DOOM 1 + 2
Well, I just wanted to start a talk about the DOOM Games of 1993\94 :D
Why not put DOOM 1 on the Site? I think it's Shareware, just like Wolfenstein 3d! Oh and I got some of the Musics of DOOM 1 + the unused DOOM 1 Musics.. P.S.: Sorry if I catched the wrong forum... I think it's good to post this in the Oldies + Newbies Forum.... |
Both parts of the series are still sold.
Far as the music goes, sure - we can add it to AB's music section. |
Too bad that the copy I bought in the shop seemed to be a demo, or something. I mean at the end of the first chapter I somehow could not bring through my character to the next level, what ment I lost ALL the items (armor, weapons) I gathered, so I gave up with this.

The episodes of Doom are designed in such manner you can play through them equipped with only the handgun and limited ammo at the begin of each episode. The friendly zombified soldiers and sergeants will provide all the heavier gear you need. |

Contrary to Doom the sequel DoomII is one long run, there are no separate episodes.
Doom: episodes/missions ( ExxMxx) DoomII: missions. |
yes but Share = Publish something and I know that they are still sold but I think that you can get it in the Internet via Steam or something simliar so the sold thing is not a problem for not adding it.

Although the shareware episode of Doom 1 is widely available, I think it would be nice if Abandonia also put it up along with a review and screenshots. However, the full game is still sold, and therefore it's a Big No to upload it.

I've always been in favor of adding certain shareware (not demos) to Abandonia, depending on the terms, certainly anything from Apogee/3D Realms. Their shareware were fully functional episodes. Translated into today's terms, all games by them were free, but complete games, and then you could buy expansions.
