May you be able to keep your fake smile for more than 2 days this year!

And I hope it helps you forget about all the wars, bloodbaths and unfairness committed this year in the name of our holy father, the saviour jesus christ.

Merry Christmas. Hope it won't be your (our) last.

Grinder 19-12-2005 06:16 PM

Thank You!
I don't think any of the other users would have done this!

Yobor 19-12-2005 07:18 PM

HAHAHAHAHAHA LOL LOL LOL LOL ROFL ROFL :roflol: :roflol: :roflol:

Thats amazing Lethe. Try to pass that off as part of your sig? I agree though.

I'm not religous, but that's just offensive, I hope you refrain from creating such remarks.

At least we aren't celebrating a satanist holiday.

Tulac 19-12-2005 10:03 PM

Isn't it a little too early for Christmas?

Blood-Pigggy 19-12-2005 10:07 PM

I don't think anyone will really be on these forums Christmas day.
Of course that's just my assumption.

Tulac 19-12-2005 10:24 PM

Where would I be on Christmas but home?

Blood-Pigggy 19-12-2005 10:44 PM

I still don't think people will be spending all their time on the computer on Christmas.

Hey, isn't it funny how some people say "God doesn't exist! Jesus doesn't exist" and yet, they celebrate Christmas with such vigor.

Name One. If you want to be offensiv at least make sense because your sig + your post are the stupidest remarks i've ever seen/heard.

Anyway, merry early christmas to some and happy holidays to others,

Blood-Pigggy 20-12-2005 12:02 AM

Yes, yes.
He has made a rather uncouth post, but let's leave it at rest before this turns into another one of those off-topic religion spam fests.

punch999 20-12-2005 12:07 AM

I don't believe in god but I do believe in jesus because of such proof of him. I do not believe jesus was special.

And I do celebrate christmas because it is a time for family whether you are religious or not.

Blood-Pigggy 20-12-2005 01:45 AM

That's fine, many people celebrate it for many reasons, but it's kinda stupid to celebrate it because of materialism.

efthimios 20-12-2005 02:15 AM

I agree those comments were not appropriate in this thread. Even if you are not christian and even if you hate all that is xmas then you shouldn't burst into a thread by people who want to wish something (as they see it) good to others and say things like you said.

I am not christian and I have many things against it but even I do not start say, calling them #$#@$ for wishing me something good.

Happy Christmas to all.

Iron_Scarecrow 20-12-2005 03:25 AM

I don't really follow a religion but I feel there has to be some Divine being, whether it's the God described by any religion is not really important to me.

Christmas is always pretty small with us, well it has been since I turned 15, just one present from each family member and a small amount of money. Then a roast lunch.

EDIT How could I forget. I wish you all a happy Christmas. :ok:

wendymaree 20-12-2005 04:15 AM

I'm a full-on Christian and have known the greatest happiness since becoming one. It's great to believe in and have experienced something so beautiful and loving that can't be found in this mundane world.

:xmas: Christmas greetings and happy holidays everyone :xmas:

allyfaucet 20-12-2005 05:16 AM

All religious language and frustrations aside, I hope everyone has a reason to celebrate and be happy. Merry Christmas, Abandonia! :Brain:

Abi79 20-12-2005 07:27 AM

Because I don't think you'll all be on the forums when the actual Christmas will come, Merry Christmas boys and girls !

Now I need to design a new sig for me. Everybody has one, while I have a large list of quotes LOL

If you show love to others you'll receive it back, too ;)

Happy Christmas to everybody!

Abi79 20-12-2005 10:23 AM

Wise said :)

:ot: I just realised I made a sig for me in which it writes "Merry Chirstmas". Time to start Photoshop again :(

TheChosen 20-12-2005 10:35 AM

We wish a merry chrismas!
And a happy new year!
Lets hope its a god one!
Without any fear!

So this is chrismas....

War is over......

Merry Chrismas everyone! And a happy new year!
:xmas:

Yobor 20-12-2005 07:12 PM

Hey some of you just because he has a particular view and feels bitter about things, no need to flame him.

And whats wrong with a Satanic holiday?

By the way, happy Christmas.

Doubler 20-12-2005 07:23 PM

Merry christmas and a happy new year, everyone! :xmas:

Hey, isn't it funny how some people say "God doesn't exist! Jesus doesn't exist" and yet, they celebrate Christmas with such vigor.
Well, I'm just gonna answer for myself.

I'm not christian, but I come from a protestant family. They celebrate Christmas, and I have always done so. But there's one thing that is worth noticing.
Yule and Christmas is not the same thing. In my country, and in some others as well, "Christmas" really means "Yule". The Icelandic word for the celebration is Jol [I'm using a non-icelandic keyboard, the "o" is a bit different].
The word Yule is much much older than Christmas. It was/is the celebration of the day getting longer again. So yeah, I celebrate Jol, Yule, but not so much Christmas. Although the people I spend the season with do it. Bah hope this makes sense.

So... For me: Yule = Yes, Christmas = No.

And anyways, what's wrong with celebrating Christmas? Seriously, if everybody around you do so, why not join the fun? those are jolly and bright times, why not enjoy it?
I know of both Muslims and Jews who celebrate christmas, just because everybody they know do so. I much rather look at it as time of joy, being nice and a welcomed vacation.

Well as people said before, he shouldn't be saying those sorts of things in here, if someone made a topic discussing it, it would've been fine, but this thread is for well wishing, and that seemed far from it.

And I'm not going to even answer the second question if you can't figure that out yourself.

