My trusty Archos AV320 is gone for good now  . Watching the odd movie, listening to my MP3's or listening to the news on the radio on my near daily commute. She was a trusty old steed.

Luckily I still have a PDA so I can still listen to some MP3 or even watch a movie but a lot less as I only have 1GB of RAM as apposed to the 20GB I had when I was using the AV320.

Maybe if I am a good boy I will get enough money for my birthday to be able to afford the new one next month.

Just needed to share my loss.

Who needed that expensive crapy media player anyway?:tomato:

(was there any emus for it? )

The Niles 06-05-2005 07:48 PM

Emus?

Anyway at least two people. The guy I sold it to and me.

Anubis meant emulators, I think. Like GoBoy or Pocket ScummVM.

EDIT: Anyway, PDAs have their advantages. I'm using a P800 smartphone and really like to play the old lucasarts' on it, when sitting in a train or something. Don't use it as a Mp3-player, though.

Rogue 06-05-2005 07:58 PM

Yes, emu or emulators. :)

For example I have GBA, which has couple really cool emulators, including GB, NES, GG and SMS. All of them run at full speed, and have many options such as save state etc.

The Niles 06-05-2005 08:00 PM

I have ScummVM on my PDA yes. Been wanting to try the one for Sierra games as well but I have not gotten down to it yet (seems more complicated as well).

Rogue 06-05-2005 08:02 PM

But none on that MP3 player?

efthimios 06-05-2005 08:12 PM

Sorry to hear of your selling of it. I have an mp3 player but I never use it since I got my pocket pc close to 2 years ago. I installed a ST emulator and it is fun. I had not idea there was a scum for pocket pc, might want to try it.
I wonder if other dos games could work under pocket pc.

read a book :P

Rogue 06-05-2005 08:30 PM

There is vMac port for pocket PC as far as I know.

Other then that I am sure that there is Pocket NES emulator for PPC, as as well some other ones (never memorized them as I don't have PPC).

Try also this link ;)

Emus? Well, the fine folk over at Rockbox are making some open source dirmware for my iRiver H140 that'll give it (among other things) a Gameboy emulator! So :bleh: to you!

The Niles 07-05-2005 04:45 PM

My old MP3 player could not handle emu's as it did not have a true opperating system (Rockbox was trying to port linux to it with some succes but those guys work extremely slow). Anyway I do love my PDA. There are a host of possibilities but the memory is very limited to do a lot at once, even with a 1GB SD cards as I have. Never liked game boy games, too limited, so I don't mind that I have to live without them. I would like something as good as DOSBox for the PPC but the only port in existence does not work on WinCE2003SE (maybe a project for some abandonia coder? Data?).

Data 07-05-2005 09:43 PM

there are 3 ports of dosbox to the ppc pda architecture.

pocketdosbox.sf.net
pdosbox
and that one of matriach or so.

I'll pm you the links when I get home. (they are in my bookmarks)
