Ok, I thought it was time for a new game.. Samre rules as usual The first person names a quote from a movie, the person who guesses the movie and the character saying it gets to post a new one...
ok here it goes: Quote: " You're on a need to know basis, and you don't need to know" |
The Rock, said by Nicholas Cage.
Speaking of him, did you know he is going to be playing Ghost Rider in the upcoming Marvel film? It could be cool. Crap, now it's my turn. Ummmmm.... -"All creatures are beautiful in the eyes of the Lord!" -"Not her" -"...no, not her" |
clues! clues!
|
I think I know the title but not the character's name. Can we just post one of the two and then the person who finds the second wins or do we have to know both to answer at all?
|
it's all one quote...it's an exchange froma movie. It's an older movie, and it is freakin hilarious
|
Quote:
|
no...<looks at back of movie for more clues>
It was made in 1989, and has Michael Keaton in it |
Batman Returns?
 I don't know |
The Dream Team ?
|
Yea, that's what my gut it telling me too. Dream Team. Naturally, actor names are always out of my grasp... they always seem so trivial to me. I think it was Peter Boyle who said it.
|
Stroggy gets it. Dream Team it is
If you haven't seen it, rent it...it is HILARIOUS! LOL |
Alright, here's one which should be rather easy:
"Put the pick in there, Pete, and turn it 'round real neat. " |
Quote:
|
That quote, for some reason, didn't seem to fit either that scene or the entire movie at all.
|
so I'm assuming I'm right? Ok then!
Quote:
|
Easy,... Dead Poets Society
|
The turn is yours
|
here, have at it "My Morse is so rusty, I could be sending him dimensions on playmate of the month. " |
Hunt for Red October?
|
correct.
|
I got one!
"Its a robot! Ash is a goddam robot! |
As long as Doc Adrian doesn't claim his turn, Ill go ahead and post one..
This one shoulnd't be to hard: "It wouldn't be long for he would be seeing the bats aswell" |
Quote:
|
Quote:
|
both wrong...
|
ok, sorry for double posting
A little hint: It's a movie by Terry Gilliam |
fear and loathing in las vegas.
|
ding ding ding, We Have a Winner!!!
your turn |
Quote:
|
o yeah and to you with the throat problem. your quote about robots is from alien.
new quote time. "stick all the bits of brain in a plastic bag barry, we'll need them for anaylasis" |
Bad Taste.
|
correct. a quoter is you.
|
Okay, here's one from a pretty recent "movie"
"les jeux sont faites" |
oh comeon. the majority first language on these forums is english. dont be putting non english films up.
|
It should be "les jeux sont faits", is the mistake intentional ? Anyway you can hear that one in every casino, so my guess will be Ocean twelve.
|
I'll give a hint: it's not a french film at it was nominated for an oscar recently.
|
why is it a "movie" , rather than a movie stroggy. and did you ever actually watch bad taste or did you just google it.
more hints would be good if you are going to be using either a: forighn translations of english language films or b: non english language films. as this is meant to be an english language forum using quotes from movies that arnt english language seems a bit unfair really. |
I did not google it, and I think using quotes from a movie with a lot of succes (and controverse) which was not in english will prevent people from simply googling it. I called it a "movie" because some see it as an actual movie while others see it as a documentary.
I've given quite a few hints, now please, quit complaining. |
the majority of people here have english as there primary language.
|
I believe the movie was dubbed into english in Britain and the US, in any case a quality movie doesn't have to come from the US or Britain, now does it?
Haven't you ever seen classics like Das Boot? |
Sea Inside?
That's about the only foreign movie I remember from last year's oscar. I don't remember any french in it though..... |
It's not in french.
|
Nop, that one was actually spanish :bleh:
|
Oh, is "sea inside" by any chance "Mar adentro"? I saw that one with a friend not too long ago(a few months)
It's not the answer, though... did you like the movie? |
:ot: could we go back to the game please??
|
Quote:
|
I didn't meant you but, people moaning about foreign films
|
Oh, my apologies then.
|
Quote:
|
 Les Miserables, yes I know its french...but.... :wall:
|
Shall I tell you the answer?
|
Yes. Tell us. Please.
:D |
Wild guess. Der Untergang? This was quite a nutter.
|
Well it looks like I won't have to, since Argith Nuei got it!
It was The Downfall/Der Untergang |
Downfall? That was pretty recent wasn't it? Either that, or it fell to the syndrome most films that our film society gets in, taking it's sweet time to migrate this far north.
|
It participated in the last oscars I think, it was nominated for best foreign film but the eventual oscar went to mar Adentro (probably because The Downfall was too controversial for some people who don't like their history accurate)
|
Seen the movie, don't recall that quote (seen it in german by the way)..
Well Argith supriss us.... |
Was there a different version than German?
|
so...how about another quote yes guys? :ok:
|
Quote:
|
is this the movie that trys to show that it was just hitler who was the really nasty one?
|
It was the movie about the last 30 days of the Third Reich, both inside and outside of the Führer's Bunker.
|
Quote:
*rushes off to grab Hollywood video movie guide* Downfall? Edit: *After reading the past couple posts* Damn!!! No fair..... just got back from tehs tore and I woulda won....oh well.... New quote? :D Aditional: oh and its 12 days, not 30. |
well actually it's an even longer time because it also shows Traudl being employed.
|
Here's a movie quote to stop the :ot: while staying close to this discussion :
" I hate nazis ! " |
wild guess... Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade?
Could be Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark |
Quote:
|
America History X ??
|
Quote:
|
I wasn't sure since I remembered the quote as "Nazis, I hate these guys!" but it could be he said "nazis, I hate nazis"
so do I get the honor of coming up with a new quote? |
Of course Stroggy. Please, be our guest ! :)
And you're probably right about the correct quote. |
here:
Quote:
|
american history X?
|
correct, your turn.
|
okie then. i decided to spare you japaneese...
Quote:
|
Could you give us a hint?
|
Before the end of the month ? :D
|
Until Omg gives you the hint, let me give you a new one:
"I'm sorry, I have to go. Somwhere there, there is a crime happening" This is not the exact quote, but as close as I could get it. |
Sylvester Stallone in Cobra ?
|
In reply to the_fifth_horseman's quote:
It's a long shot but... robocop? |
Quote:
@ Horseman - your quote sounds like it could be from a Batman film? :ok: |
hint time.
no one seemed interested... i go out for the day and suddenly evryone wants hints. anyway the hint is that it is a movie that was developed from a book that has been mentioned on these here boards. more hints will come later if no one gets it from that. |
omg - is it Blade Runner?
:max: |
no it isnt. another clue.. it was made during the 1970's
|
A Clockwork Orange gets mentioned around here often enough - is that it?
|
nope. as far as i am aware the book this movie is adapted from has only been mentioned onece by a member, but the author has been mentioned more than onece.
|
Apocalypse Now? OK, I admit, I'm just guessing. That's better than Googling, though...right?
|
yer true. okie lemme think another un googalable clue....
hmm. i hope giving away that the fact it is set after a nuculear war is ungooglable. |
A boy and his dog ? And the quote would be from the dog, whose nickname is Prof in french, so that would be Doc in english ?
|
yup its a boy and his dog. one of my faveorate movies of all time. the dog was called "blood" in the movie.
|
Yeah great movie ! One of the only movies i own. Blood ? that's weird. Anyway here's my quote it should be easy but it's roughly translated from french so it might not be 100% accurate.
If it can bleed, it can be killed. :sniper: |
thats been in loads of movies, but im guessing predetor.
|
ooh Im sure I've heard something like this before.. it involves aliens I bet.
I second omg. |
Wow ! That was fast. It is indeed Predator. You get the turn omg but you should say who said the quote in the movie (that's what the rules state in the first post).
|
probably arnie, who knows. i havnt seen that movie for years. i was expecting someone else to come in with it and steal my turn but they didnt.
time for an ultra easy one. this one is so easy i expect it to be guessed in seconds... "nuke the site from orbit, its the only way to be sure" |
Aliens, said by ripley and a minute later by Hicks.
Being in a real depressive mood i'll give you this quote : -Do you know what is the secret of life ? -No -It ends |

