Treasure game with wizards?
I've been searching for this game for ages...I played it as a little kid in the early 90s and can't remember the name or publisher of the game.
What I do remember: - It was a top-down view of a big map, mostly bright green land masses and water. - There were treasure chests scattered throughout the land areas. - You were a wizard (I think). - The goal was to either find some sort of "holy grail" in one of the chests, or find a bunch of items in the different chests. - You also collected gold and silver, which let you travel from place to place on the map. - You competed with other wizards (computer players). - Your player was a colored, square dot and all the other players were colored square dots as well. - I believe there was some sort of toolbar or menu at the top of the window/screen. Anyone have any idea? |

Nope, unfortunately not. That game is far more complex than what I remember, and the game didn't have the "Civilization" aspect to it.

How about King's Bounty? Doesn't look like it's here on this site, though...

Sorry, think I found it... thought I can't seem to find the edit button on my previous post, so apologies for the double:

As much as I wish that was it, it isn't. :(
I also forgot to mention (doh) that it was a turn-based game. |

Is there any other information you can provide? Anything at all would help greatly!

Perhaps, Rage of Mages?
|
Surely you don't mean any of the "Heroes of Might & Magic" series games?
