Iron_Scarecrow 20-10-2004 06:29 AM

So here is the mighty question. Which came first - the chicken or the egg?

I'd like to hear anyone's opinion on the matter that is willing to express it. Personally I believe the egg had come first, thus the chicken being a mutation of some kind. But not everyone thinks likes this.

There is a link here about it. It involves someone doing an experiment to find the answer  . Absolutly hilarious. Read the hate mail.

Martin 20-10-2004 09:00 AM

The egg came first!!! That's because God dropped an egg. From his arse.

Uhm.

That's my theory, I haven't got any better one... :D

Colbee 20-10-2004 09:03 AM

The answer depends on what kind of egg we are talking about. About a chicken egg or any kind of egg?
Anyway I saw an exhibition about birds evolution and I read there that birds are the living flying dinosaurs. Because of that my answer will be egg too.

TheVoid 20-10-2004 10:13 AM

The answer is surely an egg.
Being birds a mutation from flying reptiles, and seen reptiles make eggs, thus birds came from eggs.

Havell 20-10-2004 10:26 AM

A chicken is an egg's way of making another egg, it's as simple as that.

wormpaul 20-10-2004 10:52 AM

it`s the egg...

A chicken is too big too be made by god

Stroggy 20-10-2004 11:29 AM

KFC
don't believe me?
well... you should!

Eagle of Fire 20-10-2004 04:27 PM

The Chicken came first. There would be no chicken egg if the chicken was not there first to lay it.

Simple.

FreeFreddy 20-10-2004 04:36 PM

And who created the dinosaurs the chickens came from? Thus the chicken also wasn't the first one. Both weren't.

But what was then the first thing on earth??

FreeFreddy 20-10-2004 04:49 PM

Talking about what we know of the history of the earth so far, the first living things were the simpliest algae and bacteria. With time they began to form more complex organisms and from there anything began.
Of course, it's still a question where the algae and bacteria came from. And maybe we'll never have an answer to this question...

Stroggy 20-10-2004 05:41 PM

according to a rabbi 400 years ago:
G'd gave power to the earth and the water to bring forth life.

That's not either the point nor the question. The question is which came first; the Chicken or the egg it is laying.

Unknown Hero 20-10-2004 11:07 PM

I voted for chicken! Why? Well....because chickens mutated from other spiece. Maybe that spiece didn't lay eggs? Or the first egg wasn't real chciken egg, so it was prechicken egg. I don't have any better explanations!

Iron_Scarecrow 21-10-2004 08:15 AM

But it doesn't matter what kind of egg. Sure the first chicken laid the first chicken egg. But the chicken had to of come out of an egg. It's that egg that question revolves around. Or is it .....?

FreeFreddy 21-10-2004 10:55 AM

There simply coudln't be any of them first. Think of the evolution. There were small, fast running dinosaurs, then they started getting feathers and evolutionating to other species in all the long uncounted milleniums. And even in their dinosaur form they laid eggs already. And how can you know which of the dinosaurs was really the first bird and not dinosaur anymore? There was no shaped change, this happened over long time constantly.
If you think long enough of this, you'll realize that the question "Which came first - the chicken or the egg?" doesn't make sense. It cannot be answered. And as such, this dicussion is actually pointless.

Iron_Scarecrow 21-10-2004 11:10 AM

We are talking about the first of the animal known as a chicken. Sure there may have been other forms of it that came first. But we are talking about the chicken and if it evolved into a chicken from some other form, or did a mutant of the other form hatch out an egg as a chicken.

FreeFreddy 21-10-2004 11:17 AM

So the God placed two chickens on the earth. Thus they started to reproduce themselves with the help of eggs to serve the later coming humans as a form of food... :D :bleh:

Iron_Scarecrow 21-10-2004 11:18 AM

LOL LOL LOL So is that your final descision?

Nope, just a joke. But I feel that I need to stick to one side...
Well, I'm for egg. It's the egg where the new kind of bird, the chicken, first came out.

Iron_Scarecrow 21-10-2004 11:22 AM

Ok. Well so far it looks like the egg is dominating.

I feel like we are playing a game of tennis here. LOL

TheVoid 21-10-2004 01:58 PM

Not really. The question is easy to answer. Since birds come from dinosaurs evolution, and the very first ipothetic chicken was born from a late evolution of border dino-bird's egg, then everyway you put it the chicken was born from an egg. No really need of further discussing..... :w00t:

Iron_Scarecrow 21-10-2004 02:01 PM

Probably not, but it was still interesting to see how many people agreed with me. :sneaky:

The egg came first, but only after the chicken.

Well it's more than how many disagreed.

Danny252 26-10-2004 07:45 PM

is that fried or boiled?

Danny252 26-10-2004 07:46 PM

well, for christian freaks, it the chicken, coz god made it.. not the egg...

Danny252 26-10-2004 07:46 PM

then theres the fact that dinos had eggs and they were before chickens..

Danny252 26-10-2004 07:47 PM

Maybe I should mention microbes came before that

FreeFreddy 26-10-2004 07:48 PM

And all the story starts again... LOL

Danny252 26-10-2004 07:48 PM

and see? more people agree with my egg theory. proof. Kinda. Thing. ish. ummm.. :S

Danny252 26-10-2004 07:49 PM

course, at this rate I won't be around to dabate this much longer at my current R.O.P. I'll be banned for spamming.. now, time to go pounce on another forum! I wonder if that amiga thread has been updated...

FreeFreddy 26-10-2004 07:58 PM

And don't post here for many times in a row when you're back.

Danny252 26-10-2004 08:13 PM

Guess who's baaaaaack!!!!! Mwuhahahhaahahaaaaa...
which came first, the male or the female chicken?

FreeFreddy 26-10-2004 08:17 PM

Now that's a good question...
Let's say, the first one was both. LOL

Titan 27-10-2004 04:03 AM

New Option... Titan was the first chicken in a shell.... (?)

wormpaul 27-10-2004 07:29 AM

Nope..

Titan never could make any childeren as a baby...

So better to choose for a male and female chicken

Iron_Scarecrow 27-10-2004 07:37 AM

I'd say a female that was already impregnated at birth and had twins which were male and female. Of course this would lead to inbreeding. :not_ok:

FreeFreddy 27-10-2004 07:38 AM

Good idea. Just how do I reset the poll for everyone?

Iron_Scarecrow 27-10-2004 07:41 AM

That didn't work to well. I can't vote cause I have already voted.

wormpaul 27-10-2004 07:45 AM

Delete this one..

And then start a new 1

Iron_Scarecrow 27-10-2004 07:48 AM

Alright. I'll start it but I can't delete this one.

EDIT: I couldn't be bothered starting it. Someone else can do it.

Our new admin FREDDY can do it

FreeFreddy 27-10-2004 07:53 AM

Here you go. Happy playing. :D

Iron_Scarecrow 27-10-2004 08:00 AM

I changed my mind actually it's highly possible the first was male and then done the thing chickens do with one of the creatues this chicken was mutated from and produced a whole flock of smaller chickens. Once again leading to inbreeding. :not_ok:

FreeFreddy 27-10-2004 08:08 AM

Oh god, now it starts to be disgusting...

Iron_Scarecrow 27-10-2004 08:37 AM

Well if you you think about it. You can't start a race of people or animals without inbreeding.

.....

That means all of you people are my brothers and sisters, or aunts and uncles. Oh I feel so much closer to you all.

FreeFreddy 27-10-2004 01:10 PM

Heh, just dicovered that? All people were always related to each other everytime. If everyone would understand that, what do you think would happen to all the wars?

Iron_Scarecrow 27-10-2004 01:31 PM

They giant family reunions gone wrong thats all.

BTW Who voted for Titan.

Havell 27-10-2004 01:31 PM

He's right you know, everyone was desended from one woman and one man, the one man existed 40,000 years after the one woman

Iron_Scarecrow 27-10-2004 01:32 PM

How does that work?

Probably himself to keep his option alive LOL

Danny252 27-10-2004 09:32 PM

Titan came first.. Then Lord Tit'n'anus impregnated himself with new DNA he created with his intulectually challenged mind and made... A CHICKEN!

Havell 27-10-2004 09:34 PM

That is one of the things I want to see back on this forum, you know Kosta-del-sol, Dr. Tom, titANUS, The Pizzard, etc. They were funny :bleh:

Danny252 27-10-2004 09:37 PM

I want one of dem tuu!

Puffin 27-10-2004 11:06 PM

I was Pippin :D
But I don't really see where Titan comes into this Chicken - egg thingie... but OK LOL

Morrin 28-10-2004 09:14 AM

1. Eggs are laid
2. Chickens lay eggs

Got it?

FreeFreddy 28-10-2004 10:05 AM

Well, either Titan was in the egg or he was responsible for the production of the egg... :bleh:

Iron_Scarecrow 28-10-2004 12:51 PM

I'm amazed at how many votes titan has.

FreeFreddy 28-10-2004 05:52 PM

Heh, Titan's image goes up, it seems... ^_^

TheVoid 28-10-2004 05:57 PM

I wouldn't say that, since it pictures Titan as a hermaphrodite chicken patriarch. :sneaky:

FreeFreddy 28-10-2004 06:03 PM

Yeah, that's just what I meant. His image of that " " is going up. :sneaky:

Titan 28-10-2004 11:42 PM

:Titan:

Sebatianos 29-10-2004 02:28 PM

O.K. I wouldn't :wall: go banging my head until anybody finds the right answer :wall: , because this question dates back to acient Grece and is thus over 2000 years old. And it still hasn't been answered, but here's my thought:
Have you seen how frogs are born? Now imagine that slime that a mother frog lays in the watter hardened, once outside the water. Well that's the way how the first egg was made. The first animals that actually started laying eggs were probably sea turtles. :sneaky: And out of their eggs hatched Michealngelo, Donatelo, Raphael and Leonardo. They then made a huge painting of Titan and he hatched the first chicken egg! :eeeeeh:

Iron_Scarecrow 29-10-2004 02:38 PM

I'm disgusted at everyones love for titan in this topic.

FreeFreddy 29-10-2004 03:00 PM

You say it pal. There's surely some kind of conspiracy going ón... :karate:
