World War II GI

Is the game abandoned? All i can find are unnoficial websites made by fans.
The game is from GT interactive. If it is considered abandoned i would upload it.

World War 2 GI [2010]

World War 2 GI.

It was released by GT interactive in 1999 IIRC, ran completely in DOS and was widely regarded as a complete waste of time compared to everything else in the market at the time, but I always had a soft spot for it, maybe it was just bringing back fond memories of the days of doom, hexen and RTCW.

I used to have it on disc ages ago, but it has been lost for some time.

So does anybody have any info on it?

Hi. All I know is that it used the same engine Duke Nukem 3D and Blood did (Build).

Sorry, but we can't put it on the site because somebody's got a copyright on it.

The oldwarez list button in the services menu will tell you if a game's protected or not.

WWII GI (aka World War II GI) [2010]

WWII GI is an old game that runs on the Build Engine, and the company that makes it is now defunct (like Digital Cafe) and I was wondering if it could be looked into/possibly added to the site.

could not find sold anywhere (which is a good thing)

btw you might want to check NAM, which is basically the same thing just better

WW 2 GI

Its an old first person ww2 game. Made by GT Interactive in 1999. I used to play this when I was little and would love to play it again.

I have it, even managed to disable the cd check. (same protection as NAM)

Great game, and even better when combined with its official "Platoon Leader" addon.

I've never played the Platoon Leader addon didn't even know there was one. Makes me want to play it even more now.

Also for whom it may concern, the game does not need the actual disc.
the protection links to an enormous garbage file on the CD. a file that
does not contain anything, so uploading an ISO would serve no purpose.

There is no redbook audio, no movies, nothing. just one 600?mb garbage file made to keep people from copying it to their HDD.

tl;dr : don't upload iso's for that "full experience" as its pointless and will just waste bandwidth. XD

Abandonia's space limit is 300MB, so if you could compile for not needing the disc and it's under the limit you could upload for the main site and write a review.

Vampocalypse 22-06-2015 05:42 PM

I'm currently putting together a collection of WWIIGI and its related files. (manual/addon/screenshots).

Not sure yet how who to contact to gain access to the FTP but I'll get to that eventually.

Can you believe my boxed copy of the game came with 3 CD's? one for the game, one for Internet access or something, and one.. containing just a 30kb manual. XD

Try creating first a thread on Offers and then wait for contact from one of the moderators.
One disc for a 30kb manual? Whoa, what a waste XD

Vampocalypse 22-06-2015 10:12 PM

Cool, I'll post a message there then when I got some good screenshots.

Edit : Screenshots made for both WW2GI and Platoon Leader.

Guess I'll have to write a review too, not sure how that will go :o
