My new "Let's Play" Channel
So, I've got a new "let's play" channel on Youtube. It'll generally regard older titles, so, I hope ya'll enjoy it. The first game is "Ecoquest: Search for Cetus."
http://www.youtube.com/user/LetsPlayThomme The first couple videos probably won't be up for a couple of hours from this post, but, here's the head's up. (I hope this isn't against the whole "spamming" thing, the way I understand it, it's not.) I was also looking for some advice on getting the video to look a bit crisper. Youtube seems to make it look like blurry terribleness. |
to make it as crispy as it gets, convert it manually to flv before uploading to youtube. there are some specific settings to check in order to make youtube not-convert it too, but i forgot now. just google it up
edit: nvm, i see the upload hack doesn't work anymore |
So, what can I use to convert it to flv? Cause, I'm using Windows Movie Maker . ugh.... my soul just flinched at saying that....
I mean, for a game like this, it seems ok, but, when I start doing high-res (like the next one I plan to do is Blade Runner) then it'll start showing poorly. |
For my Lets Play Youtube I use Camstudio, it comes out as an .avi file, and some lossless codec. I find my youtube videos aren't downgraded.
Thats mine. Have a look see. |
Ah, ok. Camstudio, I've heard of that, gotta learn to work it well, then, I guess. AVI lossless, then.
|
I can't promise it will work, as I don't know a lot about video recording and stuff like that. But a lot of the lets players on youtube use it. It is pretty easy to use, just download it and its codec from its site.
|
if you're gonna use loseless avis make sure to prepare enough space
|
I was recording Commodore games last night and 10 minutes of uncompressed frames was about 2,5 GB, and after repairing fps to match the sound with VirtualDub, the file became over 4GB....
I recommend making DivX from the beginning - you can always check how does it look like - click here |
With Camstudio most of my recordings, of about ten minutes come out at 300mb to 400mb.
|
dude... Fraps combined with Windows Movie Maker makes a 15 minute video at around 100 mb's, the biggest problem I have with my LP is my voice(I'm only doing one right now, TRON 2.0)
If you truly seek my (pitiful) creation, you will find it here |