Merry Christmas!
I will eat ham for you all.

wendymaree 20-12-2005 08:05 PM

This is a thread about a Christian holiday and I was expressing my views on Christianity and how it has positively affected me. Some negative things have been said in this thread against Christianity - which at this time I think is more objectionable than some postive words about happiness and love I've discovered. 'Mundane world' in this context means 'ordinary', 'every day' or 'normal world' as opposed to a supernatural or spiritual one.

Religious tolerance and respect for others should be the keywords here.

Havell 20-12-2005 08:26 PM

Christmas may be rooted in Christianity but it has spread beyond that to become not just a religious observance but celebrated by people of many religions (which may or may not include Satanists). No-one in my family is a Christian but we still have a 10 foot tree in the hall and cards all over the house. Christmas is a great time of year, because of the cards, the presents and the parties (I went to my sixth form party last night, I got drunk and danced for a couple of hours, it was fun).

EDIT: Damn, I followed a trend and forgot:

 Merry Crimbo everyone!

Yobor 20-12-2005 08:41 PM

Christmas started out as Saturnalia (Well, to my knowledge, but maybe it was older than that) in Roman times. When people converted to Christianity, who wants to stop partying? I sure don't. So thye kept their holidays and gave them new meanings.
Whee for X-Mas

Blood-Pigggy 20-12-2005 08:41 PM

Crimbo reminds me of crumb cakes.

Anyone else like Egg Nog?

Tulac 20-12-2005 08:42 PM

Christian or not, how could one not enjoy holidays? :D

Scorpius 20-12-2005 09:25 PM

Well, not for all the Christmas and the new year are a happy time...

Pharaoh 20-12-2005 09:47 PM

Happy Christmas...

Well, look to stars and desire...

all the things that you want in your future.. believe and its will happen..!! :ok:

Okay... Christianity aside, I still hate how jolly can people become in Christmas. It looks like they've been saving it all from the rest of the year so they could bother to smile in Christmas. They all go "Hello how do you do?/I'm great. How are you?/Great. Merry Christmas". Why can't you do that in any another day as well? Just replace the last sentence by "have a nice day" and there you'd go. But no, humans are way too arrogant and selfish for that. And the Christmas mask would become boring if it was used every other day.

The first memory of past Christmas that comes to my mind is seeing my mom crying. It was the first Christmas I didn't celebrate, and never again since that year. She died one month later.

But heck... I don't want to destroy anyone's happiness topic, so have a Merry Christmas/Yule/Saturnalia, and a successful new year. While we're at it, have a great Easter day (This is not sarcasm, I do wish you the best for how long as you can have it).

efthimios 21-12-2005 01:07 AM

lether, the thing is, this is a thread to wish merry christmas to people these days. It is not a thread with the title "Christianity and Christmas, the real evil?" or anything else. I don't mind at all of your views on christianity and christmas, but please start another thread and do not hijack this one.

wendymaree 21-12-2005 07:08 AM

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum, Lethe. I can understand your feelings about this time of year. Many people have a hard time during Christmas and with good reason. (Just for the record, though, I love Christmas magic!) Let's all unite as a community and enjoy the season together. :band:

Only four more sleeps until :xmas:

Iron_Scarecrow 21-12-2005 07:43 AM

Who said I'll be sleeping. :D

swiss 21-12-2005 11:34 AM

Yepppy Happy Christmas to all of YOU !

And whatever good for all of you who do not like Christmas!

Just enjoy yourself where and whoever you are - be nice, be kind, be a family guy or gal !

This time of year RULEZ !

(and why not throwing all troubles away for ONE weekend? I didn't need to spare all my happyness the whole year. I just try extra hard to be a nice fellow these days. Thre cannot be anything wrong with it. - oh BTW I always try to be a nice fellow ...)

Lightside 21-12-2005 12:06 PM

Best wishes to you all, guys! :) Let's hope the new year brings many good things for all of us, our families... and let's not forget about the rest of the world, for crying out loud! :D

Regards,
Lightside

Scorpius 21-12-2005 05:30 PM

Fruit Pie Jones 21-12-2005 05:51 PM

My newly decked-out avatar would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
Except the Luftwaffe. They can go to hell.

(DISCLAIMER: That was a joke. If any of you have family members who are serving or have served in the German air force, I mean no disrespect.)

Santa Clause 21-12-2005 08:43 PM

I do realize it is somewhat early for saying this, but I wish you all a very merry christmas!

And dear Fruit Pie, although I usually haven't the habit of saying things that would seem unpleasent, I wouls like to warn you that you're wearing mine beard and hat. *both are trademarks of Coca-Cola*
I do not mind your wearing them, but I may mistake you (the Fruit Pie) for the cookies that should go along with mine milk when I come to deliver the gifts to your place. *Yes, your getting something special for being such a great person and devoted partner to your spouse*

:xmas:

Tulac 21-12-2005 09:59 PM

Dang I thought Sebatianos was behind the Santa account...
No presents for me then, eh?

Blood-Pigggy 21-12-2005 11:50 PM

I can send you my Pet Rock Tulac.

Shrek 24-12-2005 02:34 PM

:xmas: MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYBODY :xmas:

And for these who don't understand why only in this time of the year people are nice to each other, I think it is better if it occours even for once in an year than not to occour at all.

And for these who have bad memories in this time, I think you should also remember the good memories before the bad - I' m sure everybody has some good memories even if they were long ago - try to remember also the good things, because in life both (good and bad) things will always happen. The trick is to learn to enjoy the good things and to go over the bad ones.

Sorry for this "small talk", may you all have a pleasant time and once again, Merry Christmas

Flop 25-12-2005 12:06 AM

Merry Christmas Everybody. :xmas:
