World of Aden - Entomorph - Plague of the Darkfall

I'd like to request for a game named Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall.

HOTU has it, but it is a CD-Rip version, which unfortunately I think makes the game rather unplayable at certain points. I actually managed to avoid crashes in several parts of the game, until I reached the Distillery. After I fixed the broken teleporter, when I tried to take it the game just crashed into a blank screen. I tried to reload previous saved games and still the game crashed there. I also have tried playing the game in 3 different computers (Win2K, WinXP, and Win98). In each computer the game crashed at the same spot.

So, if possible I'd like to request the game to be uploaded in Abandonia. Or, if someone knows a link or site where I can download the (full) game, it's also appreciated. I am sure the game is abandonware, at least HOTU thinks so by providing the download link, so I believe I am not asking for warez. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks in advance.

Only thing you can count on in here is a working CD-Rip. CD images are too big for the public section, and even we in the VIP rarely see one.

rabadi 30-03-2005 01:27 AM

Ripped version would be fine, as long as it is working :D

Alternatively, anyone who has played this game before, happens to have a save file at the point I described (at distillery, right after killing the nobles and fixing the teleporter, but before taking it), and is willing to give the save file to me will be much appreciated :kosta:

GraveDigger 30-03-2005 04:07 AM

There are few files that need some tweaking to avoid the crash. However, I prefer playing Full-Version games over ripped games.

Entomorph: Plague Of The Darkfall

Hi,

what do you think about putting Entomorph on this site ?

Released: 10 Sep 1995 (complete release info)
Published By: Mindscape Inc.
Developed By: Cyberlore Studios, Inc., Strategic Simulations, Inc.
Platform: Windows -- combined view
Also for: Windows 3.x

the only thing that scares me a bit is the platform. I am sure I played it in DOS these days ... Don't you think that Win 3.x is almost DOS . (at least when it's about getting a new game here  )

At least it's not ESA protected ... Well and if you don't think that Entomorph is alright for abandonia - they got it at HOTU. :D

Tom Henrik 06-08-2005 04:03 PM

What do you mean... not ESA?

BOTH Mindscape and Stratetic Simulations, Inc. are ESA companies.

Well, to be fair, they're not on the list of ESA companies posted in this forum, so it might be a good idea to update it.

Kon-Tiki 06-08-2005 04:36 PM

Another reason not to add it, is because that game's a Windows-game, and Abandonia's dedicated to old DOS-games. We've long since stopped adding Windows-games for this reason.

swiss 06-08-2005 04:40 PM

sorry I didn't know that they were ESA ... (thanks for helping AJRaffles)

OK and this windows thing ... *sigh* ... was a good game anyway ...

Thanks, :Tom:, you mean.

swiss 06-08-2005 06:04 PM

Thanks to Tom for telling me some real important facts.

Thanks to you for the "Well, to be fair, they're not ... " statement. That made my post look a little bit better than complete newbie spam ...

GraveDigger 07-08-2005 03:54 AM

by the way, the complete title is Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall, and it's really an interesting 3rd-person role-playing adventure, which I recently replayed on Windows XP without any trouble.

Editing:

I just checked and HotU is really spreading it, but an inferior quality, 30mb rip. If abandonia.com really wants to serve this game then I have a good quality 56mb rip in my collection as well as the iSO.

Wow That means old DnD games are ESA ooops *looks at folder that he has completly dedicated to old DnD games*

I'm a fan of D&D and AD&D too, and I reckon  that I have each and every one of them all, but I would appreciate if you send me the list of all your D&D collections. ahem ahem! the list of the contents of that folder... :D :D

Tom Henrik 08-08-2005 08:31 AM

I am not sure what's going on here, but you had better not be asking for warez, man

I think he really just wanted to check whether he has ALL those games or whether he's still missing a few. He's a collector, after all.

GraveDigger 08-08-2005 11:01 AM

Don't you worry Tom, AJ is right, I just need the list of names. And, this is quite strange that whenever I peruse a list I find out something I don't have..

Entomorph: Plague Of The Darkfall

It was a very cool RPG I used to play when I was a kid with a very Diablo 2/Ultima 8 feel to it in terms of the interface. I seem to remember that at the beginning you were in this village that was being attacked by these giant green dragonfly-esque bastard insects. I also remember that a bit later on you got on a boat and went across to another island where they were sacrificing a giant scarab beetle, if my memory serves me correctly. I'm sure I remember the scarab beetles being a strong presence, somewhat like the torax in Ultima 8 I think. I think the character had a sort of ancient greek hero look to him. I'm sorry the details are a bit sketchy but that's what's driving me absolutely nuts about this - I can't remember the name of it but I can't really remember enough of the details to describe it properly. However, if anyone has even the slightest clue, just throw it out there on the off chance it's the right one. The person who solves this problem for me may find themselves the proud owners of one faithful servant.

Eagle of Fire 12-06-2006 04:25 PM

The island part sounds like Might and Magic 6 or 7.

chainsoar 12-06-2006 06:43 PM

Nah, I'm pretty sure that's not it. I remember it was an oldish game I played a couple of times when I was a kid about 7/8 years ago. It was one of my older brother's games. You know one of those games you play when you're a kid and are totally crap at, but play them when you're older and they totally own your soul. If I don't remember what this game is called I'm going to die unhappy. It's actually been bugging me on and off for about two years trying to find out.

Found it, it's called "Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall"

chainsoar 13-06-2006 12:25 AM

At first I looked at that link and I wasn't sure. Been a long time since I played it and my childhood memory recalled slightly different graphics, but the more I looked, it all came back to me. You absolute BEAUTY!

thatmexicanguy 13-06-2006 03:36 AM

LOL, no problemo. I'm not sure if it's protected or not, but a simple Google search will usually turn up some places. Good luck and happy hunting!

rabadi 13-06-2006 04:21 AM

Many months ago I already requested for that game to be uploaded to Abandonia, since the one I found in HOTU is severely ripped that it was unplayable in several areas (hence it was impossible to finish the game). Too bad the game is for Windows, so it cannot be hosted in Abandonia. It may also be ESA-protected (not sure about this one, though).

The Fifth Horseman 13-06-2006 05:39 PM

We have a couple Windows games around, if my memory serves right.

thatmexicanguy 13-06-2006 10:07 PM

We should get someone to put it up, then. How big is the game unripped and ripped?

rabadi 14-06-2006 01:56 AM

Well, my original thread is this:
http://www.abandonia.com/forum/index.php?s...67&hl=entomorph

And the one that mentioned it is a Windows game is this:

Wow this is awesome
I was searching for this one for years(always thought it had "Eden" in its name somewhere).
Thanks a million!

Tom Henrik 20-06-2006 08:05 AM

Well, after just having a brief(!) look around, the game seems to be abandoned :)

I'll look more carefully around, though.

rabadi 21-06-2006 01:37 AM

Please don't forget to let us know the final verdict on this game's status :ok:

Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall

I was just looking back through the list of my old posts and I found one where Tom mentioned that Entomorph:Plague Of The Darkfall is abandoned. I wondered if there had been any progress in finding a copy suitable for AB? Let me know. Thanks.

Tom Henrik 22-11-2006 10:55 AM

I said that a while back?

Wow... it was probably when I was still a n00b to all this, and didn't know the ESA subsidiaries by heart :D

Anyways, this game was made by Mindscape in 1995.... meaning that as I could not find a store selling the game - it was abandoned this year :P

So yeah, it's current status is abandoned.

As for locating the game, I don't really know. I've been too busy with other tasks and real life.

Edit:
My bad.
It's sold. I apologize :tomato:

I discovered that shop when I was looking for a download location.

Peteranecz 01-09-2008 05:24 PM

Entomorph [SOLD]

I was wondering if Thunderscape was or is available for download anywhere...if not does anyone have any clue why or when?

rabadi 11-09-2008 12:42 AM

I actually wanted to request for Thunderscape's "sequel", Entomorph, but... *sigh* it is also still sold :(
