in the cinema and in dvd/vhs at home?

The cinema record for me 6 times. The movie Fortress, all in one week. I love that film! The other three are, Terminator 3 (4 times), Dracula (the one that everybody apparently loves that was expensive, well known and had some well known actors. I hated that movie but watched it 3 times because I kept falling asleep), Pitch Black The Chronicles of Riddick 3 times. There might be more but I can't remember right now.

On dvd/VHS there are far more of course, but the top 8 for me are:
Ghostbusters (about 130 times, kid you not),
Das Boot (12+),
Star Wars trilogy (12+),
Star Trek VI (12+),
Fifth Element (~20),
Bladerunner (12+),
Dune (12+)
The fall of the roman empire (12+),
Lawrence of Arabia (12+ but each with about a year apart at least, too much of a movie LOL)

Blood-Pigggy 10-08-2005 03:40 PM

1. I've watched the entire Alien series uncountable times.
2. Ditto with Terminator series.
3. Edward Scisscorhands +20

Hehehe... I remember the one where the cat becomes Kat.

Go older and better star wars.
I have all the old cheesy godzilla movies :bleh:

Scarface 11-08-2005 12:24 AM

These are the movies I've watched the most:

- Scarface (obviously! :D )
- Star Wars
- Taxi Driver
- The Godfather
- Dead man walking
- Saving Private Ryan

Eagle of Fire 11-08-2005 01:17 AM

Transformers - The Movie. Partially due to having it on my hard drive, but anyways...

Lonely Vazdru 11-08-2005 01:58 AM

I've watched countless times (meaning more than 20 times) Conan, Alien 1&2, Star Wars (original trilogy), Legend, The princess bride. And i'm working on including Rock Star in that list, for the cool memories it awakes (long hair, mascara, lipstick, leather, easy girls, cheap booze, cool licks, those were the days).

Coganthegreat 13-08-2005 12:18 AM

I have seen Forest Gump over 60 times

Chuck the plant 13-08-2005 12:30 AM

Too many too often

The more "important"and influential ones (don't expect me to count):

- Snatch
- Scarface (got the SE DVD for my birthday this year... hooray for cool girlfriends :ok: )
- Dawn of the Dead/Day of the Dead (go, omg :ok: )
- Conan the Barbarian (and ONLY that one... "the Destroyer", what a crap)
- Starship Troopers
- ALL Star Wars movies (even the bad ones are better than most other movies)
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre (both versions)
- Naked Gun-series (and most other ZAZ-stuff)
- Blues Brothers
- Ghostbusters
- almost any Schwarzenegger-movie (Commando, Running Man, Predator... what classic violent entertainment :D
- Rocky I, III and IV
- First Blood I & II
- Smokey and the Bandit

I actually watched EVERY movie in my DVD-collection several times (because I don't buy movies I WOULDN'T watch several times... that's what Video-rental is for), and it's a rather HUGE collection... as I said, way too many, way too often, so it's no real use trying to list them all... and it keeps getting more ("Sin City" is coming on DVD on tuesday... add that to the 2 times I saw it in cinema since yesterday)

To be continued

Xikarita 13-08-2005 11:00 AM

The old Star Wars movies. When I was younger, I even had a bunch of lines memorized.....but my memory isn't what it used to be :D

:kosta: :kosta: :kosta:
Not even I watched it so often (although it would probably be around 100 times).

I guess my most watched movie would be Groundhog Day. I actually got my mother adicted to this movie, so she watched it almost daily for at least half a year (I watch it with her + I've seen it many times before - so around 150 times).

Ah, yes, that one's great. "I'm a god, not the God.":D

PrejudiceSucks 13-08-2005 03:53 PM

I used to watch the stupid Space Jam film practically religiously 3 plus times a week. For 2 years.

blastradius14 13-08-2005 03:56 PM

Yeah, I do remember groundhog day. That would suck, to have to live the same day over and over again...

Lonely Vazdru 13-08-2005 04:08 PM

Depends on the day. I'll give much to be trapped in some of those i've lived.

blastradius14 13-08-2005 04:13 PM

Even the best days would eventually become painful. Seriously.

Lonely Vazdru 13-08-2005 04:15 PM

I can take a lot of pain. But i guess you're right. Eternity is a bit long.

Spoonman 14-08-2005 01:49 PM

The trouble with Groundhog Day is that if you've seen it once it already feels like you've seen it a dozen times, so I don't think I can say how many times I've seen it :) At least once a year though.

Jesus Christ Superstar is another traditional movie to watch around easter time, I still like it very much :)

But these are the movies one just can't see often enough:

- Conan the Barbarian
- Conan the Destroyer
- Red Sonja
- Various other Schwarzenegger movies which are unintentionally quite funny to watch :)

- The James Bond episodes with Sean Connery

- Alien 1-3
- Star Wars 4-6

- Halloween (simply the best (although not even the scariest) horror movie ever imho)

- The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
- About every other western starring Clint Eastwood

As for the more cryptic\arty ones:

- Lost Highway
- Mulholland Drive
- 'Lola Rennt

Office_Monk 14-08-2005 04:59 PM

Commando: 16 times on VHS (between age 13 and 15)

blastradius14 14-08-2005 05:05 PM

A few star trek movies. When you know what data and picard are gonna say then you watched them too many times

cheesegrater 19-08-2005 06:16 AM

I watched the original Hellraiser at least 10 times.

Iron_Scarecrow 19-08-2005 01:27 PM

Any DVD we own I've seen at least 15 times each. So that would be:

Harry Potter: Prizoner of Azkaban. Can't believe I watch this movie so often, I hate myself everytime I watch it.
All Lord of the Rings
Star Wars eps. 2,4,5,6
Apocalypse Now
Indiana Jones series.
Robin Hood Prince of Thieves

And I've watched through the Tintin cartoon series about 3 or 4 times. The only thing that these cartoons are missing is Snowy's monologues.

I've watched Toy Story and Shrek about 50 times between the two. These are on VHS.
