Disabling alt+tab
I was going to play Skunny Kart with a friend. Unfortunately, the other player uses Tab for firing and Alt for turning right. Guess what happens if you hit those keys simultaneously.:wall: The game doesn't seem to have an option to re-define the controls.:wall::wall:
Is there a simple way to disable alt-tabbing in Windows? Also, I use this shortcut quite often so it would be nice if only dosbox was affected. I did some googling and there seems to be some third party programs that could do the trick. Any recommendations? BTW, I'm currently running Windows 7. |
CTRL+F1 in DOSBox opens the keymapper.
You can remap keys any way you like in it, including key combinations. So for example you could map left ALT to left CTRL, and that change will only affect games and programs running inside DOSBox. |

Dosbox->readme->keymapper .... and you can write a dosnox conf so it's only loaded with this game. (Again: dosbox->readme....) [Edit] Darned Fifth ...... |
I didn't know you could do it for each game... Handy to know.

:doh:Of course, why didn't I think of that. I knew about this feature, I have even used it before. Thanks Fifth (and dosraider).

Indeed, if you have tailored config files for specific games, each of them can have a different keymap file, not affecting the main keymap in amy fashion. Rather useful for mapping gamepad controls to some games. |
Amy's always messing with my keymaps - making them all slaves to Amy fashion...
All Emo and with lots of make-up and stuff. But chic, like that film Amelie. |
You could also create a shortcut to DOSBox, in which you can mess up with the compatibility tab and disable any Windows shortcut. :)
