I once again am trying a dos game multiplayer. I downloaded Battle Chess and really liked it (even though I always loose). I noticed that is does have multiplayer capabilities over modem and serial ports. Tomarrow in school I'm gonna connect 2 machines and hope it works with serial link. Not that I'm really worried about viruses this time because, LOL, they aren't my computers :ok:

Why would you be worried about viruses if you are connecting two computers with serial cable?

good news, it worked. Maybe someone in admin could change the info to multiplayer compatible? whatever, next mission, get dial up connection to work...

Unless there is a way to play via TCP/IP, I don't recommend to flag the game "multiplayer compatible" unless you wish to be flooded by newbies who wish to know how to play the game with their friends over the internet.

Because that's what will happen. No doubt about it.

Is there a way to trick DOSBox to think it has a modem?

uhm in the configurationfile of dosbox there are some settings. you basicly dail an ip addres instead of a telephone number.
