Sim Theme Park (aka Theme Park World) [SOLD]
I was wondering if someone vould get some of the Theme Games...That is, if an of them are abandon..(i'm talking about games like Theme Hospital, Theme Park etc.)
I remember playing Theme Hospital for a while, it was pretty fun =). Never really played many other theme/sim games.
I have Theme Park, I think that is abandonware. Theme Hospital is not abandonware, I saw it at my local games shop new for ?5 last week. I would be happy to upload Theme Park if Kosta and everyone wants me to.
I also have Theme Park but i would be more than glad to let Havell upload it... I also have Theme Hospital but it doesn't run
I've started getting it off the CD, but I have noticed one thing, it is 160MB! A lot of this might be the intro so I'll get rid of that but I'll tell you how big just the game is when I'm finished.
I have looked in the data files, most of the space is taken up by the movies you see when you get on the rides yourself, just about to delete them but it meaans that if I upload the game you wouldn't be able to see these movies.
Success! The game is 21.5MB without movies. (140MB of movies!!!   )
Problem: Game doesn't start, it just stays on the "loading data files" line on the DOS prompt. Almost certainly to do with the missing intro. |
Try that: keep only one of the smallest movies, than copy that small movie many times and rename it all the time to names of the other movies, so the game thinks the movies are all there, but instead there's just that one movie, which should save much space.
Long story: Your suggestion didn't work, though it was a very good idea, then, I got suspicious. I tried the game with all of the components present, It did not work. Remembering Windows XP's (in)famous performance at running old games I tried the game on my 8 year old Win 95 PC. Surprise, surprise :) it worked, even with all of the animations removed. So it seems this game is not compatible with XP. I'll try it on XP with DOSBOX and get back to you.
It works! With a bit of fiddling about with filenames and locations and lots of help from Data's DOSBox newbie guide I got it to work on XP. This is the 21.5MB version, not the 160MB version! In fact when zipped, it is 13.7MB!
i really want theme park too :D
again if space is an issue i have spare. |
R Havell
If you would be so kind as too write a review for the game and take a couple of screenshots! I would be happy to place it on the site! The game is Excellent! I have it myself in the closet :D |
What format do I write the review in? (Word, Notepad, etc).
Standard text-format.
Does anyone know how to run DOSBox in fullscreen mode as it would make taking the screenshots much easier.
Alt + Enter
But you do not need to do that. The screenshots can be taken perfectly in the window too. :) |

No, they are all being sold according to overcats |
I have 6 screenshots, a review and the game (13.7MB).
Hmmm....
Keep the game on hold for the time being, R Havell... Kosta must decide if Theme is to be on the site, since dream pointed out that the game is still being sold. |
alt - enter works :)
got theme park last night and ran in dos box works great :) |
I know the game is on hold but I now also have the manual in .htm format.
