Protected games
 

:confused:Why are protected games like Monkey Island still on the Abandonia Download site? How long is a game protected? Its been about 17-18 years since the first Monkey Island made its appearance.If we can't download them, why are they there?:).....SAL

Some games are still there because we had an incident with ESA.
Please read the FAQs, if you still have some questions feel free to ask ;).

Also: Games that used to be available for download, but got protected/sold again, were made unavailable for download while we kept the game page. Remember, Abandonia is just as much about about not letting the old games be forgotten; telling new gamers what games used to be like, a museum if you like. The downloads are more or less a bonus, but still: We don't add to the game pages new games that are protected/sold. Only if they're abandoned will they get their own page with a download link (which in turn will be removed the moment the game is protected/sold again).

Sal, we had this subject discussed to death twenty times over.
Some of the old topics about it should still be accessible with the forum search, and not one jot has changed since then.
