I went into school today to collect my GCSE results. I got five As and five Bs, which I'm fairly chuffed with, it'll get me into the sixth form I want by quite a good margin and my parents and other relatives are happy. I also got a B in german (I was predicted a D <_< ) and an A in Georgraphy (I just scraped a C on my coursework AND I got the content of the two exams mixed up). Me and my friend went to Burger King en-masse to celebrate.

Congratulations !

A "B" in German equips you with the power to read this :

Hat der alte Hexenmeister
Sich doch einmal wegbegeben!
Und nun sollen seine Geister
Auch nach meinem Willen leben!
Seine Wort’ und Werke
Merkt’ ich und den Brauch,
Und mit Geistesstärke
Tu’ ich Wunder auch.

Walle! walle manche Strecke,
Daß zum Zwecke
Wasser fließe,
Und mit reichem, vollem Schwalle
Zu dem Bade sich ergieße!

Und nun komm, du alter Besen!
Nimm die schlechten Lumpenhüllen!
Bist schon lange Knecht gewesen;
Nun erfülle meinen Willen!
auf zwei Beinen stehe,
Oben sei ein Kopf,
eile nun und gehe
Mit dem Wassertopf!

6th form is like college only not. Smaller campus tighter leash by the staff Generaly easier to work.

Um, could someone lightem me up a bit? What's a GCSE? I understand it's somekind of a exam, but... What?

Its the final exam that you must take in England (maybe Britain as a whole? I dun care really) in your 11th year of school. The results range from 'F' to 'A'. A 'C' or better is counted as a 'pass'. You spend your 10th year studying your chosen subjects as well as the primary subjects.

Does two people count as "en masse"? Or did you mean 'friends' there?

Nicely done, bud - it's always nice to do better than your teachers expected you to :D

@Danny: You can get an A* too, being better than an A, unless thwy've changed it since I did mine without telling me. Year 11 is when you're 16, in case anyone's confused there.

Danny252 25-08-2005 09:54 PM

oh yes, the A* :P cannae forget them..
and I'd guess he meant with other people..
but burger king? at least something good, like pizza hut..

Yes, I meant "friends" there were quite a few of us.

I did suggest Pizza Hut but that's about half an hour's walk away from school while Burger King is only about 2 minutes away. Anyway, nobody was in the mood for a big lunch and it was raining.

well congrats on you all doing well but its been a nightmare for people like me who work in a pub. the amount of people i have had to ID tonight you would not believe. i dont like doing it, but im not gonna risk losing my job and being fined 5000 pound just because people who are underage think they can come and drink alcohol anywhere!!

@ All

Danny is wrong. It actually goes from U- (unmarkably bad) to A*, it's quite possible to get less than an F.

But only if you're stupid...

Oif you don't turn up for the exam, or if you cheat, or if your writting is unreadable. All of these things will earn you a "U".

Iron_Scarecrow 26-08-2005 11:31 AM

Interesting. I just had my trial exams and although the teachers are meant to have them marked as soon as we get back from our trials I've only got 2, and I've been back a week.

Anyway 13% in Chem and 45% in Modern History. And I got a D in one section of my english paper.

I should have left school 2 years ago but who cares anymore.

PrejudiceSucks 26-08-2005 05:21 PM

U is if you don't turn up. U- = 0 marks, possibly -2/3 due to your handwriting crapulence.

U = yoU fool!
