The last few days were wonderful when it comes to the weather.
Unfortunately I got a few sunburns..

Anybody who can stay in the sun without getting them ?

Quintopotere 30-05-2005 07:48 AM

Wath a strange topic...

Anyway, i have a pale skin, so i get sunburns even staying in the shadow :pissed:
Believe it or not, it occurred me, due to the reflected sunlight by the sun of the beach!

Reup 30-05-2005 07:53 AM

I've got a few friend who can stay in the sun pretty long without getting any sunburns, but they're sort of Maroccan, so I guess that doesn't really count. I myself get sunburned all the time unless I use sunblock factor 20+ A LOT. Too bad, because I'll always stay pale and unattractive :(

Tulac 30-05-2005 08:14 AM

I only wear sun protection cremes for one day when I'm on my summer vacationa nad out a lot, that's enough for my skin to get darker, and then I become immune to sunburn...
When I'm in the city I don't really get sunburn, I keep away from the sun...

I've never actually had a sunburn and i can actually get a half-decent tan if I try. But I'm freakishly white most of the time too, all to do with living in Britain I think.

efthimios 30-05-2005 10:36 AM

I don't particularly get sunburned more than any other greeks, i guess. Then, the last time I went on vacation was in 1989 so I do not have any recent data on the matter.

As for being white pale, my personal view is that white pale (I don't like the word pale but using the word creamy white sounds strange) women are very attractive. :max:

Lately the weather has been real strange here. Everyday it's been freezing but it warms up around 3 in the afternoon, and it's not even winter yet. So I wont be getting sunburnt for a while. But I don't usually get sunburnt too often, I try to stay away from the sun and beaches. But I've been told I have a good skin complexion cause I drink a lot of milk.

I get sunburns very fast. My skin always get red and I look like a cancer :). Even if I use protection creams. In Poland there also has been very hot recently. Today, after PE lesson I thought I wouldn't menage to get home. I was like a fried egg :)

Puffin 30-05-2005 01:01 PM

It's been really nice weather here lately, even though it isn't much warmer than 12-15°c. But still, it feels much much warmer.
I get sunburnt VERY easily.

I know this 5years old guy that I often babysit, he's outdoor at kindergarten all day long, and he looks DARK!! I envy him :(

Sun isn't on my side. I get a lot of sunburns. :tai:

Maikel 30-05-2005 01:36 PM

I'm a bronze god already........in my mind :D

DeathDude 30-05-2005 01:39 PM

It's been really sunny here as of late, and starting to get warm, just how I like as for sunburning for me, well I already got a slight tan already, but it takes me awhile before it happens.

TheGiantMidgit 30-05-2005 05:23 PM

Oriental, so I'm already kind of brown. Then again, I only go out at night, so family members have taken to telling me I'm pale.

(I don't like the word pale but using the word creamy white sounds strange):
"Hang on a minute! You can't call him the White Knight; he's not white, he's a sort of creamy beigey colour!"
"Well we can't call him the Creamy Beigey Knight, it sounds stupid."
"What can we call him then?"
"How about the Whitish Knight?"

A big box of cookies for anyone who gets the reference :D

Havell 30-05-2005 06:01 PM

Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail?

(the source of 99.9% of all knight jokes)

TheGiantMidgit 30-05-2005 06:03 PM

I don't think it's Holy Grail (the one film that has formed it own culture from D&D nerds qouting it)

efthimios 30-05-2005 06:27 PM

Monty Pythons are the best.

Not sure about that though, it does sound familiar.

BeefontheBone 30-05-2005 06:50 PM

far more obscure than that, and it'll be hard if you're not british i imagine.

Reup 30-05-2005 07:02 PM

Mmm... we were talking about sunburn weren't we?

Data, be careful when you're in the sun or this might happen:

And BotB, I don't know your quote's origin... it's not Monty P's QftHG at least. There's only a black knigh (he's invincible!). Google also abandoned me with this one :(

ouch! but it feels like that.

Stroggy 30-05-2005 07:34 PM

Hmm I don't get sunburns easily, but I don't get bronzed quickly either... which is odd since my dad gets a tan in no time (but that may be because he was born in Brazil... not sure if that is a real factor though)

BeefontheBone 30-05-2005 07:34 PM

That's unlikely to happen unless he's wearing a bikini of some sort (or lying under a strip of something I suppose)

Reup 30-05-2005 07:48 PM

Well... Data's sunbathing habits are largely unknown to us... which I consider a good thing :P

efthimios 30-05-2005 08:11 PM

Was Kate Lonergan part of that series? ....

Lizard 30-05-2005 10:58 PM

I got periodically sunburst on first day I am sunbathing. No matter what I do I simply ALWAYS get it
But becouse I am quite bronze after 2 or 3 days and I wont get sunburn after that I guess I should be simply happy and shutup.... :tease: :bleh:

Indignus IV 31-05-2005 12:35 AM

Me? I'm descended from some Ukrainian plains riders. So my skin is white, but a little ruddy. Out in the sun, I fare great with only a little sunblock. Which is weird, because I'm pretty pale. I cant say the same for my other family members...
:max:

Malice Mizer 31-05-2005 01:15 AM

The sun? the bastard sun!?

All the *dirty word* scum come out in the sun!
