Beating game copy protection - how?

Hey everyone. I tried to make an ISO of my Nox CD (just to back it up, there's more than enough downloads) but every program I used kept saying that the CD had a lot of bad sectors and unreadable data. This is pretty impossible, since the disc is virtually scratch free and the fact that it worked during installation. I'm guessing that there's some kind of copy protection blocking the programs. Is there any way around this?

I found out using ClonyXXL (program for finding out what copy protection is on a disc) that Nox uses SafeDisc 2. After some snooping around the net, I found out that the fake bad sectors are normal and I can simply ignore it. The bad sectors can last up to 10,000 sectors (!) before actual copying of the disc can begin. I'm going to try safedisc emulation to see if that works.

Get dtools right now and stop asking questions that have been answered 15 years ago. :smile2:

I am doubt that ISO-image will work with Safedisc2. But I could be wrong, of course. Check... themed sites (I forgot, is game-copy-sites tolerable here?), there must be tutorials about cloning discs. :) Daemon Tools could be helpful too, yes. :)

You could use CloneCD for that. It supports copying SafeDisc-protected media.
