one of Sierra first games.
btw. the Pics are broken. |
The Wizard and the Princess is #2 in the Hi-Res Adventure Series, so the #1, Mystery House, should be the first adventure game with graphics. But probably there is an even earlier one buried under metres of dust somewhere.
|
But I don't think it ever came out on PC though. I mean, even this game was ported to PC 2 years later. I could be wrong though, but I guess it really might be the first PC graphically enhanced adventure.
|
I think this is the first one with color graphics...I had Mystery House as a kid and it was just white line drawings on a black background. The graphics were terrible by today's standards but it was one of the first adventure games to have ANY graphics, so we didn't complain ;)

Er, I haven't played the game yet, but isn't one of the screenshots spoiling it? Telling you to use the rock to kill the snake.
|
Not really. Do you have the rock in your inventory???
|
Hope this game doesn't end up like the game Transylvania... That game was horrid :titan:
|
I had this game for the Apple IIC system around 1984.
Effing Snake was always thwarting my 6 year old mind. The image is definately a spoiler. |
Whenever there is more than four lines of text, my game freezes. DOSBox will still run but the game won't. For instance when I type inventory, four items are displayed but I can no longer play. Also the chasm with the cabin on the other side and the snake has more than four lines of text... I think I need to cross the chasm because I've explored every other part of the desert...
I've tried every single key and mouse clicking...any ideas? |
