Dave 05-07-2010 05:32 PM

We decided this together, GTX has mod powers here and can follow Eugene's progress. We can remove the topic once done.

Fubb 05-07-2010 05:56 PM

I don't think Eugene even knows this exists.

With multiquote is meant that you are replying with quote to more then one post. (made by others)
Like you did with post numbers #9 & #13

One more thing. I'm leaving this topic open and here till Wednesday. (or longer if you need to)
In the mean while. Eugene. Feel free to test your capability's in using the various methods to reply, quote & post.

Also. I'm allowing you to double post IN THIS TOPIC. (so not anywhere else)
I can allow you this due to the fact that this topic will be stored somewhere out of sight after we are all done with it. :)

Good luck getting skilled. :OK:

bobson 05-07-2010 08:50 PM

heh, I never knew how to use multi-quote myself, I always wrote another
[ quote ] by hand, and ctrl+v the content inside :P

Keep the good work Eugene :)

The general conclusion: all genius is simple.

GTX2GvO 06-07-2010 06:33 AM

There's one more beauty when using the "MultiQuote" button. :)
You can do cross thread quoting. :D

How?

An example. I'm quoting This post from this thread.

I use this button on the post. http://files.abandonia.com/extras/Fo...iquote_off.png (a.k.a. "MultiQuote" )

And when pressing AddReply http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/5...tachmenthj.png in this thread I get a line under the message field saying:
"You have selected 1 post that is not part of this thread. Quote this post as well, or deselect this post."

By Choosing "quote this post as well". I'll add the selected post into this reply. ^_^

The quote is placed where your cursor is. (That blinking this where you type)
So there's no need to worry much about text you already have written. ^_^

Realistically speaking, no this button. Instead, the exclamation mark button and report.

This is in my insight a GREAT way to tag multiple posts, from multiple threads and combine them into a single reply. :D

One thing though. Once done/used you need to deselect the post your quoting. Else it will stay "In the system". :)

I think this might be useful for EVERYONE who wants to quote messages and not just eugene. :smile2:

You did it correctly but your message can't stay inside Metal Gear topic ;)

If I get this correctly eugene quoted my post from this thread and replied into the Metal Gear thread....

Which means the technique was correct, yet the implementation went a bit in a not wanted direction. :perv:
A better test would have been to use the specified "multiquote" button on a post in the MGS thread and the AddReply button in this thread. ^_^

The actual quote isn't important. The ability to edit a last post by oneself is. :)
*@eugene: do not reply yet, but report in CB that you have seen this. ;)

This is still in concern of editing your own posts in an attempt to prevent double posting.
(although post positions would allow otherwise ^_^ )

The test is:

1) Use the "Reply with quote" button (http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/1654/attachmentw.png) on this post.
2) Instead of posting, you select all text in "Message:" field.
( from [quote to /quote] )
3) And copy it with Ctrl+C
4) Go back to the thread. (So no posting yet)
5) Edit you last post. (the one ABOVE this one, where you've seen and understood the difference :) )
6) Paste the quote at the end of your post with Ctrl+V
7) Finish editing the the post above THIS post. :)

All is easy.
