Prob a good way to ostracise everyone :)
Ur all probably gonna think im insane after this post, and who knows i probably am. But....
There are two things i experience, ive met others that do also, that i cannot explain. They are: 1)At times when i'm trying to get to sleep i have a tinitus (ringing in the ears) attack... the ringing gets louder and louder until i can't hear anything else, to the point where when i was young i couldnt hear myself screaming out to my parents for help... this would always predicate a "Night Terror". A nightmare so terrifying that i would wake, drenched in sweat and fearful of ever sleeping again. 2)"The Dots" What do you see when you close your eyes? I see an infinite number of multicoloured pinpricks of light, that shift and change, form patterns, images... if i focus i can see them with my eyes open as well, but they are most prevelant when my eyes are closed. I guess im inviting ridicule by putting this out there, but the great thing about the net is the abundance of adherants, therefore increasing the chance of finding others that may experience something similar. Thanks |
1) Did you see an otologist (ear doctor) about a possible approach of signs of deafness?
2) Did you consult an ophthalmologist (eye doctor) about possibly having a grey or green star (eye illness)? :D That's the kind of answers you're asking for here I guess, not exactly the right forum for such. Seriously though, you've got some paranormal symptoms around you there. Any chance you could describe the contents of the nightmare(s)? |

I cant describe the terrors, because i have a warning i try to twist it to lucid dreaming.. if i feel im losing control i just get up and walk away from it. i havent allowed a terror to take me in at least 5 years |
Have you considered that the problem might be neurological in nature?
|
Also: was / is there any occurence of you doing / being able to do something which could be described as out-of-body travels in some kind of spiritual plane? I had a friend once who can do those and suffers from dark nightmares since she opened a personal door in the spiritual plane she shouldn't have, almost every night for many years now. Those consisting of her being pursued by a black figure without visible characteristics to put an appearance to him.

The loud noise though...for me its only ever a very quite ringing that goes away after a few seconds, never getting so loud I can't here it....you should ask your doctor/shrink about that :p |

i havent done the shrink angle but i have asked many doctors, most treat me like im insane. I find with the dots if i focus centrally, the dots converge to create an image or shape. I meditate on something that is on my mind, focus, then try and interpret whatever image the dots show me. |
people get the ear ringing, but usually not to the point when they can't hear anything
also, everyone sees dots when they close their eyes. and when you push it you get interesting patterns :woot: |

i know, tinitus is nothing new, but the intensity and what it heralds is what im concerned about. and you might be surprised about the dot thing, ive had this all my life and talked to a lot of people about it and definately not everyone see them. i have only found two people that experience them the way i do. some see patterns, but only two others get images. eg landscapes, buildings, people...... |
Did you have any head trauma, concussion or something like that in early age? My guess is you are either insane or suffering from minor brain damage.
|
This is starting to sound more and more like Yahoo answers :bleh2:
And yeah, the dot thing is a common one. I get it even with the eyes open in the dark, and sometimes like pulsating circles expanding or converging... I once heard it had something to do with the blood going through the eyes and such. But I don't know, really |
Well whatever it is you got there, you got it for a good reason and if I was you I wouldn't listen to those who tell you're insane. Insanity is after all a thing which definition is a matter of opinion and varies depending on point of view. Don't give up and continue to search for what it is exactly you have and why, I'm sure it is something unusual you have and it while it might be just explained by some banal reasons, it seems unlikely to me.

i think you need to have a bath
|
Maybe you should just stop doing drugs mate :3
|
well whatever you have, must be cool. cause epilepsy is definitely not cool.

I can give you my number one bestseller (free of charge AND signed) called,
"how to lose friends and ostracise people!" Simple enclose the relevant postage to your country via the UK and it'll be on its happy way first thing next tuesday! :D [ed] There are WAY too many experts on the INTERNET (a condition that is now a recognized psychological disease) so id' refrain from touching on that subject where there;s so many delusional people... I have a 94% best answer rating at Yahoo!Answers, so I know what I'm talking about, OK!?! |

Wow mate, sometimes when I go to sleep and I lay in my bed I see huge brown rabbits with horse heads jumping around me and then I start urinating wildly out of my nostrils. Has that ever happened to anyone? I don't know if it's normal or I should see a doctor. Perhaps it's just because I've been consuming insane amounts of LSD rectally?

Starting to think that maybe since myself and many patrons here see the dots, and my other friends dont it could be some sort of plasma burn from having spent way to many years in front of computer screens :omg: lol
Just out of interests sake for those who may experience the ringing in the ears predicating a dream like state, use it! i had the experience yesterday and although i wouldnt call it "lucid dreaming" as some describe. I was able to control the dream somewhat, sending me off on a wonderful journey through a cyberpunk universe, where a companion and i were being d/led with any skill set we needed... martial arts, helicopter flying.... mayhem insued Dreaming can be fun! lol |
Seriously man, are you taking large amounts of any kind of hallucinogenic drugs? Cos these symptoms are exactly what one would expect from the usage of psychedelic narcotics such as LSD, peyote, cannabis, shrooms, etc...
Also, do you have any history of PTSD, obsessive compulsive disorder, or alcoholism? I think your problem might lie in one of these areas, and is not a physical disorder at all. |

I wish my dreams were like that. All my dreams result in me inevitably being killed. Heck, a few nights ago I had one about some monster and a dark building and for whatever reason a kid im barely even friends with was their, said 'OH SHIT WE HAVE TO RUN' and other useless 'no shit, sherlock' styled phrases. I would wake up, fall back asleep an dcontinue the dream, til my friend just wasn't in it anymore, and I was corninered in a room LOL Then it was 7 in the morning and I couldn't fall back asleep, THANK GOD. Has anyone ever had a recurring dream before? The only recurring dream I've ever had was this; Im in a dry desert, the ground underneath is cracked from lack of water. This is some sorta village. There's a hut in front of me, and it is burning ,and I here screams from inside, but all I do is stand outside the hut, then look to my left up a wide flight of stairs, and some sorta zombie thing comes down, then I wake up. Weird. |

But thats just Jung ;) |
My recurring dream for years was that i was trapped in that "labyrinth" game with the ball bearing and the wooden maze, i was constantly being "chased" by the ball bearing, (indiana jones and boulder style) and just as it was about to crush me i would fall into one of the "holes"
then the game would start again, it would go on for what seemed like forever  |
