for me it was resident evil (meant to be a horror/thriller :[img]http://www.abandonia.com/forum/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />)
half-baked but funny |
Well if you mean the funniest screw up, then I'd have to say: Pearl Harbour - I loughed so hard during that movie (just watching the expressions on other people's faces).
Otherwise the best comedies: I go for the really old school! http://www.abandonia.com/~sebatianos/groucho.gif The Marx Brothers - most of all - The Night at the Opery non-Marxist movies ( :D ): The Man who came to Dinner, Some like it Hot, George Washington slept here,... Newer stuff (not really new, just in colour already): Buddy Buddy, High Anxsiety (Mel Brooks rocks!), Also Young Frankenstein (although made in BW), And I laughed really hard at Mr. Been - The Movie, but the ones that really stand out are the Pythons - LIFE OF BRIAN!!! (and the other two of their movies). |
Ferris Buelers Day Off. Great classic of teenage movies. I recently got this one on DVD (had it already on VHS). Still entertains.
Not completely on topic but I would love to see the rip off series that was made from this movie, Parker Lewis can't lose again. Also great. |
The funniest movie I have ever seen, is a danish movie called: "I Kina spiser de hunde", which means "In China they eat dogs". :D
Funny stuff. |
Dumb & Dumber
I've seen it at least a dozen times by now, and I still never get tired of it. Truly brilliant comedy. "Look at the funbags on that hosehound." |

Meet the parents

mr. bean the movie
|
Wow. there are too many. all of them I'd say off hand. :D Ace ventura is a definite one. Monty python, too. the naked gun series.
|
Robin Hood - Men in Tights was lot of fun :D
|
I'd have to agree with Bohor. "Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail" is indeed the funniest movie ever made imho. I've watched it over thirty times and it still amazes me. I recently got it on DVD since my VHS had some quality-problems after being watched that many times :D
Although "Bad Taste" (the first movie Peter Jackson ever made) is also quite funny... |
Well, I "have to" watch movies with Seb usually - so I do agree about The Marx Brothers, Robin Hood men in tights and off course the Monty Pythons.
I also liked Cool Runingsand Rat Race (remember the cow hanging from the ballon getting hit by the bus full of Lucy - fans)?? But as it was already mentioned - there are too many movies - some were so stupid, I just had to laugh :ok: |
Hmmm... Pulp Fiction is certainly up there. The Philadelphia Story is great, and All About Eve has some awesome dialogue, as bitter and cynical as it is. Lock, Stock, and Tow Smoking Barrels deserves a mention too.
|
I liked There's A Girl In My Soup with Peter Sellers and Goldie Hawn. For me, the trouble with comedies is that they can get too silly. I don't understand 'silly'
humour. Totally unmoved by them. An example of that is the Police Academy series. I prefer humour if it's clever, and it can be satisfying to see strong, confident characters placed in embarrassing situations, especially Julia Roberts. |
The pink panther series.
|
Oh, yes, I forgot them. They're great - even the theme is funny and sensational. We must both we fans of Peter. :)
|
Yes we are. I like Airplane too.
|
I can make a list of funny movies but i really can't chose a funniest.
Mel Brooks's movies - Spaceballs, Young Frankenstien, Robin Hood Men in Tights ... Monty Python - Holy grail was my favorite of theirs Dumb and Dumber was brilliant Pink Panthers where great haven't seen them in years Zoolander was great Clerks and the rest of their movies |

I just remembered the first time I saw Austin Powers (the international man of mistery), it was at midnight, we were all a bit :drunk: and the movie started. I was laugingh so hard I started crying (most off all the scene with the cart getting stuck in the hall). |

now werenīt you... Zoolander? Great, lets reduce the intelligence of all actors to zero, And yey, We got a really great movie... Not nearly /- Favourites? Mel Brooks Dracula - Dead & Loving it ... And well, thatīs the essential one, that comes to mind now /- { Edit } Meanings requested; Imho - W00T - |

now werenīt you...
I was at the time of watching the movie... Never actually watched it again (although I have it on tape). Guess I never dared - I just knew it would spoil the fun memories I have of it... Some other great movies: - What about Bob - Dirty Rotten Scaundrells - The Tree Amigos - Ghostbusters (off course - how could I have missed that) - and a movie I wouldn't even place in the comedy section, but it's funny also (but mostly brilliant: Dr. Strangelove or How I stopped fearing and learned to love the bomb (actually also a film with Peter Sellers). |
