One of the best games from my odd child hood. brings back fond memories. :w00t: I must say that despite the older graphics and sound quality, the gameplay is unbelievable. in most 'action games' any puzzles that might be thrown in have a certain lack luster quality, that was not the case with Dangerous Dave. Download NOW :ok: :ok: :bye:

When you play this game, you should check out who made it :D

Sound familiar eh :)

Iron_Scarecrow 21-10-2004 11:47 AM

Why who made it?

muaddib 21-10-2004 01:57 PM

John Romero

Kon-Tiki 21-10-2004 02:01 PM

Guy from Daikatana?

Iron_Scarecrow 21-10-2004 02:05 PM

What's Daikatana?
Whose John Romero?

Tom Henrik 21-10-2004 02:11 PM

Just in case you wondered who John Romero is...

Here's a little Image I have prepared for the Easter Egg list for Doom 2:
(Romero has a strange sence of humour. ;) )

as far as i know, nope! only on DOSBox, VDMSound and XP...

dr_st 11-05-2005 05:27 PM

I'd actually think that Dave (at least Dave 1) will run on any Windows without any problems at all and without needing any "DOSBOXes". It runs on my XP "raw". Why would 2K be different?

Cole 29-05-2005 01:41 AM

Try running it from the command line?

start->run-> and then type "CMD"

then you will be in the command line. Im not sure how it works on 2k, and if any of these ideas are correct, but when you are in the command line, find the file.

(DIR to see the directories, CD directory to change to that directory. find dave.exe, and then just type dave!

Dangerous Dave is nothing more than brilliant. I have thoughts about remaking it in a 3d game, but i am not sure. Download it, anyway. No better way you can spend 72 kb in :sneaky: .

(Some fun facts about Dangerous Dave:

Dangerous Dave [the character, not the game] was the first one to be in a Sidescroller engine on the PC. The first map was a clean rip off from Super Mario... You can download that demo (The first non-edited) here: DOWNLOAD included is a level editor - although i couldnt get any sense out of it)

So that's what that game was called! I remember playing it 5-10 years ago on someone else's PC!

That said, none of us could ever get past level 3, since we couldn't figure out how to activate the jet pack! We tried holding down and tapping jump....

What are the buttons?

Cool game.

keropi 29-01-2006 12:37 PM

you know, this is not the 1st dangerous dave game...
apogee released DD1, 2 and 3 that were made by ID software as shareware...
the 3 had EGA gfx, and EXTRA SMOOTH console like scrolling, also they had sb/adlib sound and they were more complex than this one... :ok:

This in fact IS a 1st dangerous dave game.

You are refering to the THE ALL-NEW MISADVENTURES OF DANGEROUS DAVE trilogy, which came after this one.

The fact that graphics usualy improve with new versions of game should clue you in on that.

Another game, another set of memories from waaay back. Abandonia rocks.

I highly recommend Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion for all you Dave fans. Much better gameplay and a spooky theme to boot.

zirkoni 13-04-2009 07:26 AM

Have you found all the secret levels? If you find them and collect all the treasures you can get score:99999 even before the last level.
