Hey look Kosta! He lives in the same place as you! |
Yup.
They do not know each other, though... (As strange as it might seem... ) But, hey. Kosta actually have someone now that he can talk to in real life that uses this site! The lucky bastard! :) |
KQ1 was the first adventure i ever played :) ... child memories :)
|
Yes... Memories...
I just LOVE these games, playing them reminds me of so much from my childhood :D |
The funny thing is... That those days i didn't like KQ :P I found it too hard ( i was 10 years old after all ) and i got bored very easily with it :P In fact i got so disappointed with it, that the next adventure i played was 2 years after that, Space quest 1 :)

[/quote]Just tell the game, what you want to do. For example "THROW DAGGER" (if you have one). But remember, that violence is not the best solution to the puzzles in the game. At least you will get more points by archieving the aims in a more smartly way
Yeah well i all ready figured how do i throw stuff like rocks into enemys but how do i atack with a sword by not droppin it? Thanks any way... |
Oh nevermind iv got it :D this game is so good when you get a hang of it :ok: and this website is exelent! :w00t:

I have a question - I LOVED games like this when I was a kid - grew up in the 80's, so of course I played all of the KQ games back then. I still love playing these games now. My question is, do other people like playing these types of games now-a-days? I mean, everything you see on G4TechTv is 3d this and that, great 3d modeling, shadowing, FPS, etc...is there still a market out there for these types of 2d based adventure games? (Just like KQ, SQ, 5 Days a Stranger?)
It seems to me that with the invent of AGS, anyone who is a decent story teller can make a great game - just like the Sierra On-Line group did in the 80's, and make it commercial or shareware. or whatever. Anyone wish to share their thoughts? ZXBY |
Yeah, well I like theys kind of games cos the now-days games usually doesnt have the same spirint. Today its all about graphics and not many people cares about the main point of the game.

I'm not sure if this was a hack someone made when they uploaded the game, but I looked through the pics on the site here and saw, "cartwheel over bridge". Unfortunately, when I type this in, the game says it has no clue what a cartwheel is.
By the way, I to dabble in Quest games. More than I should. I am actually in the process of preparing to remake the entire SQ series. :) Rather cool, but taking forever to get a decent team together. I've also messed with AGIStudio and SCIStudio. I prefer the AGI language because it is so much more simplistic. SCI is very different from either AGI or AGS so I just got very lost in it and never achieved anything. But I'm in the process of achieving something with AGS and the Space Quest Series. Wolverine |
WHEn i play all the words are fuzy
|
Uh... I got excited and downloaded a bunch of these games, but they won't run, can some one tell me how to fix the error:
C:\Documents......Larry\Liesure Suit Larry 1.1987\LL.COM The parameter is incorrect. Any help is MUCH apreciated! |
I know what's got you down with that parameter. If you try to run it from a different spot than you downloaded it to, then that will occur. So if you try to make an organization to the madness of games and move your zips, it will mess up your parameter.

im out of ideas on how to get the gnomes name.
is it possible to find out in the game, if so can i have a clue on how to get it? |
@ Evan
Have you tried playing in DosBox? That should help. @ Kreepah SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT If I remember rightly, the gnome's name is Rumplestiltskin written backwards. NIKSTLITSELPMUR :ok: |
it says im on the right track of thinking. i said rumplestiltskin an it says that very close, but none worked. is there a place in the game where you find the answer, an can i have a hint as to were that is?
|
Type Rumplestiltskin backwards
also try Ifnkovhgroghprm which worked in the old days :) the only clue to his name is that in the witches house a note says "sometimes it good to think backwards" Good luck to ya |
I can't find the download button :s

you should get the vga version. the spirit is gone in it.
having to figure out what you can to without having a mous-hand being able to grab things is way cooler .... great game ! |
The VGA version's still better than nothing, though, isn't it?
|
aye. that's RIGHT ... :ok:

This is a cool site. I would really like to see a section with some old games like KQ1 and Enchanter for dowload. I have Win98 running on an old computer with only a 1.44 floppy drive. I would love to get KQ1 running on it. Will DOS-box run on Win98? Is it the type of program that might crash my whole system? Where can I find a copy of KQ1 that will run on my Win98 machine? Help would be much appreciated! :wall:

But there is a remake for parts 1 & 2 which you can find on this site. :ok: |
The grand daddy of all adventure games and a true classic. I may be in the minority but I like these old agi "type in the command and use the keyboard to move" adventure games. Don't get me wrong I do like the newer high graphic "point and click" adventure games. But the old orignial's have a certain feeling to them and they are quite fun even today.
Hint for beanstalk: Anyone who is playing this game now and having trouble climbing the beanstalk (very difficult part). One thing I found useful is to keep Grahams feet on the beanstalk. I found specially near the top where it kind of spirals that if you keep the beanstalk under Grahams feet he won't fall. |

NO. WAREZ. HERE. Edited by the_fifth_horseman |
Did you ever consider there's a reason for that? Like, that it's illegal to get it for free and you should BUY it or learn live WITHOUT it!
|
I dont mind paying to get the orginal EGA version... but i still cant find it!
|
You can get KQ 1-6 in thesw collector's edition discs - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kings-Quest-1-6-Coll...1QQcmdZViewItem
:ok: |
I seem to see the main character portrayed with yellow skin in King's Quests I and II. Why is this so?
|
How do I bypass the "No 90," thing--so I can download? O_o
|
|
Mediocre game that probably seemed awesome back then. But it was definitely the start of a great series and system of games. I still enjoy this game even though it's not as good as the others. Hard to fault it since they were doing something completely new and revolutionary with this game.
|
it has it's magic (:

(Spits on X-Box 360, and then gets back to playing KQ I.) |
Yeah, but it's still my least favorite AGI game.
|
The remake by AGD Interactive is spectacular! I stumbled upon them while looking for a remake of this fine game, and found that they are in the process of remaking the whole series. They only have the first two of the series completed, but they also have Quest for Glory II remade. They are great remakes with voice overs!
