Nihilist

Hello Abandoni'ers.

This is my first post here in this fine community of yours. I would like to start out by saying you have a very nice place here and I will be posting here as often as I can when I get some more research done on my game collection.

I'm sure this is not the place for this, but since this is my first post I would like to offer the community my services as a graphics designer anytime you need them. I am willing to help out on anything you need done, so feel free to poke me anytime you wish :ok:. Now onward to the main reason why I wrote this post.

I have two VERY hard to find games here that just begged me to offer them up:
Nihilist - by Philips Interactive 1996
Zephyr - by New World Computing 1994

I did my research on both. It seems that Zephyr is ESA protected and is now abandonware according to your Old Warez List section. So I'm assuming that one will be fine. I also tried to find it being sold on your list of companies selling games, but it doesn't look like it is being sold in any of these places. I have this as a CD Edition so it might be pretty hefty on space and bandwidth. Might be best to put this is the ISO Forum.

As for Nihilist, this is one HARD game to find ANYTHING on. I've tried finding it for sale, ESA protection, other abandonware sites, etc. Nothing. If anything at all maybe a few dates. It looks like you guys will be the first to get this awesome playing game. It wasn't really a hot seller, but if you ask me it deserved to be. It had some good humor and a simulation/arcade feel to it. Very enjoyable game. I have this in a CD edition as well.

These two games are DOS based and are available when your ready. Again, I can't thank you enough for the hard work you are doing here and I hope to be making some more posts shortly.

Send a PM to Reup (one of board admins). He'll give you login details for the upload FTP so you can upload Nihilist.

As fr Zephyr, see how much space it takes on the CD. It is possible that some of videos/sound may be ripped so that a smaller version could go on the main site (while the full ISO would go into ISO forum).

Thanks, I just pm'ed him.
As far as Nihilist goes, they made this game to be a mixed CD. So there is actual cd quality music on the cd like a music cd would have, plus the actual data. I believe I have pulled the size down to around 74MB. I can probably go lower with WinRAR at "best" compression. I beleive this will leave out the Music that the CD has, but I'm not quite sure yet. I will be testing it today on my Pentium 200MMX machine to see how she flys.

Zephyr will be able to get around the same MB I beleive. I will be trying that one out a bit later today.

74 MB sounds good enough.

Well, I finally got sometime to play around with Nihilist's Image file and I have pulled the actual size to around 47.5MB. This should be just under your 50MB limit for a game to be downloadable from the site.

I'm still playing with Zephyr to make sure the contents are working correctly as I take things out of it. I work a good many hours a day so I do this as soon as a I get time and energy.

I'm also still waiting for Reup to send me the login details for the FTP. Whenever you are ready I will upload Nihilist to you.

I've been looking for Nihilist for ages, since it wasn't released in my country (Brazil) :titan: , and it uses such technology as the Chromatek glasses which I just happen to work with, too :w00t:

Is there some link to download that game? :sos:

Hey Guys,

I'm also looking for a copy of Nihilist. It's hard as hell to find.

I also would prefer a full ISO if someone has it.

:)

Thanks,
Dave
