Every time I open the forum page here, I see this date. It was sooo long ago,
maybe we could do something about it.

I remember the time we were all watching the visitor counter, to see if we broke the record.

Not to disappont you, but this is one of those things some poster in every forum comes up with and always fails. This type of thing always happens spontaneously, usually when the website/forum has been linked by some big popular site.

There were allready atempts of this...

It is not easy to achieve, as I guess that about 2/3 of the users are guests, and their presence is unpredictable...

Well, I would also say that even the member's presence is unpredictable

Although the forums have over 6000 members, most of them almost never visit it, or at least they are not as regular as "we" are.

To get something like that, we would have to schedule a date and a time gap - maybe an afternoon and try to get as many members as possible to be online at that time.

I remember seeing some statistics showing that the "busiest" days occurs frequently on Sundays.

We would need a huge campaign to last at least a week, with warnings for twice or three times per day, and even so, I don't know if it would work...

I like trying to beat the record, and i agree with shrek, we need many guest Sathurday and sunday are the day with many guests.... :w00t:

That was the day of my birthday and even if it was the day with most users... no one made me wishes... :angry:

perhaps a "research" why so many people were online on that date would also be good.

Yeah that was the day that ESA took so many games, before that the record was around 90 methinks...

Wouldn't work, if you are inactive for 15 minutes, you disappear from the list of online members, reappearing next time you click something.

I am not sure if Sunday evening is really the best time, when I checked the numbers, we had about 75 people here and today about 60 - not an impressing difference...