you have just blown my mind.
oh, wait.. I might have seen part of it.. |
The FF film werent that bad, was amazingly done though.
Since there doesnt seem to be a quote going I'm gonna throw 1 in, nice and easy "FFFRRRRREEEEEEEEEEDDDDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM M!!!!!!!!!!!" J |
Braveheart, of course.
|
And our survay says.............
DING DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER!!!! :Brain: :kosta: :Brain: J |
Here comes the next one:
"I know a little German. He's sitting right over there." |
I think it's from Top Secret (what a weird movie that was)
|
You are correct, sir.
|
Oh fiddles, now I have to find a quote again.
EDIT: alright, here's an easy one: "bad dates" |
thats an easy 1? :help: :help: :help:
|
Indiana Jones and...
Its the one where the monkey eats them and dies, right? |
Quote:
But i forgive you :Jesus: I'll give you a hint so we get rid of it ASAP It stars Sylvester Stallone. This movie sucks. |
Hey guys i relly stink at this so im just gonna give one line real kwik! :D
ready! "Pardon my french, but Cameron is so tight if you stuck a lump of coal up his @$$ in 2 weeks you'd have a diamond!" i absolutly love this movie!! :D another funny line from the same movie... "He's a righteous dude!" |
Eh people shouldn't we first guess the other quotes before we start posted new ones???
|
Quote:
Although this one is Ferris Buller's Day Off The other one was Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark |
Correct!
See, it wasn't difficult. |
Hmmmf. How to get tipped off LOL
|
Should I take a turn now, just to end this confusino of multiple quotes going on?
Edit: I'm just gonna take a turn then :D "I've just decided to switch our Friday schedule to Monday, which means that the test we take each Friday on what we learned during the week will now take place on Monday before we've learned it. But since today is Tuesday, it doesn't matter in the slightest." |
Some school related movie? :tai:
|
Quote:
|
Isn't that from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory?
(this will be so embarrassing when it turns out my answer is incorrect) |
That actually does sound pretty good, as one of the parents is a school teacher.
So what is it then Raffles? :D |
I think it was said by Turkentine (is that the correct way of spelling the name? who cares)
|
D@mn, I've seen that movie, just can't remeber it's title... :wall:
|
Well, Stroggy already got it, didn't he?

