Hi all

I have a problem with cyberia1 game. Everything works perfect unitll i pass the first few levels (every level you pass get saved automatically and shown in the load game screen as one of 9 screenshots). My problem starts with the 10th level as when i pass this level (i suppose) it gets saved like the earlier ones. However when later i try to load it the game stops responding. Actually i see the first 9 screens and a flashing down arrow (i asume to be able to scroll down to the 10th screenshot) but i cannot do anything. I cannot even load any of the first 9 levels.

Any help would be useful

thanks

Maybe this is just a bug of the game?

Are you running the game in Windows, DosBox or VDMSound?

Hi thanks for the answers first of all

Icewolf I do hope that this is not a bug. I mean with this bug the game would have never been sold as this bug is quite huge.
The fifth horseman: I run the game in dosbox via dosbox game launcher that comes with dosbox 0.65 cvs. Other than that i run dosbox in linux (ubuntu 6.06 dapper drake)
I would hope that this problem is not because of linux as it would mean that i will not be able to play this game. That of course would be sad as this game is brilliant.
I will try to run it in dosemu (an other prog)( and will let you know result.
Meanwhile if any idea so please please

Hi
OK I just got it working. I had a look on the dosbox site and someone mentioned that setting up the game with dynamic machine setting makeks the game to crash on loading. So I have changed to full setting and now it seems to work ok.

Thanks for the replies and the help

Changing core to Full mode has no sense. It's no advantage over Normal.

Icewolf 18-01-2007 11:25 AM

No, but it's different from dynamic... :sneaky:
At least that's what he says according to the DosBox-site.

Hi

I did not know that there is no difference between full mode and normal mode. I will try it out and if there is no difference than i will just leave it as it is. How can I say, I saw the site of dosbox, it sad that one should not use dynamic settings. I opened dblg and edited setting of the cyberia. I opened the tab of the machine setting and i selected the following option after dynamic in the drop down menu. That actually was the full option.

However thanks for the information i will keep it in mind

thanks again

pd what would be the difference between full core and normal core?

The Fifth Horseman 18-01-2007 02:00 PM

The information on DosBox Wiki regarding Dynamic Core dates back to v0.63 of DosBox. 0.65 is much more stable in this aspect.

Full core is slower then Normal, but may be useful if there are compatibility issues with running the game on the latter setting.

Whaohh

It is always good to find out something.
So I am changing to normal now.

Thank you very much for your help
