I was wondering if Uprising was declear abandon yet, because it's made by 3DO and 3DO doesn't exist anymore.

3DO copyrights sold to various companies. Current situation unclear as who holds copyrights to what game(s).

It may be abandonware or it may not be abandonware. I went to my local EB and the guy said that he thought it was abandonware so I came here to check. It was a pretty cool game where you are in some tank and you go around building buildings. It was pretty fun.

I have that... I guess I could upload it if its abandoned...

Can you make sure it's a rip version not an ISO.

Bradley, I would suggest you remove that link fro you signature, it is kind of like advertising ok not really ;) ) but it does have some games for dl there that are ESA protected, and that will be frowned upon....

What games on my site are ESA protected...

Uprising was distributed by 3DO Company in 1997-98, I don't think its abandonware. Uprising 2 - Lead and Destroy by Cyclone Studios is still for sale in many big software stores.

I reckon that a software may not be considered abandonware, if a sequel is still for sale.

3do is out of business buddy, bankrupt and don't support their games anymore, nobody does. Uprising 2 was made by another company.

Oh I see! So, is Might & Magic gone abandonware or someone bid for this?

Another company may have bought out the series, I'm not sure. Give it a check on the net or mobygames.

You know what, I don't know why it's considered to be still sold when something like Ebay only sells it. If HOTU has it it's probably not ESA protected because HOTU is watched too.

I said it's status is UNKNOWN, but that CDACCESS lists the game. Sure they are sold out right now, but they might re-stock.

This means the game is leaning more in the direction of not being abandoned, but it is still unknown.

I say somebody should upload with review and then for if it is abandonware, then it can be added right away.

Well, go ahead and write one, then. But keep in mind that it might never be added to the site.

Cause they're speeds are horible and I can't install anything on my computer, they have an ISO. It's german though.

And if you can't install anything on your computer, then surely having the game on Abandonia wouldn't help you much either, would it?:huh:

if you had a non-install copy like a lot of you're games then I'd be able to play it.

Doesn't the fact that we "don't know if it's abandonware or not" automatically mean it can't be on the site?
And since you're so desperate to play Uprising, why don't you go to a friend's house or something, download it there from Underdogs overnight, install it, copy the game folder to a CD, then come home and copy the folder to your computer.

Even if all those didn't "count" that would not change the fact that several of the games you're offering are most definitely by ESA members, who will NOT allow you to host their games without their permission. The only reason why you haven't got into trouble yet is that your site is too small.

Same thing as eBay - they're just people selling their used copies. Amazon itself doesn't carry Uprising.
MobyGames doesn't sell anything.

Uprising isn't sold at any of the online stores listed at the thread in the Favourite Oldies forum. Also, 3DO is in bankruptcy, and the rights to Uprising didn't seem to get sold to anyone. I'd say this game is very much abandoned (but of course that doesn't mean it should be added on Abandonia).

They are not just an internet organisation. Besides, your site is offering titles that are still sold, thus it doesn't comply with the Abandonia policy. I'd recommend taking the link to your site down, and then thinking it through - why is it that you're running the site anyway? To honour the titles? Then offering purchaseable games for free is working against that.

I cant remember one game`s name. I think that game is action/arcade in it are citadels(citadels are like huge towers) and ships/cars which u drive around the map and attack enemy`s citadels in that game u can upgrade allmost everything. I tried to search in abandonia.com but didnt found :unsure: . Maybe someone know that game please tell me it`s name... :sos:

Oh, and you might want to have a look at Warcraft, it's pretty similar to what you described (though not exact).

I know this game, I even purchased it. Not that great of a game, but pretty original. I'm sorry to say that I don't remember the damn name, but as soon as see the box laying around somewhere I'll get back to you.

In that game, you are piloting your own island/citadel. You can add weapons such as cannons and later on laser towers and the like, and the maps are often really windy and you need to pilot your citadel in a windy canyon in one of the first few missions to gain your rank and be allowed to fight.

Well, the game I was thinking about is 100% not Uprising... I was talking about an old game, not a new 3D graphic game...

The game I was refering to was (is) Stratosphere.

NO. I downloaded it. I Downloaded 1time with FlashGet(downloading accelerator program) second time downloaded regurarly (no download accelerators) and third time with accelerator. All downloaded files size is same. I think that uprising.rar is really coreupted, try download by yourself...

Dude, I have downloaded it on my other computer from my site and it isn't corrupt. I did download it myself too and my friend has downloaded it cause we are playing tonight. There has been 142 downloads from my site of Uprising and nobody has told me that it's corrupt.