Edit : It's been three days now, so i'll assume i'm correct and give a new quote. |
Sorry for double posting but editing won't put the thread back up on the topics list, and it's a cool thread who needed some resurection.
Quote : "You"re too strong to be a thief !". |
OK, back from the long weekend break.
"What have you got there, dead cat? F*** you, a**hole." That movie is just sooo classic... That's one of the very few funny texts there, though. |
Terminator 1?
|
Troop18546 wins.
 Your turn. |
I don't know if you'll know this, maybe just Nick will answer, err... O.K.
In Russian: "Ty sto - gluchaniemoi?" "Da." In English: "What are you - deaf and dumb?" "Yes." |
Maybe a hint?? my knowledge of russian movies is, well none actually so...
|
Quote:
|
Main reason I gave this - I couldn't remmember any other quote.
The main character was played by Yuri Nikulin who was keeping some diamonds in his supposedly "broken" arm's cast. Even the the name of the movie was named "______ ruka" ("_____arm"). Even if that is too hard - carry on with giving your own quotes. |
the I suppose it's this film : Brilliantovaya ruka - whatever that means ...
If that is right, then here is my quote: "Look at the teeth. It's a killer!" (I hope that's it - it's been quite a while since I watched this movie) |
Yup. Yer right SWISS. It means "Diamond-arm".
|
Quote:

Jaws 2 actually if I'm not mistaken.....its the scene wherethey find the whale washed up on the beach.
If I 'm right and its Jaws 2 and not Jaws, give the turn to frodo. |

*Snaps his fingers*
Who Framed Roger Rabbit? |
nooooohooo ... am I the only one woh loves that film ?!?! hmmm
ok, another hint: to get rid of this killer rabbit they use a hand grenade. and when you still don't know what film i mean I will tell you what special handgranade it was ... |
Monty Pythons flying cirkus. Quest for the holy grail.
"But oh no... Its just a little bunny!" |
RRRIIIGGGHHTTT !!!
Go ahead bridge keeper ask me your questions, I am not afraid! |
I,m sorry to say that I was not prepared to give any movie quote at this moment. Actually I,m a bit busy right now writing a rewiev. :bleh:
I,ll pass my turn on to somebody (anybody) else that wants to put their movie quote. (I,m working on a very tight deadline her  ) "No its not... It,s only a fleshwound. Come on!" |
"Alright, but dogs CAN look up!"
|
Shaun of the Dead.
|
Yup. It's from something on the set of Spaced (a shot with Aida the dog in the second series).

