Japo 06-01-2009 05:05 PM

It takes one minute getting to know a man.

hahajejeje 06-01-2009 05:13 PM

...mmm.. Vanilla Sky?

Japo 06-01-2009 11:14 PM

No.

Hint: it's a Western.

laiocfar 07-01-2009 04:02 AM

An approximation on the year?

hahajejeje 07-01-2009 12:40 PM

Maybe?

is the movie:
O.K Corral? no?

Japo 07-01-2009 06:54 PM

Nope.

Exact year or release: 1959

SlowCoder 07-01-2009 07:10 PM

Sounds like it might be a John Wayne film.

"Get outta here, ya filthy varmint!"

Japo 07-01-2009 07:15 PM

Hint: It does not feature John Wayne.

It's hard but there are quite some hints now... Being a Western oldie and not featuring Mr. Wayne, that discards LOTS of possibilities.

Still hundreds left though :p

EDIT: Hint: Starred by one famous actor though, for sure. Not one of MM's stravaganzas. :bleh:

SlowCoder 07-01-2009 07:21 PM

Henry Fonda?

Japo 07-01-2009 07:33 PM

Nnnope. :P

laiocfar 07-01-2009 07:52 PM

The only movie in my repertory that match your description in High Noon... The problem is that there is a very small repertory.

Japo 07-01-2009 08:20 PM

Doesn't match since it was released in 1952 ;)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044706/

EDIT: Hint: Not Gary Cooper either... Running out of names? :)

EDIT:
Hint: This movie isn't really a megahit like High Noon or many by Wayne... Not really an obscure flick either. One not so successful big production. Quite lyrical in comparison to most...
The hero (performed by a famous actor as I said) is kind of an anti-hero actually... Before the final act at least...
Can't think of more hints that aren't giveaways, there's already quite some defining information on the table, will give you time to investigate, see you tomorrow evening folks.

laiocfar 08-01-2009 03:21 AM

That antiheroic hero is called Shane?

Japo 08-01-2009 05:33 PM

No, but good try. Shane is lyrical, the sentence fits it even...

But Shane was very successful, was released in 1953...

OK if someone had watched it he'd have answered, so
GIVEAWAY: Starring Robert Mitchum

Come on Robert Mitchum didn't have time to perform in many movies in 1959 alone, the answer is at anyone's fingertips. No need for more hints now of course.

ayoeness 08-01-2009 06:10 PM

edit: wrong mitchum.. Angry Hills?

Japo 08-01-2009 06:54 PM

It's not Angry Hills, :whistling: its _the other_. LOL

hahajejeje 08-01-2009 07:06 PM

I thought Bananza a while ago, but I think that was a TV series, and not a movie. Maybe I'm wrong.

hahajejeje 08-01-2009 07:18 PM

oh you are right,it called bonanza, that cowboy serie.:notrust:

ayoeness 08-01-2009 07:23 PM

There's something to be said for letting a project get out of hand when the result is as sympathetic as this. Bursting with characters, sub-plots, themes, symbols, the movie centres on Mitchum, a gringo pistolero operating South of the Border. Crossing the river (a recurring image) on a gun running mission, he painfully rediscovers the blessings and burdens of home and belonging. A German immigrant, an unhappy army wife and a troop of black cavalry reflect different aspects of his situation. Photographically and musically it's a continuous treat, though having the hero ride a horse called Lágrimas - Tears - was carrying portentousness too far. From a novel by the artist Tom Lea, who has a cameo as a barber.

hahajejeje 08-01-2009 08:29 PM

Vanilla Sky!!

red_avatar 08-01-2009 08:32 PM

Well I know the movie since I Googled but I'll wait to answer ;).

Instead I'll offer an easy quote of my own.

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe".

hahajejeje 08-01-2009 08:34 PM

Dear red avatar:
You can`t put quote by your own (see rules) the only one that can is the current winner,sorry..

TheChosen 08-01-2009 08:35 PM

C'mon people. Stop using Google.

And Haha: You dont have to keep record. This is just a friendly game where it doesnt matter who gets the score. Besides, its a little chaotic right now so its hard to keep track on it.

ayoeness 08-01-2009 08:37 PM

nope not vanilla sky.
:amused:

red_avatar. - Oh it was that easy.. :weird: guess I should've googled it myself too. :amused:

edit: But I have no basic knowledge whatsoever, due to miserable short, and long term memory.. what can I do without it.

Oh and I know that quote. Even with my miserable memory... :)

Please Nacho, go on. If its so simple, why cant I see it?

If you look at past games, you see that none of us have kept any scores.

red_avatar 08-01-2009 08:53 PM

It's Silent Hills ;).

ayoeness 08-01-2009 09:02 PM

Yes indeed it was.

And I'm not gonna tell what yours was, simply because I can't think of another quote, if its my turn again. :whistling:

laiocfar 09-01-2009 02:34 AM

There is a current quote?

hahajejeje 09-01-2009 03:43 PM

Japo 09-01-2009 04:08 PM

Which is of course from Blade Runner...

The Bard 09-01-2009 07:40 PM

That mean I can post a new one?
Quote:

"If I were you, I'd run."
"If you were me, you'd be good-lookin'."

Mighty Midget 09-01-2009 07:47 PM

I kick ass for the Lord!

The Bard 09-01-2009 08:43 PM

And yours would be Braindead by Peter Jackson, you told me about that one.

Quote:

EDIT: Oh, and btw, could anyone please change this thread's title?

Spoonman 12-01-2009 05:54 PM

Ah That would be Wanted (I've seen it three days ago)

next:
Quote:

I could be just sitting at home with pee stains on my rug.

The Bard 12-01-2009 06:04 PM

That would be The Big Lebowski, pretty easy one.

Quote:

Never fear, I is here.

Spoonman 12-01-2009 06:10 PM

ow that one's from long ago.. Hackers I presume

allright, this one then:
Quote:

In the East, the Far East, when a person is sentenced to death, they're sent to a place where they can't escape, never knowing when an executioner may step up behind them, and fire a bullet into the back of their head.

The Bard 12-01-2009 06:12 PM

You lost me there, no idea where that is from.

Spoonman 12-01-2009 09:01 PM

it's from a dark, mysterious and obscure movie by a most talented director

hahajejeje 12-01-2009 09:42 PM

is Perpetue penal right

Spoonman 13-01-2009 04:57 AM

Nope sorry, that's not it
I'll give some more hints later this day if no one knows

Spoonman 19-01-2009 06:32 PM

Oops, forgot to give those hints

If I say 1997 and David Lynch, what do you say?

The Bard 20-01-2009 05:20 PM

Ok, it's Lost Highway (cuz noone else was gonna answer).

Here's mine:
Quote:

Alright, listen to me. You pull up right where she lives, right? Before you get outta the car, you lock both doors. Then, get outta the car, you walk over to her. You bring her over to the car. Dig out the key, put it in the lock and open the door for her. Then you let her get in.
Then you close the door. Then you walk around the back of the car and look through the rear window.
If she doesn't reach over and lift up that button so that you can get in: dump her.
May be a lil' long to read, but it's the greatest piece of advice ever.

Japo 20-01-2009 06:22 PM

I've watched that for sure but right now I can't remember >_<
