Okay, I downloaded this game from The Underdogs and it won't let me install it. I can't fit the whole program on one disk and when I put it on two disks it won't install. It doesn't ask for the other disk. I loved the first game and wanrt to play the second one. Someone please help me. I am running windows xp and also have a computer with WIN. 98.

Put it on your HD ;)

Ya, I thought of that but it still needs to be on a disk because if you set your hard drive as the source disk it doesn't recognize it. I have gotten it to slightly work but I was running windows. Uugh.... :rifle: DIE COMPUTER!!!

if the disk type is a CD, have you tried using a virtual CD Drive and mounting an ISO? Just a thought, i've never even heard of the game myself

First, install DosBox. Then mount the directory containing the installation files as A (mount a c:\Life&Death2Install, for example) and mount c: as c (mount c c:\). That ought to do the trick.

Awesome! I will definitely try that. :D

         Okay, here's what I did:
1.Started DOSBox
2.typed mount a c:\windows\lifedeath2
3.typed mount c c:\
4.Ran Install Program
5.Screamed in frustration when game didn't work...

It said that config.dat was corrupted and that the game needed to be reinstalled. What can I do now? :help:

Kon-Tiki 29-12-2004 09:50 PM

Did it say that before or after the installation, and did it say that before trying it in DosBox too?

TandyGen90210 29-12-2004 10:13 PM

After the installation and it said it when I tried it in Windows too. :wall:

First, check if there's a file called config.exe, setup.exe or the likes... one that lets you set the configuration of the game. If there's no such file, look for config.dat in the archive you got the game from (the zipped version)
