Eternam
Feel free to comment and discuss this game here. Also, if you have any useful tips or tricks don't hesitate to share them with the others! Thanks!
Review |
Dang!
I forgot to mention something in the review. (And once the review is up it cannot be changed). The game IS cracked! Tracy will ask for a number at the beginning of the game. Just write whatever you want and then click Enter like a complete maniac! She will call for security, but you will NOT be expelled from the game. Instead you will find yourself in Eternam and ready for action! :D |
sounds interesting.
I'll try it out. Humour like Terry Pratchett, eh? :? |
Quote:
In that it is far out... yes  |
hmmm
there appears tob e something wrong with the crack The game always quits after I enter in the (erronous) password |
Did you click Enter like a complete maniac?
|
I AM a complete maniac :)
i'll try again |
Also there are two different files.
I think the correct one is GO |
Drakkhen
Actaully, Drakkhen used this same game style and came out late 80s? At first I thought this was an unsung sequal to Drakkhen until I saw the cartoon pics at the bottom.

Does anyone know how to slow the game down?? When I'm playing (particularly in 3D mode) I press one key and move so fast I can't keep track of it. Same goes for anything trying to kill me; it moves so quickly it's been and gone before I even register it's there. Anyone else have this problem? If you do, how do you cope with it? :?
|
Play the game under DosBox. You can get it here: http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/download.php?main=1
|
Ahh, right :D Thanks; I'll try that. I've been trying to find a copy of Eternam for about ten years now ever since I lost my old one...you can imagine how frustrating it was not to be able to play it  *scurries off to download DosBox*
|
its in french. all the text.
|
You can find the copy remover here -> ETERNAM CRACK , there is an english version (and lots of other great games) on Frenchkiss abandonware
|
Well, I realize I'm behind you guys by a few years or so, but I downl;oaded this game and cannot get the crack to work. Any suggestions?
:sos: |
This has been discussed in this thread before. Please read the previous posts.

It's a really nice and humourous adventure, but there are some issues which make it less comfortable. For example: If you talk to a person you cannot choose all multiple-choice options like in the LucasArts games and if the conversation is over, you have to leave the room and re-enter it, if you want to talk again to that person. And in some cases it seems that you can only talk once to a person and then never again, really strange  Another thing is, that you can die many deaths like in the good old Sierra games. Besides that, it's really worth a try. It's that kind of a game, where you can laugh your a** off :D

Is the protected status of this game going to extend beyond 15 years? Anyone know?
|
I don't think so.
Remember: in order to be safe (if we don't know the actual release date only the year), it will be downloadable on Abandonia 16 years from January 1st of the year it was published and no sooner. |
It's now been 16 years since 1992. Any chance of a download?
|
|
When the troubles with changing site contents are over, the game will be downloadable on main site again, yes.
|
The status of this game has been reevaluated. It has now been declared Abandonware.
|
These are good news. I remember Eternam to be as easy as enjoyable. Worth playing for the few days you will take to complete it ;)
|
Like someone already mentioned, this one seems to use the same graphics engine as the one used in Drakkhen. Anyone know what other games use the same/similar engine?
|
OMFG :)
I played this sucker back when it first came out - I had a job with the software company that released it and helped show it off at a computer show in Vegas back in in '93 or so. I still have at least one of the CDs I got back then stashed away somewhere.
I still remember that damn dog beating you up, and the disembodied finger, and the creepy doctor, and the stupid guard who wanted his sweetmeat! It'll be interesting to see just how much of the puzzles I remember (especially "I'm SOAKED! I'm DOUBLE SOAKED!" ;) |
BTW, only 5.3 Meg? WOW.
I played this back on a PC-XT with a 2x CD drive (read-only!) and a hardback-sized hard drive with a whole 20 Meg of space... and now I plan to run it in DosBox on a 2 Gig machine from a 4Gb flash drive on a Linux machine booting off a postage-stamp sized CF card. Wild. :) |
"Eternam was, as far as I know, the first game to use this approach, and it is a good one."
No. Sleeping Gods Lie in 1989. Drakkhen and The Colony in 1990. |
Sadly, I can't correctly download this game. I started to download it and download 1 MB only!
Edit: And the original size of the packed game is 5420 KB. |
It still not works!
|
I tried to download the game while I was at work. This was with my notebook on a clearly sub-optimal connection.
Took me roughly 15 seconds. I got it all. It works. The problem is more likely to be on your end. |
Clear your browser cache and then try re-downloading.
|
Thank you very much for your answers!
I could correctly downloaded it. But when I start it with the go.bat and I select the 'Introduction & Game' option and I get only music and I can't skip it and I have to restart the DosBox! I have to run the game with 'Game' option and it starts the game. |
