Hi I'm behind a firewall which I can't control, there for I can't open any ports in it and when ever I'm using a file sharing program it works really slow (round the 4kb). I Herad there are tunneling and socket programs that enables you to bypass the firewall. does anyone know anything about that??? Also if you have anyother idea on how to bypass/trick a firewall I'll be happy to hear about it.

:help:

Well, if you're able to remove this firewall and install another one, I would recommend ZoneAlarm. You can get it here:

Here you can get a freeware version for stand-alone users:

try searching for proxy tunneling software on google. i'd direct you to a site which i downloaded mine from (to try and bypass the school filter, which failed :() but i don't have the address now

Freedy I can't uninstall it since it's bulit into the router I am getting my internet from (via a wireless modem). It's a new service we get from our city FREE,FAST (11mbps so they say) and WIRELESS internet a word of the futre to be sure to be sure! SO WHY CAN'T I OPEN THOSE PORTS?!? WHY MUST THERE'S ALWAYS SOMETHING?!? :wall:

anyways thats my problem

p.s
I've found some tunneling progs but they require u pay like 10$ a month since they tunnel the stuff to port 80 i think which is http anyway they can fXXuck OxxFF!

Can't you just deactivate that one firewall somewhere in the options of your router?

well if it;s really cheap maybe they want to prevent big bandwidth usage that way. if it's filtered at the routers of your isp you are out of luck. except for configuring your application to use a different port

I wouldn't suggest trying to bypass a school proxy server/firewall. For some reason the Network Admins seem to have issues with that, LOL.

Another reason not to is that by tunneling, you may be unintentionally opening a back door for hackers and viruses to move in

Ummm... redirect trafic to port 80 or 21? :) worked for me in school ;) used IRC and Napster there that way :)

Seabass 16-12-2004 02:56 AM

How did you redirected it?

Until the network admin runs his report of 'connections that stay open for a long time' and busts you... :sneaky:
