We've got "Name That Hero," "Name That Game," "Name the Car Make" and the "Movie Quotes" thread, so why not one about music? Simple rules here: Someone posts a line or lines from a song (as much or as little as you'd like, but be reasonable), and then everyone else has to figure out the title of the song and the band/artist. You can add whatever else you'd like, such as the name of the album from which the song comes, a list of the substances you ingested when you last saw that band in concert, or a random memory like, "We played this at my hamster's funeral - it was righteous, dude." The only thing you must do, after guessing correctly, is post the next lyric. And no fair posting lyrics from the song you wrote for that girl you had the crush on in sixth grade, unless of course a classmate of yours discovered the crumpled-up lyrics in the trash can and turned your pre-teen torch song into a major hit.

I'll start us off with an easy one:

I'm only hanging on to watch you go down

Blood-Pigggy 16-11-2005 12:13 AM

Achtung Baby
U2 - So Cruel?
It does have it in there!

Fruit Pie Jones 16-11-2005 02:51 PM

That's the one. Your turn.

Blood-Pigggy 16-11-2005 07:31 PM

The cadillac doin’ ’bout ninety-five,
She’s bumper to bumber rollin’ side by side

That's Chuck Berry! :w00t: Erm... Maybelline??

Blood-Pigggy 16-11-2005 07:36 PM

Yes mam.
Here's a cookie.

A. J. Raffles 16-11-2005 07:47 PM

Hmmm... OK, here's an easy one:
Last time I saw my Jenny, she was locked in a cell.
She wasn't really glad to see me, that I could tell.
In fact, to tell the truth, she wasn't looking too well...

Sebatianos 16-11-2005 08:42 PM

That's Poor Jenny (Everly Brothers if I remember correctly).

A. J. Raffles 16-11-2005 09:08 PM

Yep.:)

Sebatianos 16-11-2005 09:26 PM

OK, here the next tune:

Quote:

Klagt ein Vogel ach auch mein Gefieder
Näßt der Regen flieg ich durch die Welt

Petter1979 16-11-2005 10:09 PM

^^ Scooter - Am Fenster?

one of my favorite music number, even though i dont understand dutch.

"durch die welt" was the thing that i remember in the lyrics.

Dutch? It's German, actually. And the bit Sebatianos quoted basically means something like "A bird is lamenting 'Alas, my plumage also gets wet in the rain as I fly through the world' " - not that knowing German actually helps you to make sense of it, mind you.

moogle 17-11-2005 12:48 AM

Could we stick to enlgish music please? :) Heh...

JimmyJ 17-11-2005 01:48 AM

yeah, other stuff is too confusing...

Heres one

"gonna rush the back door and break em' in"

moogle 17-11-2005 02:08 AM

Wait until its ur turn buddy :)
If I'm not mistaken its Petter's turn?

JimmyJ 17-11-2005 02:10 AM

oops LOL, but thats 2 words, and I don't recognise them, its gonna maybe take some time ;)

A. J. Raffles 18-11-2005 04:30 AM

OK, just to revive the thread, here's an easy one:
He's got a frozen face, just like an eskimo-pie.

Fruit Pie Jones 30-11-2005 12:41 AM

To revive the thread again, I'll answer it: "Ice Cream," by Johnson, Moll, and King (whoever they are). I owe that one to Google, but I figured that was fair, since nobody else was going to answer it. You know, I never knew that was an actual song, or that there were lyrics besides "I scream, you scream," etc.

You're right, of course.:ok: Actually it's the lyrics that make the song funny, really.

I'm a bit surprised nobody recognised it, though. I thought it would be better known than that Jimmy Durante song which mentions "eskimo belts up in Iceland"...

Anyway: your turn, FPJ.

Fruit Pie Jones 30-11-2005 07:07 PM

All right, then.

Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part
That wonders what the part that isn't thinking isn't thinking of

EDIT: Typo.

Sorr I haven't replied for so long... It's Am Fenster (but I was thinking of the original one, by City - Scooter version isn't all that good).

Anyway FPJ, that's got to be: Where Your Eyes Don't Go!

But of course! The rules state that you've got to provide the name of the band too...

Sebatianos 30-11-2005 08:55 PM

They Might Be Giants

Well, guess this one then...

I wish I was a hunter in search of different food
I wish I was the animal which fits into that mood

Gelfo 02-12-2005 01:48 PM

I like this game, but I don't know any of the answers LOL. It's too easy to look on google

I agree, but I like to let a few days pass before I resort to that.
