Hi, I recently recived kings quest VII as a gift from my sister. I run windows xp on my computer but she bought the mac version. I was wondering if it is atall possible to emulate a mac to get the game to run or if the 2 systems are too diffrent for that. My disc drive just shows me that the disc is empty. The minimum requirements say system 7.0.1 but thats all chinese to me.

P.S. I hope you dont mind me posting this here as this forum seems to be more directed at DOSbox

of course we dont mind
since you are xp user and it asks for a mac pc then you should get a virtual pc. here is some list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari...rtual_machines
i personaly cant recommend anything since i havnt tried any mac on a virtual pc

edit: found this http://wiki.oldos.org/Mac/68kEmulator

BUT maybe, since the kq7 is a dos game, there is just a dosbox for mac and it runs the whole game under it. in that cause you could just use win dosbox on the files. can you tell what files are there on the cd?

hi thanks for the help. I tried it with win DosBox but i just get a cannot find *.* error. I think this is due to incompatibilities between the pc and mac but theres always the possibility that the disc is faulty (however extremely unlikely) I will try some of the links on wikipedia and see if i can get any to run. Thanks again!

Edit: oh dear im not having too much luck with these emulators. I have absolutely no prior experience in macs. Does it count as abandonware yet? I might just wait till the pc version becomes abandonware.