The Godfather

That Jim Carrey animal film one! Whatever it was called.

Is anyone going to post a new quote?
|
well it was Jurassic Park, so it's actually Doc Adrian's turn.
|
Quote:
Ya its Jurrasic Park, Docs turn!! And the Jim Carey animal film was Ace Ventura Animal Detective, but that wasn't it, although the quote is probly used in a lot of movies.... |
Pet Detective, wasn't it?

sorry to keep you all waiting..theres your quote =) |
Can we get a hint please Doc? :D
|
be smart - buy at K-mart.
Army of darkness ? |
not army of darkness...
Touchstone films, and 80's |
Army of darkness quote was "shop smart, shop s-mart!"
No clue Doc....>< |
Danny Devito and Bette Midler were in this
|
It's from ruthless people, nice movie, haven't seen it in a while do..
|
Don't let this thread die, folks...
"In the name of God, impure souls of the living dead shall be banished unto eternal damnation. Amen." |
"Braindead"?
|
Nah. It's a horror, but it's not an exact quote - it's a motto that appears there a few times.
It's an anime, if you need a hint. |
I don't watch animes.
|
HELLSING? :w00t:
|
Aw, shoot... You just beat me! And I was sooo ready to contribute with a quote on my own... :-(
Well, have to wait for my turn... EDIT: Hey wait! If I only could remember who's saying it... Is it Alucard? My memory is failing... Would that mean I get the turn if I'm right? Great game ppl! |
My quote is ...it's my turn right?............:Just now, when my wife swallowed that story about the light bulb.
I think it's hard but i was going to go with luke im your father.....but thats a little to easy. Good luck :bye: |
Quote:
Could that possibly be Star Wars?  Does that mean it's my turn now? :bleh: |
Actually it's from Star Wars Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, and the quotee is of course Darth Vader...
EDIT: and watching through that great scene right now, I can even correct the quote... It's not "Luke, I'm your father"... it goes like this: Quote:
EDIT: and checking up on imdb show they've got the quote wrong! Oh it's just a minor thing, missing a "No" and have "That's not true" instead of "It's not true"... But a movie trivia freak like me gotta submit a correction!!! |
Yup, Stebbi. Correct answer. Go!
|
I think he's already posted the following quote:
Quote:
|
Well, I had no idea either... Decided to look it up, and though I've seen alot of that stuff, I can't remember that quote... Not sure if it qualifies as a movie either... So I just say that I believe it was Rene that said it. Then 'll hope I didn't spoil too much for thos trying to remember, and should still be able to guess, and if I'm wrong you should be able to tell.
However if I'm right and noone else claims the turn, I'd like to propose a new quote. I'd like to take a movie that's somewhat relevant for the site/forum... (hmm... maybe I give away to much already...) And to make it a little hard I'll take my favourite quote from that movie, that really doesn't give away much of the plot, but could be for any high-school flick... If noone guesses it I'll supply with another, more plot-revealing quote later. And I'm sorry, but I will probably be away for the next 15 hours... Quote:
|
Haven't heard more from Stebbi, so I guess we can continue with my quote...
And a followup-uote from the same movie, should maybe point you in the right direction... Quote:
|
Casablanca.... er, I mean, War Games
|
:[img]http://www.abandonia.com/forum/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />
Oh, you got that one while I was editing my last post... hehe... Correct, of course! My last quote-hint would have been "- Is it a game... or is it real? - What's the difference?" Have such good memories from seeing that film... Beeing a geek and all! Stroggy's next! |
alrightee
Quote:
|
Dang! Never have I felt more positive that I've never heard this before... Must have been either a quite obscure film, or a recent cinema movie... As I've been less and less to the cinemas the past years... Oh... Gotta go...
|
umm sorry but i didnt know the post where moved so i was trying to find it but it was correct :ok: Good job :ok:
|
I think we need a new quote to ressurrect this thread.
Who can name the film (brownie points if you can name the character). :D "My friends, you bow to no-one." |
The Lord of the Rings ?
And it's possibly Aragorn or Gandalf? |
Quote:
And yes, you are right. It's possibly Aragorn or Gandalf. :bleh: |
It's from 'Return of the King', and Aragorn says it after he is crowned, when he walks up to the hobbits and they bow for him :P
|
Quote:
It's one of my favourite scenes - good old Aragorn! :D :ok: Sorry Swiss, you were SO close. |
Believe me, I would know :P
I really don't know anything about (other) movies, but you know what? I'll just take this turn anyway. I've got one :D Quote:

I knew it was too easy :bleh:

That was Dustin Hoffman's character btw, Benjamin Braddock.
My Quote: "What is your name, oh great enchanter?" "There are those who call me... Tim." |

Keeping the thread alive.
"Is that you, Michael? You look like crap..." "So are you, pal" "At least I have an excuse. You've obviously gone down the toilet since we've split up. Get a life." |
Quote:
|
Reamus, yours is from Waiting for Guffman
Horseman, is yours from that film where that guy dies but then reappears to his friend, just slightly more decayed each time? (I can't remember the name) |
Nope. Michael is a human, the other speaker is an AI of sorts. The movie was based on a TV series.
|
I think we need a new quote, so here goes. Who knows what film this is from?
'You're very lucky to be invited up to Frank's laboratary.' :ok: |
I guess some Frankenstein parody.
BTW, my quote was from Knight Rider 2000. |
Quote:
Did David Hasselhoff play Michael Knight ? If it is so, i just must watch that movie. It must be SOOOO cheesy ! :max: As to Frodo's quote, maybe The Rocky horror picture show ? |
Quote:
Well done Lonely. (sings) Let's do the time warp again. |

Ok ! Opening sequence of one of the coolest movies ever :
As far back as i can remember, i always wanted to be a gangster. :pimp: |
The Godfather?
|
Nope. But it's one of those mob movies though.
|
Oh yeah! Goodfellas. :) A great movie. Not to be compared with The Godfather, of course, but still fantastic.
EDIT: Don't think many movies have that in the beginning, so I suppose I can continue the game as Lonely Vazdru doesn't seem to be here. So here goes, my quote: "I watched a snail... crawl along the edge... of a straight razor... That's my dream... That's my nightmare... Crawling, slithering... along the edge of a straight... razor... And surviving." |
@ Aristharus
Let's wait for Lonely to confirm you are right, before starting a new quote. :D |
I still doubt there to be another mob movie that almost starts with that quote. :)
But it's ok, let's wait. You can try to remember my quote meanwhile.. before Lonely confirms that I am right. :bleh: If you want, I can tell more. The guy that says that is Henry Hill, played by Ray Liotta. It's narrated, just after the gangsters (Henry, Jimmy and Tommy, I think) kill the guy in the trunk. After they realize he's still alive... I think. Sorry, I'm just bored, so I'll just write something here. :D |
Yes you're right. Sorry for being late.
Thanks for the fair-play Frodo, you should be a paladin, not a hobbit. :Titan: And i have no idea whatsoever about Aristharus weird snail quote. |
No problem, I'm just impatient. And I was bored, as I said. :)
But.. I'll repeat the quote: "I watched a snail... crawl along the edge... of a straight razor... That's my dream... That's my nightmare... Crawling, slithering... along the edge of a straight... razor... And surviving." Which movie? I think it might be a pretty hard one. Many have probably seen the movie, but that quote isn't probably so hard to remember from there. I you don't remember it, I'm ready with more quotes from the same movie. EDIT: Added lots of periods to the quote. :) That represents the line in the movie a bit better now. |
It doesn't ring any bell in my memory, but let's wait for other guesses before you add another quote.
|
I intentionally chose a quote that doesn't stick to your memory so easily. Or at least I think it won't. :) The next ones will be easier. If they're needed.
An oh yeah, I edited the quote just a bit. |
It isn't THAT hard! Or maybe it is, then.
Can't think of hints that wouldn't be too easy. That line in the film is on a recording that is played pretty early in the movie. It's followed with another recording with this line on it (said by the very same voice as the last one): "We must kill them. We must incinerate them. Pig after pig. Cow after cow. Village after village. Army after army. And they call me an assassin. What do you call assassins that accuse assassins?" and so on.. This will probably be an easier one. The same man dies in the end of the movie, his last words being: "The horror... The horror." |
Apocalypse Now! A great movie! :ok:
|
Damn, it was too easy then. :) Was it the "The horror" or did you remember the recording of Kurtz in the beginning?
But yes, it's Apocalypse Now! And a great movie too. :) So it's your turn. |
Well, I read Heart of Darkness which is what the movie is based on. My class focused a lot on "the horror...the horror" because it's so famous and what it means and all that. There's actually a really REALLY long version of Apocalypse now, and I've seen the shorter one, that cuts out a lot of the "unnecessary" stuff, so maybe I missed your other quote.
Anyway... If his premature demise has in some way enlightened the rest of you as to the grim finish below the glossy veneer of criminal life, and inspired you to change your ways, then his death carries with it an inherent nobility. And a supreme glory. We should all be so fortunate. You can say "Poor Toby." I say: "Poor us." |
I know it's based on Heart of Darkness, I haven't read it yet, but I have planned to read it for a long time. The other quote is in the original Apocalypse Now, too. Not only in the Redux, if you meant that with the long one. It's in the beginning, when Willard is given the assignment.
