magic pockets !!!!!!! awesome ,
any one now how i can play it with a joystick ?
i have a microsoft sidewinder but can only play this game with keys so far

FreeFreddy 27-02-2005 07:09 PM

I don't think you can play it with the joystick. At least I didn't find any key in the game that activates the joystick / joypad...

Wizborg 02-03-2005 06:53 PM

If you type "INSTALL" at the prompt in the directory of the game, it gives u a choice to set the keys up or play with joystick....

hello,
indeed a wonderful game, ive been looking for it for so long and finally did
i just have a question
as i last played this game many years ago, when you finished each level, does the next one begin with 0 points or is there any way to start the new level by pressing any particular keyboard
anyone any idea?
joanna

This is a great game. Only thing is I wish there was a save game function or at least a code so you don't have to play always from the start... *sigh* What the Bitties did with codes for Gods and Chaos Engine was so much nicer.

I don't know How to Quit the Game? help me please...

Guest 14-09-2005 03:48 PM

i cant get the game to work...install what do i do??

Storm 07-05-2006 10:56 PM

I can't get past the first level...it keeps asking me for a code, e.g. INSERT CODE: J5.

What do I have to do to get rid or get past these codes?

*EDIT* I'd just like to add that when 3 incorrect attempts are tried, I am booted from the game.

Guest 23-12-2006 07:26 AM

Did someone can tell me how to pass last level? I suppose that I must kill that... Big baloon, bubble, whatever (though he's much faster than the others); but there's maybe something else, some toy or candy that I must use? Tell me, please! Thanks!

Try running POCKET instead of POCKETS

I do quit with the windows key and then with the mouse.

Does the sound work with you?? ...can't make it work with any setting.
Found a slightly different version at takegame.com, that has a file called HCMUSIC.BIN ...but even that version NO SOUND ;-( mmmhhh !!

Someone an idea??

Scatty 04-10-2007 12:34 AM

Try to play the game in DosBox

jetset 04-10-2007 04:20 PM

Thanks!! That's what I would have tried next...

I was just wondering, cause it claims to be compatible with XP. And finally when I started any *.exe from that package it ran quite well, besides the sound!

So I will try dosbox, though I hoped to keep it simple, cause I don't like reading into things and configure an Emu all night... I would love to have it like on old Amigas or Playstation... just run and play.

Well it is compatible with XP, after all you can run it in XP after all? But no Dos game would have any sound in Windows XP, that's where DosBox helps out.
DosBox is quite simple too, but if it turns out too difficult to you because of the Ms-Dos similar interface, you can use Frontend which you can download from the same link above (though it is said to cause compatibility problems with some games so watch out)

The Fifth Horseman 05-10-2007 08:27 AM

If it works in XP but witout sound, use VDMSound to run it. Simpler to use and consumes less resources.

Veto 25-06-2008 07:55 AM

vdm and protection sheet

Vdm does the job but with les cycles so hearable the sound is interrupted but doesbox ist just fine and with sound...
my problem is when i ended the first level a copyprotection rises and wanted a code like "m7" an leaves blank markers, rollable to ingamegoodies.
So there must be a data sheet or something like that ?
PLZ i am eager to play this game since my Amiga500 broke  help

Scatty 25-06-2008 08:03 AM

I think you just need to press ENTER and type in nothing, that should pass.

How to quit the game.

Press F1 (this pauses game) and then ctrl-C.

So does anyone have the codesheet that tells us what "m7" (or anyother code for that matter) is? I remember when I had the game on Windows 95, it came with that code sheet, but somehow got lost along the way.

If anyone has it, can you please email me a copy at [EDITED] ? Thanks a million!

Unsure how to get it working

Hey everyone, I've just downloaded the Magic Pocket game from the website,

http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/43...c+Pockets.html

http://puu.sh/1prO5

^ Is an image of the files that I see on my screen.

I've taken that screenshot with a windows 7 computer, but the game is to be loaded onto a Windows XP system (I understand it works on XP)

I'm not too sure how to install/get the game going?

If anyone could help me that would be great :D

Cheers!

dosraider 16-11-2012 12:30 PM

Run the game in dosbox.
See several tutorials how to do so@ Tutorials

Are you playing the game in Windows or DosBox? If it's Windows, you should play the game in DosBox, see the post above yours.
