I've just got the popup below, note that it's very possible to detect the browser type, the author was just a lazy bastard.
so what I wanted to ask was, does anyone else get any stupid (or preferably amusing) ads?

I once had the biggest laugh after running Ad-Aware. I had only a few results, most being tracker cookies, but there was one finding with a TAC level of 5. That one was called Windows.

no, I mean ADvertisements, those show up in banners and such (as well as pop ups like the abowementioned)

The only pop ups I see anymore are some that are flash based. Using Opera and even some times Firefox is ok now. Actualy, even using Internet Explorer with the yahoo block of pop ups is very good too.

The funny thing is (the very very very rare case) when I do get some pop ups that try to emulate a proper window (like the one you posted an image of) that they look soo fake with my current windowblinds skin that there is no way to fool me/anyone.

I don't know. When I was 10 there was no such thing as the internet. I guess you are right.