I knew I shouldn't have posted the "The horror" yet. I had readied a couple of harder quotes to post first, I don't know why I put that one there already. :) Damn! Your quote is too familiar! I just can't recall where it's from... Btw, the Redux sucks compared to the original Apocalypse Now. Everything cut out from the original is cut out for a good reason. |
Yeah, I tried watching it. Not only is it 3.5 hours long (or around there) it's totally boring with sprinkles of good parts (that are all in the original :bleh: )
|
Sorry about going :ot: , but I just have to say this. Just this one.
Not only is it boring, the cut parts make the good parts worse. Most don't fit in the characters at all. Willard isn't very playful or anything in the movie. He just wants to get the job done and so on. Yet still in the Redux he decides to play a practical joke on Kilgore and steal his surfboard after the famous "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" scene. Now why in the hell would he do that? Almost every one of the cut scenes just don't fit in. Just like that one. |
OK, 24 hours time-out.
This quote is simple. It's in many, many movies, but in the one I have in mind it's a particular scene on the beginning. One that gives an evil grin  to anyone who recalls it, in fact. "Who are you?" |
It gave me something more like this  so I probably don't know.
|
I can't post the reply to that question, since it would be a flat out solution, sorry.
It was based on a comic book, if it helps. |
One of the Batman films?
|
And which one of them might that be?
|
Batman
Batman Returns Batman 2 The Legend Of Batman  |
I dunno about the "Who are you" quote, but Allyfaucet's was from Gone in 60 seconds
|
Frodo, it was the very, very first Batman movie. The one with Joker.
"Who are you?" "...Batman..." Your turn. |
Quote:
"Who are you?" <cray insane grin from Michael Keaton> "I'm Batman" |
Here is my film quote. I'll give more if they are needed. :D
'Your job is to tell the rest of them death is coming for them tonight.' :max: |
The Crow
|
Quote:
My next quote would have been 'Tell them Eric Draven sends his regards.' Your turn. :ok: |
Sorry for the double post
I guess Rinforzando doesn't want to make a film quote, so here'e another one. 'I don't see your ship .... Captain' :ok: |
Galaxy Quest?
|
Pirates of the Caribbean?
|
Quote:
It was too easy. :D |
I shouldn't have taken the guess... I'm not someone with a large library of movie quotes.
The result? A very easy partial quote. :P Quote:
|
Definitely Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail.
|
Definitely :D
Oh, how I love that one LOL Go ahead Fruit Pie Jones! |
Here you go. This one might be a giveaway, but I love this film:
"You ate sand?" |
C'mon, it's been four days! Give us another clue!
|
Since it's been a week, and I didn't post a quote when I guessed correctly before, I'll post one now.
"We're on the express elevator to hell!... Going down!!!" |
Aliens, when they go down on the planet LV-426, must be said by Hudson.
|
Man, that was too obvious!
Your turn |
Ok ! This is roughly translated from french (i'm the first to be sorry that i don't have this movie in it's original language, namely english) :
They conquer whole worlds and we retreat. They assimilate whole systems and we retreat. This stops here ! They won't go one step further ! Now it's time to make them pay ! |
French... Sci-fi... hmm...
The only the I can think of that fits that description is the fifth element. But I'm probably not right. |
No it's not french. What i meant was the copy of it i own is dubbed in french. But it's an american movie. Part of a very famous series.
|
If you don't mind me making two guesses...
...is it the Star Trek series of movies you're talking about? Or maybe Battlestar Galactica? |
Hmm...sound like Star Trek or something like Star Gate? (nah couldn't be)
|
It is a Star Trek movie. But which one ?
|
Star Trek 8 - First Contact ?
|
Yes ! It is ! The swiss spider wins ! :Brain:
|
How bad timing was i!!! nah you can have it swiss, is your go after all.
EDIT: removed quote J |
Quote:
But I give my turn to Jimbo ... (do I have another chance ?) |
Either one of you, whoever wants to post next, please do so soon :ok:
|
ok i'll add mine again
"Save your money, Tucker. This place doesn't have porn. You know, that really grinds my gears. Where in the bible does it say that a man can't fire off some knuckle-children in the privacy of his own neighbor's living room while his neighbor's at work because I don't have a DVD player? Well, I don't know where it says it because the Bible was way too long to read!" might not be back for about 12 hours to check up on ya all J |
...a longshot: "From Dusk Till Dawn"?
|
i know that!
that it's said by petter griffin, on "stewie griffin: the untold story" (aka stewie griffin: world domination) :D edit: here is my quote: "character a: I didn't know you could fly a plane. character b: Fly, yes. Land, no" (very easy one :D ) |
indiana jones and the last crusade. LOL i havnt seen those movies for aggges
heres one from a little gem of a movie "Are you telling me that there is something running loose around this city, killing people and eating their hearts to send them to hell" |
Constantine? Nah.....Oh i know! HellBoy!
|
Splitsecond
|
cant find an online trailer for it. its one of those movies that despite being cheasy but cool is actually really rare and worth up 2 50 bucks in amazon..............
well annoyed. |

:max: |
Split Second (Boy did that take a long time to get!)
Now try this one: "I'm Winston Wolf. I solve problems." |
Pulp Fiction.
|
Quote:
|
Oh yeah, I musta missed that, and was confused by frodo's post. Sorry.
|

|
Quote:
And he still hasn't confirmed. :max: |
Ah, now I'm slightly less confused. But since it's been a pretty long time, can't we carry on anyway?
|
The latter's Pulp Fiction anyway, isn't it?
|
Yup, got it in one.
|
To continue the game...
"Both blocks are under arrest!" The quote might seem hard, but it sort of contains a hint in itself already. |
Quote:
btw : this movie so sucks ! :not_ok: |
Yup, it's Dredd. Your turn.
|
Ok, one of those one-liners that Hollywood seems so keen on these days :
"Two seconds in hell is a lifetime." |

Ooookay... this aint exact, cause I watched the movie a few years back, but should do. The quote is said in the last scene of the movie.
"There is no more Peyton." Quote:

Well, according to my Windows clock it's: Thursday, October 6th 2005. 1:44PM. Strange.

You Americans! You're 6 hours behind the UK. :D |
You UKans. You're 9 hours behind Australia. :P
So what you're saying is my Windows clock is wrong? |
Quote:
We still need to guess Horseman's quote - "There is no more Peyton." I don't have a clue. |
Ok, a hint... "There is no more Peyton. I am Darkman."
|
That was a hint indeed ! Darkman ? :D
|
Liam Neeson plays Peyton Westlake aka Darkman in the 1990 movie... Darkman!
|
Wheres the next quote?
|
I was waiting for the Fifth Horseman to confirm my answer.
Here's a quote if i'm correct (as i strongly think i am) : I only have one rule : Everyone fights, no one quits. If you don't do your job i'll kill you myself ! |
I've seen this film in the past few weeks, argggggg i can't think!
God dame testing has turned my brain to mush :ranting: Ahhhhh Starship Troopers :D |
Fight Club

