Tomorrow Valve is releasing Alien Swarm for free. It's via steam but you know, the world is not perfect :D

Hmm...I would really like to try it, but I dont think I have enough RAM to make it work smoothly.

Yeah it was, and Valve ended up hiring the guys who made it apparently.

If anyone hosts an abandonia group in Alien Swarm, then count me in pls!

do i need to have steam on my computer to play this?

No, you don't really need Steam, google around, there are several sites that explain how to do it.
You even can launch a so called 'private' server for multiplay .....
