Lots of favourites, it's hard to choose just one, but I'll try to keep this list short. These are not in any particular order.

CORRUPTED - Probably the heaviest band in the world. Sludge Doom from Japan.

JOY DIVISION - Best post-punk groups ever. I love the gloomy atmosphere.

BURZUM - Self-explanatory, the feeling is astonishing. Pretty much the band that introduced me to deeper music.

DEATH IN JUNE - One of the strangest neofolk acts ever, their all albums are great.

DARKTHRONE - Legendary black metal. I like both the old stuff and the new albums.

Catwafer 18-11-2008 03:55 AM

Unexpect.
Symphonic black metal, with a hint of jazz.
Loves it, I do.

I hate it when black metal bands do the whole corpsepaint thing. Read: Darkthrone (no offense)

Mighty Midget 18-11-2008 01:34 PM

No real fav bands as such, since I listen to a lot of different music, from classical, gypsy swing, jazz to punk, oi! and some HC. Some bands are played more than others though, bands/artists like AC/DC, Motorhead, **** SParrer, Cockney Rejects, Toy Dolls, Sam Cooke and Tom Waits.

I've posted here before, but swoosh:

Dan Deacon and Adventure be me favorite at the moment

The Bard 25-08-2009 01:24 AM

One and only Pink Floyd.

There are a lot of great bands I love, but none are worth mentioning next to these giants. When Rick and Sid died, so did a part of my heart... :'(

And btw Ian, Ting Tings do rule...

ShiverMeSideways 26-08-2009 05:39 PM

Top three bands of all-time, my influences in everything I play and compose: Metallica, Pink Floyd, and Nine Inch Nails. Not in particular order...

Guitar-wise, I'd have to say Frank Zappa, Marty Friedman, and of course, David Gilmour. Also, unfortunately, Kirk Hammett... He's great and all, but I just inherited his style without me wanting it; I think it's due to fiddling around in just the one scale and using a wah pedal too much... Anyhoo, :rocks: .

Also, I resonate with The Bard. When I heard Rick Wright died, I felt really sad... R.I.P. and thank you for your beautiful music, Rick. The thing that really breaks my strings is that Lennon, Wright, Barrett, Cliff Burton, and oh so many talented musicians are dead and BRITNEY SPEARS LIVES! Argh!

The Bard 27-08-2009 09:24 AM

We can solve that, you buy 2 plane tickets, I'll get a shotgun and we'll visit Britney.

ShiverMeSideways 27-08-2009 10:49 AM

That would be much abliged, kind stranger... (did I spell that right?)

Spartan Pride 05-10-2009 09:12 PM

Brand New - Lyric-wise, the best band I've ever heard. They change sound with every album, but are consistent in releasing great albums. Incredibly popular for a band that does little-to-no advertising.

Other favorite bands include Death Cab For Cutie, Nirvana, Escape the Fate, Weezer, Billy Talent and Hawthorne Heights.

hunvagy 27-10-2009 08:05 PM

I just stick with Stratovarius and Siam Shade :3:

Mighty Midget 30-10-2009 09:39 PM

For some reason, these days I love having my morning coffee and cig as Elvis Costello sings a few songs. "She said she was working for the ABC News. It was as much of the alphabet she knew how to use" :D Gotta love it!

kendricktamis 27-03-2010 05:06 AM

My favourite bands are:

1. Mettalica
2. Linkin park
3. Pink floyd
4. Bon jovi
5. Coldplay

Josefsson 29-03-2010 11:24 AM

Bejelith 01-07-2010 10:18 PM

Among old classics...

-Alice Cooper
-Manowar
-Megadeth
-Savatage
-Billy Idol (He's a band! Well, whenever he plays live...)

...as well as:

-Blind Guardian
-Falconer
-Primordial
-Emperor
-Orphaned Land

Maxor127 02-07-2010 07:19 AM

It might be easier if I go by decade:

2000s: Queens of the Stone Age
90s: Stone Temple Pilots (Alice in Chains is up there too as well as many others)
80s: The Police
70s: Pink Floyd
60s: I'm going to break away from my usual choices (The Doors or The Beatles) and say The Rolling Stones

I don't listen to anything before the 60s.