Quote:
|
Here it goes, I'm almost sure this is the quote word for word!
"...and X never, ever marks the spot" Shouldn't be too hard |
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
|
yep, the main stage is yours :D
|
"I kill a communist for fun. For a green card, I carve him up real good!"
(No offense Seb) :D |
Scarface
|
Quote:
|
Heres one,
"Study High, Take the test high, Get High Scores" No one even gonna try and guess this one. |
Vazdru's reply was indeed correct. I knew someomne would remember that one. :D
|
Since nobody tried Vinny's quote...
"Where's my random access? And my graphics board? I can't even play around PacMan in here..." |
I'm all sadened by the lack response. Did anyone even try and think about the film
|
I did, Vinny, and had no clue :P even a google search yielded nothing more than a potsmokers' forum...
|
Quote:
|
No, not TRON. There was a quote from same movie a while back... BTW, I don't recall exactly if the second sentence begins with AND or OR.
And it's a computer speaking about itself. |
It was Knight Rider 2000.
Replacement quote: "-There's a maniac out there in the city! -What a coincidence! There's one out here too!" |
Nah can't get it...
|
i'm gonna say judge dredd
from judge dread |
Dead on. Your turn.
|

sorry for late reply by the way ok erm "dave, kill the queen" |
Quote:
|
Shaun Of The Dead!
|
correct :ok: a great moment
i love that film anyhoo your turn |
Alright, since it's been way longer that 24 hours, can I take the turn?? :tomato:
Okay, I wonder if someone here has actually ever SEEN the (whole) movie, but it's reckoned as a classic quote anyway... "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" |
"Gone with the wind"
|
My goodness! You knew?? How did you know? :bleh:
Yes, it was, well, it's your turn then!! :ok: |
Gaah I don't know any movie quote's I pass my turn...
|
Haha, don't you know any quotes from the Simpsons then? (is "Didily doo stranger" not a quote? I don't know, so...)
|
Simpsons is a series not a movie ;)
|
Darn... that's true.... :D
|
Well since you passed your turn...
"Come on, you apes! Do you wanna live forever?" My favourite movie of all times :D |
Quote:
And that couldn't be anyone's favourite movie of all time.. EDIT: And yes, I do realize that it probably doesn't literally mean apes. But I still doubt it being Conan The Barbarian (or Conan The Destroyer, I can't remember which is which. Equally bad movies, though) Another EDIT: Why am I an Abandonia Nerd now?! I liked Forum Hobbit much more. Sure, I am a nerd, but do you have to tell it to everyone?! |
LOL
I don't know, first thing that comes to mind with apes is of course 'Planet of the apes', but I don't think that's the movie you're quoting from.... |
No there are no apes in the quoted movie :P
|
I'm sorry if this isn't clear to anyone who doesn't speak English, but I think this is the name of the movie you're talking about:
http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/8072/st4dy.jpg I think I've got the right story (I'm pretty sure I do). The story is also one of my all-time favourite movies and probably my favourite book. As far as I know, the quote is said by a drill sergeant or commanding officer to the rookie marines. In the book, the quote is from a specific military commander, though I can't remember who. |
Of course! Starship Checkpurse! I love that film!
|
LMAO!
Joke aside, Jones got it right :) Starship Troopers |
Starboat Tickbag? Isn't he one of Spongebob's friends?
|
Wow ! "At night, the vessel speeds to prevent the green armed cube from stealing your grandma's purse", one of my all times' favorite. :Brain:
|
That is in the top 10 most random sentences I have ever heard :O
|
I like Starboat Tickbag more than my guess, but I'll take the turn. I'll even post the same quote I posted last time:
"You ate sand?!" |
Since the thread seems dead, I guess no-one knows who ate sand, why they did it, and why they'll do it again. More importantly, they don't know what film it's from.
So for the sake of continiuity, I used the IMDb to search for film quotes (cheating, I know). Is it 'raising arizona', whatever the hell that is? |
Harry Potter 4 is going to appear yey :Brain:
|
Quote:
|
Try this quote for size...
"They melvined me" |
Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey.
|
Excellent! LOL
Your turn. |
Was that the second one?
|
Yes.
|
@ Luchsen, I believe it is your turn :P
|
I know but I had to make a big deal with my toilet bowl...
:"You don't know the real me." :"There isn't a real you." :"Oh yeah, I forgot. " |
haha
we totally just melvined death dude |
Heh, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey - watched that last night, as it happens. I don't think anyone got the previous one, though.
|
And concidering the fact that the quote before the last one no-one got was also from the same movie, and had the same "melvined" word in it (which was probably the whole point of the quotes), that was a pretty strange effort anyway..
|
Yeah, but I'd forgotten that on account of the big delay :)
