Dark Angael

I remember I once played a game called "Dark angel", it was similar to Abuse in the sense that it used the same mouse + keyboard controls.
Now I can't seem to find any trace of it anymore since most searchengines seem tot think i am looking for a tv series..
Does any of you guys know witch game i mean?
And do you have any idea about it's status?
I have no Idea who made or published the game but it must have been released about the same or slightly after abuse.
Hope someone can help.

cheers
pat

Strange, nothing on MobyGames, was it Windows or pure DOS game? Can you remember title screen or something? I have good memory on those things but can hardly remember anything given some common-looking title such as that one.

Difficult one, I know.
It's that common name that makes it so hard to find I guess..

it is the kind of game that said Windows 95 on the box but if I'm not mistaken it ran in DOS..

It looked like this:

Startup screen: think nighttime, blue smoke and pictures of tombstones with a woman i a red (leather?) outfit next to it.

the character is a woman with, I think black hair, and i remember a red outfit.
You move her around with the keyboard and you make her jump on and over things.
The characters are drawn a bit bigger then is the case in abuse also less blood and gore as I recall.

It starts somewhere outside and then you enter a chapel where skulls come swirming out of the tombs to attack you and you keep them of with... yeah, what weapons did she have??

i also think it had a bit of a platform aspect to it later on in the game.
hope this can trigger someone's memory.

Are you sure about the title? Can't find anything even remotely close to the given description. "Abuse" controls are quite unique, sure I would remember a game that would use the same method, but then again: I missed a lot of good platformers.

On the other hand there was one: "Vinyl Goddess from Mars". But it doesn't use mouse and it's just a typical platformer.

I am quite sure about the title, or my memory must be taking me for a ride..
vinyl godes has a science fiction theme but the game I am looking for had a more medeivil theme to it..
thanks for squeezing your brain though :)

One I found is called "Dark Angel: Vampire Apocalypse".
Screenshots

It also has a Dreamcast version: screenshot.

But I'm pretty sure that's not what you are looking for. Maybe you remember when you bought, what company made it or on how many floppies it came (or was it a CD game)? That would help.

hmm looks nice, but indeed not the one I was looking for..

Could it be that they just had a demo version out on the cd of a magazine but never released the full game?
Does that happen?

I think I found the demo on a magazine cd once but don't remember witch magazine it was.
the year must be 1995 or 1996.
so probably it was on cd.
i even have a friend of mine searching through his collection of PC gameplay magazines of that period but so far no result :wallbash:

Pheew, just when I was beginning to think I imagined the whole thing , at least a trace of it :)

what do you think? it may not be the best game ever but i have very fond memories of it..
Any chance of getting this game on abandonia?

The Fifth Horseman 01-12-2006 02:10 PM

The game does not appear to be for sale. However...
Quote:

In January 2005, Vicarious Visions was acquired by publisher Activision.[/b]
Soonest we can have the game on Abandonia would therefore be the beginning of 2008.

I see.
I will have to find different means to get my hands on this one I guess.
Maybe there is still a copy floating around the internet somewhere..
