Can you post them?

wormpaul 17-02-2005 08:55 AM

Both still sold :not_ok:

win98 23-10-2005 07:45 PM

Hi guys i was wonder ing is duke nukem 1 abandonware? Because I have it along with duke nukem 2 and 3 right here on disk. If it is i will see if Kosta want's it for the site.

A. J. Raffles 23-10-2005 07:56 PM

Still sold, I'm afraid. And even if it weren't, it would probably be ESA-protected.

Bradley 23-10-2005 08:46 PM

hahahaha, if you were cool like me and got Duke Nukem 3D Complete Version on Cd for your birthday in 1997, then you would have Duke Nukem 1 & 2 on that same cd. heheheheh!

win98 23-10-2005 09:41 PM

I do Silly

Mr.Snuggles 23-10-2005 09:59 PM

Got the same CD. :D

win98 23-10-2005 10:13 PM

well actually i got mine this year for 99 cents new zealand money
but i thought it would be abandonware now

Bradley 23-10-2005 11:37 PM

No, it's 3d Realms, they are Apogee. Apogee are cheap bastards that don't give any of their classics out.

Tom Henrik 24-10-2005 12:24 AM

Bradley, I am getting fed up by your attitute!

Stop bashing companies. Stop attacking people who try to help you. And stop telling people to upload whatever they have!!

You need to learn what Abandonware means, and start treating people (not to mention game companies and ESA) with respect!

Stop behaving like a spoiled kid in a toystore.

moogle 24-10-2005 01:10 AM

Seriously yes.
And Bradley, if you really want the game that bad, just go out and buy it, can't be more then $10 and you'd probly get the first couple along with it...
Duke Nukem (Amazon)
Duke Nukem (Ebay)

Tom Henrik 24-10-2005 01:35 AM

Or simply go to the makers:

Duke Nukem I $ 10.00
Duke Nukem II $ 10. 00
Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition $ 19.95

moogle 24-10-2005 03:21 AM

That works too!
:ok:

Wika_woo 25-10-2005 12:44 AM

yeah I got that CD too still ! .. :ok: DN 3D !

Bradley 25-10-2005 08:29 PM

Ummm, I already have the Entire Duke Nukem Series.

gallez 05-01-2006 08:45 PM

Could you place the FULL version of Duke Nukem 3D on your server so that everyone can download it? Pleeeease... :)

BeefontheBone 05-01-2006 08:50 PM

Erm, no? It's most certainly not abandonware, and besides would be enormous.

punch999 06-01-2006 12:55 AM

It would be the same size as Blood (which we have). And no its not Abandonware so can't happen. Try out Blood of you like, same enigne as Duke, and lots of fun.

Kearnsy 08-01-2006 02:42 AM

Wow, the same size! i wouldn't have thought that.
I loved that game though...shame.

Eagle of Fire 08-01-2006 03:14 AM

It would definitly not be that big. I remember having it copied on several disketes back in the day.

Dave 17-07-2007 09:41 PM

No way, still sold after 2 years...10 dollars

NO because it's still sold, but size isn't a problem now, there's always Iso cellar ;)

Duke Nukem 3D [3Drealms]

I would like to see It here on abandonia...
Bit stronger.. i already have it! full version with plutonium pack (expansion) added
I could send you the file... but i dont know how to :(
If you guys would like to see it here  please post

D4NG3R 24-05-2008 07:52 PM

Btw

Im not sure if this game is abandoned... the source code is already released (2003) but im not sure if its OK to share the FULL game for free :oh::confused:

The Fifth Horseman 24-05-2008 08:21 PM

We can't seem to go a few months without this request being repeated.
Quote:

And your doubt is justified. The source code might have been made public domain, but the game also has other content (eg sprites, level designs, music and so on), which is still copyrighted.

Either way, the game is Still Sold.
[REJECTED]

D4NG3R 24-05-2008 08:25 PM

We no longer sell the old registered version, we only sell the Atomic Edition. Furthermore, in October of 2001, the Plutonium PAK was discontinued. Contact Customer Support for more information about this.

Not true completely, it isnt sold anymore! not even the newest edit

_r.u.s.s. 24-05-2008 08:42 PM

hmm, this sounds kinda interesting, how's that nobody noticed this before?

I saw this when the fifth horseman gave the link to the page :amused:, go look for yourself if you dont trust me (i think you do trust me tho :P)

D4NG3R 24-05-2008 08:55 PM

If you guys are sure you want to put it on your site... i could still send it :noworry: (i dont have the link to the site... its around 3 YEARS ago that i downloaded it... i do have the file (unmodded) so i could send that to one of you)

The Fifth Horseman 24-05-2008 09:05 PM

The joy of badly worded official sites...

The buy link should be:
http://3drealms.stores.yahoo.net/duknuk3dated.html
Baseline DN3D is no longer sold, nor is the Plutonium Pak add-on.
However, DN3D Atomic Edition incorporates both. As such, both are considered sold. :(

D4NG3R 24-05-2008 09:13 PM

To bad :(:(

Duke Nukem 3D [GoG] [3DRealms]

Well, we all know that the Duke Nukem 3D is still being sold in its 'Atomic Edition' form, and that Blood has been returned to abandonware status. However, what about the expansion packs for these two games? Are any of these able to pass the Abandonia qualifications test? I know Monolith doesn't sell them, and neither does 3D Realms. I've checked Amazon.com, and the ones that are listed are being sold by third party users in the Amazon Marketplace (not Amazon themselves). I also did searches on CD Access for all of them, and came up empty.

The Fifth Horseman 14-06-2008 09:42 AM

Are the DN3D expansion packs standalone or do they require the main game?
As for Blood expansions, IIRC there is some sort of compilation still sold. Not sure.

_r.u.s.s. 14-06-2008 10:17 AM

even if it wasn't standalo and it requied the main game it wouldn't matter, the packs are not sold, you still have to buy the original and then you somehow need to get the expansion (which is not sold anymore)

The Coop 14-06-2008 05:23 PM

All three Duke expansions, and both Blood expansions, need their respective original games to be played. I also looked up Blood: One Unit Whole Blood (the collection you were talking about TFH), and it's only sold by third party sellers in the Amazon Marketplace. CD Access doesn't appear to have it at all.

I also did more research, and found out that WizardWorks Software shut their doors in 2004, and Sunstorm Interactive closed in 2003.

For non-standalone expansions, if the parent game is not safe for AB the expansion is not considered to be either (even if by itself it satisfies the requirements).

_r.u.s.s. 14-06-2008 08:39 PM

why?=S maybe i'm missing something

The Fifth Horseman 14-06-2008 10:11 PM

Because they require a copy of the parent game to run, and that we cannot offer for d/l.
If we put up the expansion by itself, we'd be bound to get hordes of morons asking where to get the parent game from - or worse, posting links to places it can be obtained illegally from.

The Coop 14-06-2008 10:12 PM

So the Duke ones are a no go, but the Blood ones are (possibly) good to go?

Talin 15-06-2008 10:36 AM

dammit, and i always wanted to play the duke expansions.

_r.u.s.s. 15-06-2008 10:53 AM

i dunno.. maybe we could approve it for iso cellar? there are not that many stupid people who are given the access...

Dave 15-06-2008 12:46 PM

I would say no for Duke Nukem 3D expansions.

Blood Expansion Cryptic Passage is sold: Link
There are 3 copies, those aren't sold by third party users in the Amazon Marketplace, right?

There are only used copies for Plasma Pak, perhaps this one can be considered as abandonware.

Actually, those are third party sellers. You can tell because they're in the Market Place, and it doesn't say "sold and shipped by Amazon.com" anywhere. Just like eBay sellers find new copies and put them up, so do Market Place sellers. We don't count the eBay sellers who get a new copy to sell from what I've seen, so I guess my question would be, why should we count the Market Place sellers?

There is a discussion about that in Admin forum. At present, we have reached an effective stalemate and are waiting for word from Kosta on how he would like this to be resolved.

Really? I'm interested in hearing what those who are pro Amazon Marketplace (in terms of deciding what can and can't be posted here) had to say.

And just for the record, I have no idea why I put a space in 'Marketplace". I blame the sleep loss from the night before :amused:

"Those"? You're overrating the enthusiasm of the admin team, apparently.
Three people took part. First said yes, second said no, third chose to abstain.

Sounds thrilling enough to be on CSpan 2

The Coop 16-08-2008 12:11 AM

Well, Blood's back on the site. So what about the status of its two expansions? Are they allowed, and if so, does anyone have them to share?

Dave 16-08-2008 11:48 AM

First I've found this old and interesting support page that contains patches => http://blood.lith.com/fix2.asp

Second, I've checked the expansions again, but there is still the Amazon doubt and Kosta hasn't answered yet.

With the recent announcement, I'm giving this thread a bump. I know that the Duke 3D expansions are a no go, but what of the Blood expansions?

Kalrak 15-01-2009 09:50 AM

Or before we start to conquest to universe.
(It's actually quite realistic that it will happen in 1 - 200 years).
