troop18546 02-03-2005 05:21 PM

Cool Talon, but is a picture really name'd "Ancient evil"? Cause it doesnt actually remind me of the game it's supposed to be...

TaloN 02-03-2005 05:43 PM

yeh photoshop7.

im experimenting with 3d modeling in cinema 4d at the moment.

yeh its ment to be a mix of anceint things ( the grungy backgorund) and the evil of the clones. probly not the best title but just popped into my head so *shrugs*

FreeFreddy 03-03-2005 04:01 AM

Nice digital art. ;)
Guess what picture caught my eye. It was "Mental breakdown". The moment from "The Shining" is caught very good in this one. :D

If you want idea to new one, what about one that is based on Diablo2 or Sacrifice? :sneaky:

troop18546 09-03-2005 06:15 PM

I would want something as a wallpaper at 1280x1024 for the game "ABUSE".

taikara 10-03-2005 03:50 PM

I am so desperately curious what programs you use, and what techniques. Got any references you're willing to give? :bye:

Every time I look at it, it just looks more amazing. :ok:

TaloN 10-03-2005 07:07 PM

www.good-tutorials.com really. and www.pixel2life.com is where i got a few of my skills, the rest is just playing around with photoshop7

taikara 10-03-2005 07:29 PM

Where do you get your plugins and brushes? I don't have any =P

Maikel 10-03-2005 08:17 PM

Strobe 10-03-2005 10:39 PM

@talon:

some very useful resources of drawing techniques/support have been mentioned
in this thread in the last post...

maybe you wanna add these links to the "graphic software, tutorials and resources"
thread?

dragonLancer 10-03-2005 11:23 PM

TaloN 11-03-2005 04:21 PM

Nice...

Inspired me to do my own.. ill go and post them up in my gallery.

TaloN 30-03-2005 04:23 PM

2 new pieces:

a sig for a website :

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...rogue2copy.jpg

and a bit of vector art ( used the cutout too just to provide a basis,) that i brush vectored myself.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ectorwoman.jpg

taikara 30-03-2005 04:58 PM

*reaaally* like the sig.... *reeeeaallly* want a TaloN sig.... don't know what I would want though... Love Hina? Naru Narusagawa?

The Yuna vector art... very good job, though some of the lines seem somewhat... choppy? not quite in place? (think it's supposed to be that way, though, so *shrug*) Altogether, very extra-tasty-crispy, though :ok:

Tom Henrik 30-03-2005 06:09 PM

It would actually make a really good horror game, if one used the style you placed on Yuna.

The lightning is distorted making you wonder what it is, and at the same time everything is visible.

Awesome!

TaloN 31-03-2005 01:21 PM

i do alot of simple 3-4 tone art like taht one, its vector to an extent but i use brushes (oil paints in RL) so the edges stay distorted.

Tai ill PM you and well sort osmething out.

TaloN 31-03-2005 02:34 PM

sig for Tai:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...vehinacopy.jpg

sorry i personally am not happy with it, ill do some more later but im just gonna go collapse and sleep (went to bed at 6am this morning + bad hangover)

taikara 31-03-2005 03:00 PM

:kosta: Thank you, TaloN, it's very much what I was going for, despite your perfectionist doubts! :kosta:

:tnx: :D

Sean 01-04-2005 02:25 PM

I agree its a really nice sig :D

Tom Henrik 01-04-2005 02:45 PM

I like it as well :)

Strobe 01-04-2005 03:34 PM

yes, i join the line...the sig's nice! but the font is rather hard to read, imo.
other than this, nice job talon! :)

TaloN 03-04-2005 04:54 PM

kontiki's request

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ontikicopy.jpg

if anything needs changing shout at me please

Sean 03-04-2005 05:17 PM

Good job... not fond of the text though...

Kon-Tiki 03-04-2005 05:55 PM

The font's good. Could've been a bit more wood-ish, but all by all, it's good. I don't really get the background, though (not to mention red's not my color, but I should've said before that it's green  ) I definitely love the tiki-man, though. He's just plain awesom :ok:

TaloN 03-04-2005 06:43 PM

do u want a simple background , not an abstract one like that, or something else...

txt cna easily be redone

edt:

green one

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ntikicopy2.jpg

and sorry it took so long man, been at various things over past few days, aint been home for more than 20minutes LOL

Kon-Tiki 03-04-2005 07:13 PM

Simple background, yup. And the green's much better :ok:

Strobe 03-04-2005 08:43 PM

this "green one" is really nice, as far as the background is concerned!

but i am not able to get the connection between the text "i'm a little peanut"
and the rest of the sig.

Kontiki is a little peanut (look at his interests in profile :D ) and he likes the South American style...

taikara 03-04-2005 09:44 PM

'K ben'n klein apenootje!!! :D

Me likey.

wendymaree 04-04-2005 06:30 AM

Oh, yeah, I really like the green version. You've done some awesome sigs, Talon. :ok:

Sean 04-04-2005 10:26 AM

Talon, did you colour brush the original sig to make it green ?

It looks a little.... ''flat'' or one colour.
The red image seems to have more contrast.

Good Job... Tiki Is A Peanut and Now We Have The Proof!

TaloN 04-04-2005 10:35 AM

no magic i used something called a colour adjust layer.

allows you to alter the colour properties of shadows, highlights, and midtones.

the one thing with photoshop is making a green image is rather hard. mixing yellow and blue tones really doesnt work, so you have to use a mixture of green, cyan and yellow, which doesnt give the depth of the magneta, red, yellow, tones i used in the orange one.

i will make a new one soon. thanks for the comments guys :)

TaloN 04-04-2005 11:08 AM

kontiki take 2:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ntiki2copy.jpg

Strobe 04-04-2005 11:11 AM

wow, that's fresh - cool variation, but i liked the first one better, or to be precise
the first one's font...

Sean 04-04-2005 11:15 AM

Hope you dont mind Talon, i had a go at turning the red image into a green one :tomato:

TaloN 04-04-2005 11:36 AM

jesus christ at image quialty. destroyed it.

Kon-Tiki 04-04-2005 02:12 PM

First green version was better. Some ocean/beach scenery on the first (green) version'd probably do the trick.

TaloN 04-04-2005 03:48 PM

LOL  il try agian later
and on a new note

my soverieng craft gallery is up!!

BeefontheBone 05-04-2005 09:35 PM

I like the ones Lucjsen recoloured there - that Mesoamerican look is groovy. They're all a bit big for a sig image, though...

Iron_Scarecrow 06-04-2005 05:52 AM

Hmmmm. Talon you should make me a sig.

The Duality of Man

COLONEL: Marine, what is that button on your body armor?

JOKER: A peace symbol, sir.

COLONEL: Where'd you get it?

JOKER: I don't remember, sir.

COLONEL: What is that you've got written on your helmet?

JOKER: "Born to Kill," sir.

COLONEL: You write "Born to Kill" on your helmet and you wear a peace button. What's that supposed to be, some kind of sick joke?!

JOKER: No, sir.

COLONEL: You'd better get your head and your behind wired together, or I will take a giant muck on you!

JOKER: Yes, sir.

COLONEL: Now answer my question or you'll be standing tall before the man.

JOKER: I think I was trying to suggest something about the duality of man, sir.

COLONEL: The what?

JOKER: The duality of man. The Jungian thing, sir.

COLONEL: Whose side are you on, son?

JOKER: Our side, sir.

COLONEL: Don't you love your country?

JOKER: Yes, sir.

COLONEL: Then how about getting with the program? Why don't you jump on the team and come on in for the big win?

JOKER: Yes, sir!

COLONEL: Son, all I've ever asked of my marines is that they obey my orders as they would the word of God. We are here to help the Vietnamese, because inside every gook there is an American trying to get out. It's a hardball world, son. We've gotta keep our heads until this peace craze blows over.

JOKER: Aye-aye, sir.

Or they take drugs...

Interesting, I use the unedited resource pic as my DPic sometimes.
I must say its an odd image, experiment some more and show it off when finished.

Percuilar.

TaloN 10-10-2005 04:52 PM

the house with the flagpole is owned by some very rich posh people, they got in an arguement with some of the "lower" *cough* council scum* cough* of the village in the pub.

they went home, next morning woke up to that, the people they were argueing with had put it up the pole LOL.

i hate both sets of people, so its all gd

On the other hand i like it...

However, you made good pics! :ok:

Sean 28-05-2006 09:34 PM

He's not using anything.

He's quit graphic design, and won't be back for a while as far as I know. Too busy with his social life, unfortunately.

TaloN 03-06-2006 06:14 PM
