Can't even get DOS games to run with DOSbox. Am I doing it wrong, or is it simply Vista that sucks?
|
Well, Vista sucks. Period.
Ok, are you able to run dosbox at all? (I have Vista as well as XP, but haven't got around to try out dosbox on Vista). You may be aware of the fact that the kernel in Vista is different from XP's, and maybe the dosbox team haven't got around to make a VIsta compatible verson yet. Still, I would like to see what answers if any you'll get here, as I might want to try to run dosbox as well. |
DosBox runs perfectly for me under Vista...
EDIT: Well...I forgot to ask. How do you use DosBox? I mean, do you basically know how to run games using dosbox? |
Looking at Tech Support, Vista isn't even the full version yet. It's still pretty close to beta.

I have a dualboot XP-Vista, no problems to run dosbox-dosgames 'if you have full access'. If you're on a guest or restricted account you must store your games in /users/your_username/documents/gamesmap/ and mount that as C: , or dosbox can't access them, and you will not be able to save games or write a games config. You also best INSTALL dosbox in /users/your_username/documents/. And Vista may not be the best that MS has created, it's safer than W95. |
