I had a sudden rush of inspiration over the weekend adn did this little thingy. Might use it as a banner for my site soon.

Ingredients: Screenshot from an old game "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" with the half-human half-mechanical face of T-800 (the "fleshy" part was removed) on which color balance was adjusted to give it a greenish tint, screenshot from a Matrix code screensaver. Rest was done with MS Paint and MS Photo Editor.

How do you like it?

I like the idea, but i don't like the colors(red + green).Otherwise good concept :ok:

strangely enough. I'm missing the horses. It's kind of strange to see the terminator and read ''realm of the horseman''

i like everything apart from the font of the red letters, and the shade of red

The N of Horseman is in a lighter shade of red :bleh:
The idea itself's cool, but indeed... the horses're lacking, and the font could be a bit less standard and more cybery to fit the theme.

On purpose - to visually tie it to the Matrix Code that is in the background.

Its nice but i think you should change the font!

First of all I'd suggest another font type, which fits better to the matrix code in the background. then i would try to add some "motion" to it, an highlighten the last letter with some backlight in addition to the colour.

I've quickly sticked this pic together in PSP to show you what i mean. Tthe font is called 'Skesis'. There might be another one, which looks better.

and i have to agree with the others. some horses would be nice...

think the text needs some work. and its very easy to code an animated matrix effect with Photoshop if you have it.

Sure, lots of work to do. The pic was thought as an example.

Thinking about an animated matrix effect, you could probably use a flash animation. SWiSH is a nice and easy to use flash proggie I tried a few times. And if I remember correctly, it has even a predefined function for the "matrix effect".

Oddly enough, me likey the redone one! it'd be cool if you could make it an animated .gif, or even flash though. None to shabby. The terminator dosen't fit too well, I could better see a faded shiloette of a clidesdale in green, or....something. Nice look, but odd sort of TV weatherman humor to it. (terminator + horsemen? What, doomsday meets Robin Hood?)

Try Terminator + The Unknown Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse. :D

I like your new design, it's much more clearly arranged than the old one. But where is the site banner gone? Or is the space at the left supposed for it? Music isn't playing either... But you're on the right track. Keep on going! :ok:

It's better than it was before but it still needs some improvement ;)

On the left is the menu that starts up when you select a section from the top bar. And for the music to play, you need to click the |> icon, it will change to || and the playback will begin shortly. At least it does in IE.
What browser are you using? Might mean that I'll have to do some quick fixes... :whistle:
