd-roms. Due to legal issues, this was soon corrected.

This game is great. I have it on this cd thing which has lots of freeware etc...but i have never ever played it trough...

I was just wondering is this compatible with Windows 98 ?

It seems fun but for me the controls are insanly sencitive. I can just tap the arrow key and he goes flying halfway across the screen. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

The game really isn't that great, in my opinion no way near a foru, its very funny and all, but the fact that your guy goes super fast and that everytime you run into a monster it does X dmg per millisecond the game just turns into a hit, run away, hit, run away, fest.
Its good as freeware, but as a actuall game it stinks.

I loved this game, it's the best game I've downloaded from abandonia. It wasn't exactly "immersive" as far as RPG's go, the world was kind of small & there wasn't a whole lot to the game. But the humor had me L'ingOL on several occasions. I didn't think the gameplay was too bad either. If only it was a bigger game with more upgrades/stats & whatnot, it would be perfect. I can't beat the guy at the end though.

This is a great action/rpg freeware game. It has a unique felling and good humor. The main story is very good but a little short. You can download thought many other stories(DMODs as they say them)from net. One of the best freeware games around right now I can say.

I agree completely. I had a lot of fun with Dink, and DMods is a great invention and it certainly adds new dimensions to the game.

Does anyone could buy the best BOW in the game? It costs soo much I culdn't get enugh money anytime :cry:

Yup, bought it by getting money from the duck island fights. ( Does anyone know about that place? ) I don`t remember how much damage it does, but I remember that you can`t use bow lore with it.

But I agree it's not really quite RPG like you don't have many choices in the game...except the ones for fun like killing people you don't have to but that doesn't influence the game at all......WHY CAN'T I KILL EVERYONE??? :ranting: every guy I guess and remain the only man in the world.. :whistle: I only tried a MOD about some island with robots but....you can feel that it's a game made just for fun not really finished in every part of it....which cand make it even more fun to play...it's not a COMMERCIAL :not_ok: game

Dink Smallwood, yeah, that's fairly old. It must've been released 7 or 8 years ago, possibly more. I have some pretty fond memories of that game. It's definately unique in it's humor. :amused:

I thought that this game was pretty much crap, back then when it was released too. Or after it was released as freeware a year or 2 after the original release.

It's just hit-n-run combat with a boring generic story, the humour's not that funny either, I wouldn't play this game thorugh just to hear a couple of semi-funny things.

Yeah, the game maybe was a little crappy, but I liked it nonetheless. It has a certain charm that gives the playing experience a definitely fun factor :)

The game is still crappy. Control system is awful and "humor" is like...bizare.

Yeah, and they couldn't give it a proper ending... but I had fun playing it...

This game got me through many long hours of work. Wish I hadn't spent so much time trying to be better when the ending was cut short with no major climax. -fin- that's basically what it did. regardless i had fun until it was over

on my machine with the XP-patch it runs way too fast :( unable to play that way :cry:
