OK so I downloaded a ascii game called "starfleet command".When I try to play it,it asks me for a security word. You can see this security word in the manual and since I don't have that,I downloaded it from somewhere. However, the word I put in still don't work. Can anyone help?

Some mod should move this to the proper forum.

Replacementdocs has the manuals for starfleet command.
But if the game has been -badly- cracked you're lost.

If I remember swell it was a 1 floppy game, could only run from floppy.
Has been altered later to run from HD.
Isn't there an exe file to crack the game? If I reckon swell something as R-SF.exe or R_1SF.exe ?
You had to run that first.

Yes there is a file called "r-sf1.com".I ran it,then I tried running both "begin.exe" and "begins.exe" but they don't work.

What happened after you ran it? Did it display any messages?

Well, actually they DO work, but I mean that the game still asks for the security word. When I ran r-sf1.com it displayed a message but the window disappeared about 0.2 seconds after I opened it,so I couldn't read it.

Use DOSBox. First run the crack, then the game.
See if that works.

OK but it's pretty hard for me to use dosbox since I have azerty-keyboard(the program will recognise "a" as "q" for example) but I'll give it a try.
