Watermark

We have a lot of extras made from our fellow Abandonians exclusively for Abandonia. Do we need a watermark? What do you think?

To be honest, I don't know anything about technical aspects of this thing. How to make one and how to insert it etc.

If it's a pic/pdf or something like that, I suppose photoshop or GIMP will do the job, if it's a text file then I'm not sure at all.

Something like that (in the left upper corner).

Yes, I think we should use a watermark. It would give us a more professional look, too. :)

It should have been done with PHP's GD, as that's the only way to avoid to recreate all the images and to insure all watermarks are the same.

Thank you for explanation :)

Are these anything close to what you have in mind? (see bottom) They (the watermark) can be made from any font, can be made any size with any level of transparency and can be centered at the top or bottom or put in any corner. Fairly easy. I can write a macro to do a batch at a time.

I just found this by Accident:

but its clear the Map from Abandonia! so yes for Watermark.

@JMB With which Programm did you put the Watermark in?

Geezer 27-03-2008 12:03 PM

@ Paco: It's an older graphics program by MicroGrafx called Picture Publisher. It lets you add transparent text to an image (even JPEGs) and also has a good macro editor that let's you perform batch operations on groups of files. There are probably other programs that can do the same thing, though.

I have instructions on how to create watermarks using Paint Shop Pro as well. The procedure is more time consuming, however.

We should watermark the images, definitely.
