Kizzikat 08-03-2005 08:33 AM

How old is everyone here? I know this might have been asked before, but I did do a search and couldn't find anything. so if it has, don't sue me, ok?

Sebatianos 08-03-2005 08:36 AM

No one will sue you. I voted, but I guess if you really want to find out, you can look into the profile of a member. Most of us did give all the info. Also when a member has a birthday, you can se just how old he/she became that day - at the bottom of the Abandonia Forums.
But how come you didn't say how old you are?

Kizzikat 08-03-2005 08:37 AM

Because I am really, really old. I was curious more about a general demographic, than a specific person. You know, if it was mostly teenagers, dirty old men, something in between.

Sebatianos 08-03-2005 08:41 AM

So old???
You're in the same age group as I am - oldtimer

Kon-Tiki 08-03-2005 09:05 AM

20, chronologically.

Reup 08-03-2005 09:18 AM

Just turned 28...

But out of curiosity
If Abandonia turned out to be filled with Dirty Old Men, Would you be
A. pleased
B. disgusted
C. excited
D. indifferent
about this?

And none of this talk about being really really old. This is a classic gaming site, so no matter how old you are, you're obiously feeling young!

But on the other hand it's a classic gaming site, so the very young must be feeling a bit old ...

The birthday thingy isn't reliable - someone the other week apparently turned 4 - methinks they might've been lying on their profile!

xoopx 08-03-2005 10:52 AM

that poll should have every age as a choice.
im 30, and im not clicking on anything that makes me feel 34

Kon-Tiki 08-03-2005 10:53 AM

Or 25 ;)

Puffin 08-03-2005 11:00 AM

I'm 17.

I sometimes argue with people about my age.. I often lose.
That's sad.
But I don't think age really matters. I have friends of all age.

auhsor 08-03-2005 11:16 AM

Well I'm about 19 and 34 days... I counted them earlier today :)

Lizard 08-03-2005 11:26 AM

A I am seventeen look like twenty, and sometimes I fell like sixty

Koen 08-03-2005 11:42 AM

17, nothing more, nothing less, honestly...

*ponders the question* I pick "D", indifferent.

Koen 08-03-2005 12:10 PM

Since Reup said dirty old men LOL , I would say B, if they weren't so dirty, I would probably choose D.

Kizzikat 08-03-2005 12:15 PM

I don't really care how dirty they are. They're on the other side of a screen, and most likely on the other side of the world as well.

Omuletzu 08-03-2005 12:31 PM

I would chose A.It would mean that grandmas and granpas has FINALLY begun to play PC games and dont look at them as Devils work...

Omuletzu 08-03-2005 12:41 PM

Abandonia should be filled with old men.Because they are the people that lived the DOS period. We young bucks are just people that caught the bug in the last minute.

Kon-Tiki 08-03-2005 12:43 PM

Actually, that'd be 20-30 year olds. Older than that'd mostly be C64, Vic 20, Atari and other older computers. The time they went to Dos games, they weren't really kids anymore.

Omuletzu 08-03-2005 12:45 PM

well yes, but they are old, from my perspective ;)

DeathDude 08-03-2005 01:32 PM

19 for now, although I'll be 20 next month.

unclefester 08-03-2005 01:35 PM

I wish I was older in order to have the pleasure of playing all these games on all these formats... :(
(Or games started being published now ;) )

Calamity 08-03-2005 01:48 PM

I'm currently 20, that changes in December though.

Don't forget about us dirty old women. :P

FlightorFight 08-03-2005 02:12 PM

17 going on 18 :bye:

ReamusLQ 08-03-2005 02:19 PM

<whistles>I am sixteen doing on seventeen...

Kon-Tiki 08-03-2005 02:21 PM

Why're all teens saying which age they're going to? It's... remarkable.

To make us feel older duh! It's like a little kid saying "I'm almost six!" when you ask their age :D

FlightorFight 08-03-2005 02:25 PM

Because I'll be 18 in a few days :bleh:

Koen 08-03-2005 02:26 PM

Yeahyeah, like "I'm almost 80"

taikara 08-03-2005 02:45 PM

I'm 25 (just turned). It sucks I'm in a new bracket on the poll :(

Such is life, though, hehe.

I started gaming at age 6. Uber-geek, whee.

Anyone remember this slogan:

How you gonna do it? PS2 it!!

:D

Kon-Tiki 08-03-2005 02:46 PM

Never heard of it, but still lively remember the ads that used this slogan:

"Don't underestimate the power of Playstation <whisper>Playstation!</whisper>"

TaloN 08-03-2005 02:55 PM

18 last week :)

Calamity 08-03-2005 02:57 PM

I know I put what I was turning because it scares the hell out of me. :P

troop18546 08-03-2005 03:18 PM

I will be 16 this April 11th. So I'll age myself and say that I'm 16. (15+) :D

rainwife 08-03-2005 03:53 PM

23 (24 in June)

The Levitating Nun 08-03-2005 04:20 PM

I'm 16 in age. But about 83 in cynicism

madcrow 08-03-2005 04:22 PM

19, here. i remember the good old days before the f-ing ESRB ratings and stuff, and all the goreat games that came out during that period. i remember being allowed to play doom when i was 8 or 9...

Grinder 08-03-2005 04:45 PM

14. turning 15 in september. i didn't know what the heck doom was until i was 13 and found it on dosgames.com. first i thought it might be too brutal, but what did i know;)

Tulac 08-03-2005 07:38 PM

I'm 16 the biggest age group on Abandonia, And Kizzikat there are some khm very old(wait's for a slap from those members) members, but also some very young, it's the age difference that also makes this forum so diverse...

DeathDude 08-03-2005 07:44 PM

Agreed having different age groups allow different perspectives on a large variety of topics, it makes the forums that much more interesting.

Partizanka 08-03-2005 08:16 PM

I'm 19 now, although I am senior in skill and experience to most people I work with, which sometimes makes me feel very old.

wormpaul 08-03-2005 08:44 PM

i`m 21

Fawfulhasfury 08-03-2005 09:24 PM

14(15 in April)

Gun Man 08-03-2005 10:19 PM

I hadn't really thought about it before, but it's not like you have to tell everyone the next age you will be. I mean, it's never going to be "I'm 18, next birthday 23, the birthday after that, 14...." :D

dragonLancer 08-03-2005 10:47 PM

14 :D ive been gaming since i was born :max: (literaly) my dad was a huge game fan so natuarly i am :D (and i LOVE IT)

Iron_Scarecrow 09-03-2005 02:26 AM

I'm 17, I've been told I look 19, and I've been told I act 12. :Brain:

I can't figure it out.

YMIHere 09-03-2005 02:35 AM

I'm 21. Apparently, I used to wake my parents up by loading up Alleycat when I was four years old. The sad part is, I probably knew more about DOS back then. =P

TheVoid 09-03-2005 01:22 PM

18, but not for too long :D

I don't think 20 makes you a "dirty old woman", however dirty and female you are.

Not there yet is true (:phew:), I just feel too old when I'm in places where the majority is 14-15 (though I'm rather sure here is not one of those places).

Me, dirty? Never...

Rogue 09-03-2005 03:15 PM

I'm surprised that 10 of us are in range 25-34. Well, I’m 32, and born in August.

Danny252 09-03-2005 03:21 PM

I am no longer in the bottom group and can no longer lie about my age when registering! w00t! I am no longer born in '89 ^^

Omuletzu 09-03-2005 03:22 PM

I believe many older members refrain from voting, as i'm sure the majority of this site's members are above 30, or at least above 20

xoopx 09-03-2005 05:44 PM

ive been playing games since before you guys were born!

MAKE A PILGRIMAGE TO THE CAVE OF THE VIDEOGAME ORACLE

Mad-E-Fact 09-03-2005 06:20 PM

wow, ladytron. damn fine record - i heard that on BBC 6 Music the other day and I'd forgotten how good it was.

Danny252 09-03-2005 08:24 PM

Im aging either too fast or too slow..
why does everyone who meets me on the net and dosen't know my age assume I am 3/4 years older than I am?

BeefontheBone 09-03-2005 08:26 PM

take it as a compliment, mate. much better than them thinking you're younger!

Cause you're too smart for a normal 13 year old. Hell you could be smarted than me.

EDIT LOL See I can't even spell smarter. LOL

Ajax 10-03-2005 05:00 AM

I just turned 23. It's an age that doesn't get much attention, but I like it. I'm old enough to be considered a responsible adult, but not old enough to be truly responsible. Fun age... :D

Heh, unbelievable. I would've never expected someone here to recognize that line. ;) Cool track, infact the best one from Ladytron IMO, especially the Soulwax mix. :ok:

sorry for offtopic... *hides*

Well, I'm 33 and I don't know anyone who'd describe me as truly responsible. :P
