Air Zonk [NON-PC]
 

Hey, I'm looking for an old system that I used to play over at my friends house about twelve years ago or so. I remember it was kind of gold and black or something like that, and the game cartridges resembled todays current camera flash cards. We used to play some game on it called "Zonic" or "Xonic" or something like that. It was a side scrolling (kinda) action game where your guy is basically a giant floating head with guns and you shoot the guys that come at you as the screen moves across the level. At the beginning of each stage you chose a special guy to help you out and he would come out and kill the baddies with you once you got a certain power up or something like that.

There was also a pinball game, and something that kind of reminded me of a mix between Robocop and Metroid. Those are the only games I can really remember.

Anyway, any help would be great!

No, the graphics were about 50 times better than that. They were equivalent to the SNES or Sega Genesis

by the way Reamus, how many buddons had your joypad, or was it joystick?

might have just been A and B, I think. With a D-pad, no joystick.

The guy in the Zonic game (or what ever it was called) had really cool sunglasses and blonde hair.

I can't even seem to find a game named Zonic or Xonic. All I get is sonic the hedgehog stuff.

I think it was a TurboGrafx 16

It was, and the game was Air Zonk

Oh hush. It was over 10 years ago and I could have SWORN it was gold and black. I was right about the flash card cartridges though. And I got PART of the name of the game right (ZONic...Air ZONk

Maybe your friend coloured it gold or something... sorry :ot:
